hey everybody just a little bit of a check in. this weekend the glee club will be traveling to nationals in dallas, texas on friday night and performing saturday. that evening after the performance and standings announcements-- the glee club will be returning to austin saturday and begin their summer. any questions, please feel free to reach out to me

Admin Note

Hello everyone. I’m really sorry to do this, but I think it’s time I close UT Gleeks. I’ve been struggling to find my muse for the group and for all Glee roleplays to be honest for the last month or so. Logging on has become more of an obligation than a joy and I don’t think it’s fair to you all to be in a group with an admin who isn’t as dedicated as you all have been. 

I’ve been running UTG for a year and ten months now and I’ve met some of my favorite people on the internet here, so I didn’t make this decision lightly at all and I’m really sorry to be disappointing you all like this, but between not enjoying myself like I used to and my personal and work life getting kind of crazy recently, I don’t think I can continue. 

I’ve honestly loved playing with you all and would love to do it again if the opportunity arises. I can always be found at tanyarps and I’m in a Glee/OC group called oneredthread-rp, if you like Glee/OC ships. Otherwise, I’ll no longer be in the Glee roleplaying community.

Texas vs. Mississippi State Orange Bowl Game

Texas lost 38-41. Despite the loss, the Texas Longhorns have a lot to be proud of this season. Making it to the Orange Bowl the season after earning the national championship trophy is nothing to hang our heads in shame about. Better luck next year!

Make A Wish || Group Prompt

Setting: Wine, spiked punch, and pot brownies have been passed around for most of the day. The food has been eaten and everyone's lingering, sitting at the table and carrying on their little side conversations. 

[Kitty stands up and takes a second to steady herself, a special brownie and two glasses of wine taking their toll. She takes her empty wine glass and bangs her fork against it, nearly breaking it, before clearing her throat to speak.]

So I read somewhere that on Thanksgiving people break a turkey bone and make a wish, which seems really stupid because turkeys aren't magic. God is only real magic in the world. [Kitty ignores the eyerolls and soldiers on.] But...someone once told me that God is probably too busy doing important things like curing cancer to care about our wishes and our prayers. So it got me thinking...in the spirit of Thanksgiving and the holiday season, a lot of us volunteer to help complete strangers. We give our time and money, because we know there are some people who can't do it all on their own. If we're able to find it in our dark, dark hearts to help complete strangers, why can't we do the same for people we kind of like? So...

[Kitty walks over to her buffet table to grab the pieces of paper and pens she'd set there before dinner and walks back to the table to pass them out.] 

I'm asking each of you to write down your name and a wish, something that someone can help you with this holiday season, something more valuable than money. You're gonna put your wish in the cowboy hat on top of my head right now, and then we're gonna do a drawing. Think of it as a Secret Santa that doesn't leave you with a bunch of stuff you don't want.

[Once Kitty had collected all the wishes, she passed the hat around the table for everyone to pick out a wish.] 

And remember, no matter who you get, you have to try to help, because that's what the holiday season is about. Oh, and you can tell the person you draw that you're helping them or you can keep it to yourself. Whatever makes it easier to get the job done.

howdy y’all. so after some discussion the other day, we have a couple more events to add to the list from this summer. 

cheer and football camp will proceed as planned on the 1st of august. please note the following aspects to football/cheer camp:

orientation will take place on that saturday which will be 3-4 hours in the morning

starting monday 8/3 will be practice starting at 900 and going until 1700 in the afternoon

camp is from monday - friday.

weight training his highly encouraged on saturday and sunday

there will be a break in summer camp between 8/19 and 8/26. therefore any last minute vacations can be taken then without any interruption from school duties

then there is the matter of the glee club

auditions will be held 8/29 and 8/30

rehearsals will begin 9/1

hey y’all, so we’re doing a bit of a clean up on the dash here today. there are several things that i would like y’all to become aware of. 

right now, there a couple of rule changes.

since everybody has been very good about plotting, we will be lifting the para requirement for the month of june. i think everybody has been doing their bit to plotting out paras and i really enjoy seeing it. 

the anons in the group seem to be getting a bit out of hand. for right now, i would like to ask everybody to turn off their anons or put a tracker on your blog. it seems that some of the anons have been flowing from ic drama to oc drama. therefore we’re going to have to stop with them for now. 

after the rule changes, i have a couple of task for y’all.

updating the main-- i am going through right now and updating the bios. if you have anything specific that you would like to add to your character bio or character connections, please let me know.

the gala songs-- we have five characters who have their songs submitted for the gala tomorrow.

speaking of the gala-- 

the voting has come in for a preference for a live discord interaction. therefore, there will be channels available in the discord for live sessions. we will provide a main category with a channel for everybody to interact in and then if you’d like to branch off and do your own thing, you may add to the category the shipname-location

there will be a channel for the general about of the gala-- pleaces you can dine, the location, places you can move away and make out, etc! 

there will also be a muse channel for you to post your character’s stuff! therefore you can post your character’s outfit, instagram post, etc there

just because we’re having a live discord session doesn’t mean that dash interaction are prohibited! i will be putting a link s channel to post all the starters that have to do for the gala (both open AND closed).

so we’ve had some LONG TIME waiting announcements. apologies for my lack of activity, just been super busy with... u know... lyfe. 

but where are some things to note: 

we have release both adam and kurt’s bios! please look at their bios on the main. 

quintana will be changed to quick and puck will have the face of the lovely michael trevino

we need a rachel for our lovely sammy player (however the mun has voiced that other ships are possible ~)

right now, we’re working on a google calendar for everybody. hopefully that’ll be out later! any questions? you know where to find us!

there is nothing like a new main to make you happy. i’d like to give a shout out to our new admin lonsdale for all her hard work. next to do, the updates for the bios. hopefully, i’ll have that done on sunday. in the mean while, i wanted to go ahead and announce a couple of events that will be coming up over the summer:

june 28th - tina’s birthday

july 4th - independence day

july 10th - opening of west side story (if you need tickets, sebastian bought ten. just ask to have your character be sent a text)

july 31st - marley’s gender reveal party (everybody will be invited)

august 1st - cheer camp and football camp will begin (under discussion)

august 15th - austin’s gay pride parade 

august 26th - fall semester begins

if i happened to miss anything, let me know! i’m positive i went through all the birthdays and wrote them down. if you have an event to be placed on here, i can 100% do that. if there are any questions, you know where to find me.

hello everybody-- please excuse my neglect for the past few days. it turns out that adulting is v hard and i had to adult v hard the past couple of days. i wanted to post this as just a FYI for everybody here.

this month-- i will be starting MEME MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS. since this is getting announced TODAY, we’re getting a bit of a late start and that’s okay. you can post a meme today. there are a couple of rules:

if you post a meme, you have to send it to AT LEAST one other person in the group that is not your character’s current/end game partner

i understand that we just turned off anons, however that’s okay! honestly, everybody in here knows each other and i think we’ll be okay keeping anons off

next month, we’re going to have self para july! every monday i’ll post a task and you’ll get the chance to post a self para of that character. but more details on that NEXT month. 

next line of business, i’m still updating the main. if you want your information updating as far as connections or bio- please let me know!! otherwise i’m going to update based on what i see on the dash.

hello all, it’s been a while since i’ve posted on the main. i’m sorry for my absence, but i’m read yto make a huge announcement. 

firstly, i do want to say a very special good bye to my long time friends. i wanted to wish you well on your future endeavors and thank you for your service to us. both of you will be missed very dearly and truly made this place a good place for me again. 

second, in the up and coming days, we’ll be doing a complete rehaul of utg. as soon as we get things sorted out, we’re gonna go ahead and open the roleplay to any cannon character that was mentioned in the show. so stay tuned for those updates (i promise, they’re actually coming this time).

this sunday is our ball-- performance request will end on saturday at noon cst. so if you’d like your character to perform, just make sure to submit into the main that your character is performing through ask or message.

With all the commotion of battling character additions, I’ve decided to hold back until the 1st to announce new para partners! I’m so excited to see everybody making an effort to do para style that we’ve become a little bit lax on the rule. Thank you everybody for making this successful and it’s really great to see that y’all are plotting and having fun. Now I have gone through a random generator to pair our next para couples.

So the admins have been discussing bringing in new characters, and while there are some that we would like to see, we figured that it wouldn’t hurt to see what all you would like to see - especially those that are interested in the roleplay but there isn’t a character available that they are interested in. Please note that the choices presented to you are not the only choices, and there is even a box where you can suggest something that isn’t listed, but if you are interested in expressing an opinion on who should be in this group, follow this link to complete a quick survey to let us know who you’d most like to see.
