The admin is not the best at answering these but I will try my best! There’s so many and we would love anyone you happen to bring in. Faceclaims that we personally have thought of for certain concepts include a fairly decent list! If you’d like any character concepts to match, we’d like to refer you to this post! hey there! I was wondering if it would possible to have a muse as a police officer like the ones in men in black? But for specifically alien situations?

Hello, anon! That is an awesome suggestion for a character and something that would make a good addition to the community! There is also currently a vigilante organization floating around trying to solve what the normal police force can't ( and won't ), so there could be interesting dynamic there! Would love to hear and see more ideas!

why don't you just lower the amount of apps needed so the earlier apps submitted don't ghost before it opens?

Hi, there! The suggestion is very much so appreciated. We have been keeping in contact with our earlier apps since they have applied and they're all still around and anticipating just as we are! As we only require 3 more apps, we might consider doing so if we don't get to at least 8 in a certain amount of time, but for now it will be kept at 10. Thanks for looking out for us!

what sort of "items" could you get from the biggest points rewards? what kind of things can you get from it

Basically, the possibilities are endless! Most likely, your character will be endowed with some sort of ability that could benefit or hinder them. For example, someone could find an artifact in their backyard or an alien tome in the library and recieve, let’s say, telekinesis. When redeemed, we take into account your character’s personality and the things you put down in your application under events and character growth. Which is why it’s worth the most points!

Would you mind giving some character concept suggestions that you want to see here?

Sure thing, anon! Hold on tight, because we have quite a few concepts we’d love. Definitely feel free to take these and make them into your own!

A superstitious human who might as well have a tinfoil hat. They’re 98% sure that their neighbor or their manager is potentially an alien in human skin. Would make for lots of interesting interactions!

Conversely, a human who is firm in their belief that there’s nothing out there. Everything has a logical explanation, even the grass sometimes turning purple. Definitely science at work!

A very naive alien who is trying their best to blend into human society, but is finding it pretty hard given they arrived on Earth within the last week.

A human rookie cop who accidentally stumbled upon a secret police investigation. Sort of in the same vein of Men in Black. They either are determined to join the secret police or look into them on their own time since they’re kinda shady looking

An alien (Honos) who is involved in some of the wealthiest families back on Ganymede and considers themselves close enough to royalty to earn respect immediately. However, no one on Earth has any concept of who they are, leading to them making several scenes at the local Starbucks. “Don’t you know who I am?!”

A human who wants to start their own paranormal investigation squad.

An alien fashion icon back home who constantly has an opinion on Earthling fashion.

An alien who is frankly very shocked that humans don’t periodically break into song and dance like they’ve seen in the movies. A very dramatic individual with a new love for the theatre.

A human whose whole thing is they’re pretty positive that they’re an alien?

Alien whose parents brought them down to Earth and they freaking hate it here and are most likely an obstinant teenager who probably goes around trying to get back on their home planet. Even if it means putting their family in jeopardy.

Some human who has come across some aliens and absolutely hates them for some personal reason and is determined to sort of expose who is who. Unfortunately, the last two people they confronted were very much human. Rip.

An individual who has set up camp in the Ruins. However, they feel pretty strange about the moon rock in the middle of it. They’re pretty sure they can get hear it talking to them in an ominous voice.

A young, new teacher at one of the schools who is really trying to handle being in this new place, but it’s proving harder than they anticipated.

An intern at City Hall who has accidentally stumbled upon some documents they shouldn’t have. They’re stuck between their morality and keeping a job.

A young alien (Veraque) who are going through their species’ “puberty”. They’ve blended in well until the two little bumps begin to emerge on their forehead so they resort to painstaking attempts to make sure they hide it. Even if it means wearing a hat at all times. And it doesn’t help they keep projecting their negative emotions on other people.

A shady drug dealer who somehow got their hands on a decent supply of the drug Loto. Hangs around at Ultraviolet, lurking in corners. But they’re doing this to earn money for their struggling family.

out of curiosity, how are you planning to do activity checking?

Hello, anon! Honestly, activity checking will not be something we'll be necessarily prioritizing, if that makes sense. There will be activity checks pretty rarely particularly for newer members, as plotting takes a while around real life schedules. If we do notice someone hasn't been actively posting, they will get a bump! We suppose if someone has very obviously not been active at all for a certain amount of days (14), they'll be cleared from the roleplay.

That being said, we want to stress that we understand that a) role-playing and writing is a hobby that can be draining and time consuming, b) members should be inspired to write, not forced, and c) we want the atmosphere to remain fairly lax and fun, not anxiety ridden and mundane. It's extremely important to us to let everyone else know that we value creativity as something that's on your own time, not on our arbitrary, tight deadline. Also don't feel guilty for taking a day or two to respond or to ask for a hiatus if you need it!

what type of characters would the admin team like to see here? :>

Hello, lovely anon! Please buckle up as we have quite a few wild ideas in store!

Firstly as a more general note, we would definitely enjoy more non-believers who are resistant to the idea of the paranormal despite how much they have seen on Auriga. Maybe a few teachers, an alien uber driver, a very dedicated paranormal hunter. Maybe some citizens who aren't so well-intentioned.

On the more specific end, we would love to see: a formerly skeptical rookie police officer who saw some crazy stuff on their first day and has been trying to convince their captain ever since of what they saw and is now on the verge of getting permenant desk duty, a former high ranking P'Raya military who was "sent" to earth on a mission, but ended up getting arrested for something and is now forced into community service and keeps trying to contact their home planet as a "hostage", but fails to each time because ... well, they were sent to earth on purpose, a Vaenir fashion designer who is positive their home planet's eccentric and innovative fashion must be brought to the masses, but can't stop constantly criticizing people's fashion choices because not even a Ghorbite would be caught dead in that, and an occult club president who is more into witchy stuff that found an alien crystal and is convinced that it's now a source of their powers ( they have punched an alien before, but only because he took the last copy of Mario Odyssey on the night of release, not because of his tentacles ).

hello odd question here but could you elaborate on some of the supernatural aspects of your plot? i'm loving the idea so far but am iffy on scifi so im just wondering! ty!

In our opinion, standard “supernatural” can be more so a mix with fantasy. Our theme in particular goes down a different fork.Like our inspirations, the supernatural aspects we’ve included are tied to science fiction, but the two genres work in tandem. Many of the supernatural events are inherently more scientific in nature. This can be most compared to Welcome to Nightvale’s lore, where not much is entirely explained, but it has a theme of the unexplainable. The connections to the Twilight Zone and X-Files where similar themes are explored are just as strong in the same sense.

An average citizen on the island would eventually come to the conclusion that the events happening on Auriga can be considered “otherworldly” in nature. So although there aren’t things like ghosts, demons, and vampires, alien lifeforms and the like will come in similar states, just with some scientific reasoning. We will definitely be having an event surrounding the latter specifically in the future, in fact!

what does the ratio of humans v aliens look like so far?

Out of all our apps so far, we currently we have 4 humans, 2 Vaenir, and 1 half-human half-Vaenir!

Are there any Vaenir naming conventions? Or would they just be the same as humans?
