No, they are not testicles! Let's just get that right out of the way. I mean, they're at the wrong end for a start. They are in fact the palps of a young Uloborid spider, possibly Philoponella congregaBALLis, no wait, I mean congregabillis. My mistake! Anyway, Uloborids are the only spiders without venom, and with palps like that who needs venom anyway? But in all seriousness... they basically are testicles, or more actually, penises (penii?). They are the 'copulatory organs' of male spiders, through which sperm (not produced in the palps) is transferred to the female. And thus concludes today's spidey sex education.
