𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 remark as if it was nobody's business. As if no time had passed and he hadn't spent the last twelve years in miserable conditions, serving a sentence he had nothing to do with. Never had anything to do with... With that. As if they were still two kids just out of school, the whole world at their hands, an unknown future ready to be written by themselves and no one else. Oh, how time had changed... Because sure: he was still the rascal that made jokes and pranked everyone, but he was also way more bitter than he ever wanted to be. Life always had to be a joke, after all, right? Otherwise, how was he meant to survive - his family, his enemies, the war. Survive ( possibly ) losing her for being dubbed a criminal and being away, out of her reach, for so long. And still she made him laugh, just like that, in the very same way she always used to when they were children, with such an Amelia-esque remark.
