A private jet, a tropical location in the middle of winter, and not a bit of work to be done? It should be heaven, but for Seth it felt like a bit of personal hell for him. He’d signed on when his mom had suggested the trip months before, clearing his calendar and telling her he would come. It was only a few weeks before they were set to leave that Natalie informed her son that they would be vacationing with another family - the Jacobs family, of course. The Jacobs and Whitmore family alliance went back to when the patriarchs had been in college and rushed the same fraternity. It had led to a long history of vacations, parties, memories, and well... there was drama here and there.  Enter his history with Olivia - the younger woman he’d been meant to steer clear of, the one his mother wanted one of her children to marry, the one his father thought was beautiful and smart and everything a good daughter should be. The woman he was probably meant to be more of an older brother to. But, being Seth, he righteously fucked that up when he got her into bed and kept her coming back for more (or was he going back for more?) while he was engaged. Once he and Daniella had tied the knot, he dropped Livvie and didn’t speak to her again. He only heard about her through his parents or from hers when he’d seen them.  When Daniella passed away, he got a message from Livvie, giving her condolences, but the damage was done, he was spiraling, and he didn’t have the grace to thank her or reach back out. Really, his plan that he would swear wasn’t his plan, was just to ignore her for the rest of his life.  Except now, he was heading to the pool in their villa, and seeing her stopped him in his tracks. He’d hoped their first meeting would be at a dinner or around family members, but here they were, and there was no where to run. “Hey.” Was that all he had? “Long time no see, Jacobs.”
