Earl Hines "Live At The Village Vanguard" 世評価なし音質こだわりオススメアルバム2枚目は、アール・ハインズからもう一枚、今度はColumbia Jazz Masterpiecesシリーズ。 1965年6月29,30日、The Village Vanguard, NYC.でのライヴ録音。ハインズ通算9枚目。 Never before released material - これまでリリースされたことのない素材 - らしい。 ジャケット・カバーのBig Smileのハインズは、ネットでよく見る画像、彼らしくて最高に素晴らしい。 #ColumbiaRecords ‎– CJ 44197 Miles Davis "Kind Of Blue"以来、2枚目の｢ジャズ・マスターピース・シリーズ｣。1990年にコロンビア・レコーズからジャズCDとLPの再発行を受けたアルバムで、｢オリジナル・アナログ・テープから直接デジタル・リマスタリングされた｣と特徴的な青い外枠のジャケットに書かれています。 早速、録音評からですが... 原盤との比較はしていませんが、シャープで切れ味のよいクリアで好感の持てる音と言う印象です。デジタル・リマスター盤は、ノイズがなくて真に清澄な音質。ライヴ感は薄いと思います。 オーディオは難しい。いわゆるナロウ・レンジであっても、その方が温かくて心地良かったりします。特に古いヴォーカル等はほぼHi-Fiではありません。中音域を強調してレディオ・レンジを意識しているそうです。 だからこそ、本作みたいなデジタル・リマスタリングは、現代のオーディオ機器に合わせたものかも知れません。この新しい音質は、大音量はいいのですが、小音量だと物足りない傾向が。中音域の量感不足が軽くて薄っぺらな印象に。 まぁ、これは本シリーズに限ったことではないのですが。 この辺りは、演奏の質や好みで別れると思いますが。 また、オーディオ・セットがハイ・クオリティならともかく、私のような普通のセットではリマスタリングの方が良いかも知れません。そういう意味では、オーディオ・マニア向けと言うより、古い音源を誰にもいい音で楽しんで欲しいと言うのが本レーベルの意図なのかも。その考えには、大賛成です。改めて、"Kind Of Blue"の通常盤を聴いてみたいと思いました。 (後の"Kind Of Blue"を集めるキッカケ)オーディオ評論家のようなこと申し上げてすみません。 #EarlHines (p, leader) #GeneRamey (string b) #EddieLocke (ds) #BuddJohnson (ss, ts, tracks: A2, A3, B1, B3, B5) Producer - #FrankDriggs Digital Producer - #MichaelBrooks Digital Remix Engineer - #TimGeelan Liner Notes - #StanleyDance Mastered By - #VladoMeller Coordinator - #AmyHerot , #MikeBerniker Design - #AllenWeinberg Photography By - #DavidGahr 期待通りのHines Trioの快調な演奏に、テナーの盟友Budd Johnsonが参加。彼は1930年台初頭からHines Big Bandの音楽監督格だった人で、確かに前出のアルバムに収納された"Flany Doodle Swing""Pianology""Rhythm Sundae" "Inspiration" 等、テナーはBudd Johnsonですね。テナーのスタイルが常に変わり続けた人らしく、この頃はColtraneに影響された感が。 Gene RamyはKansas City出身で、Teddy Wilsonともよく演奏。 Eddie LockはHawkinsにずっと付き合っていたドラマー。 #jazz #fuzey #vinyl #jazzvinyl #vinylcollection #ジャズ #スイングジャーナル #レコード *作品を知るとジャズはもっと輝きます。情報くださる先輩諸氏に感謝。 https://www.instagram.com/p/CFB0ISSJs-b/?igshid=x4h22r3n4pop

オリジナルのLyraです。 「オリジナルは、常に自由であれ!」と思うし、事実、自由に色々とやらせて頂いているから感謝しかない！…のですが、オリジナルは、オリジナル故にイキイキと生きてる為、やるべき事がありすぎる。すると、1日24時間しかない…と言う局面に遭遇するのです。 この制限の中で活動範囲が広いわ、普通の人と同じく寝なきゃいけないわ、ご飯食べな〜、日本のお風呂大チュキ〜、などと(笑)やっていたら、自由と言っても時間の制約と言う当たり前で、尚且つ、極限的な妨害にブチ当たるわけです。 で、やめときゃ良いのに、仕事を頼まれてやるべき事が増えて大変なのに、ぽぽボランティアか？と言う事まで頼まれて、可哀想だから〜と断れず、今年はずっと土日休みなしでやんす。 何か愚痴みたいに見えるけど、楽しい〜。詳しくは書きませんが、色々違う事が出来て楽しい。ただ上手く行けば来年1月には、この2年間のハードスケ…
