Bio

Born in rural China, Baoqin spent most of her early life studying under her grandfather, working to become a scholar, physician, and scholar.

Embraced by Irina Vasileva, a foreign Tzimisce, who was enamored with how Baoqin’s mind worked and sought to work together with the young woman to gain a better understanding of the kindred condition and how they might further evolve past their physical bodies.

During The Cultural Revolution Baoqin fled to South Korea. With her primary source of income and power in shambles back in her motherland she was forced to start anew in Seoul.

Using her decades worth of pharmaceutical and traditional medical knowledge, Baoqin quickly established a presence in the medical world in Seoul, trusting a few select ghouls to lead her businesses. Within only a few decades her businesses became widely successful, leading to her opening a small chain of exclusive spas in the 1990s.

On the kindred side of things, Baoqin led a largely isolated life before moving to Seoul. The only vampire she had any contact with was her sire, and without her there to guide her in vampire politics she had to adapt quickly to her new unlife.

 Under the Camarilla-led Seoul she had attempted to keep her nose down, to not make too much noise as an outsider, but quickly found that to be difficult. Only knowing compassion and camaraderie with her sire, she extended the same kindness to others, regardless of their age or clan. Often sticking up for fledglings and offering help in integrating them into their new life, offering temporary safe havens in her spas.

This outspokenness and compassion for kindred led to her being seen as sort of a leader amongst the younger kindred. Using this to her advantage Baoqin became Baron of zone 4, pushing out the previous ruler only 40 years after she arrived.

In modern nights she spends her time philosophizing on what the future for kindred should be, as the camarilla has seemingly failed and the only attribute the anarch free states have is their lack of governance, but also surveying her domain, ensuring any newly embraced kindred have a home within her court.

Wanted Connections

Adopted Childe: One of the first fledglings Baoqin took under her wing. During their first nights, Baoqin acted as a mentor to your muse, teaching them how to survive as a modern vampire and helped establish a foothold for them within the city.

Enemy in the Court: Baoqin’s penchant for siding with the neonates and fledglings of Seoul has definitely rubbed some of the elders the wrong way, stepping on toes and crossing boundaries. Your muse is one of the many disgruntled Elders who have formed a sort of rivalry with her.  

Camarilla Ally: Despite finding herself aligned with the Anarchs, Baoqin has always believed in the importance of building bridges within the kindred community, regardless of their political affiliation. Throughout the years your muse and Baoqin have met each other on equal ground and helped each other assess threats, build a stronger base, and keep the peace between their two domains. Throughout this process what started as exclusively a mutual agreement of trust has flourished into a proper friendship

Philosophical Rival: As often with academics, Baoqin and your muse do not see eye to eye on many matters, whether that be the type of governance kindred should move towards, what it means to be kindred, or their relationship with the kine, the two are often locked in night-spanning debates. These debates often lead to them both further growing their ideas and evolving their viewpoints, but with how heated they become the two could never admit the amount of influence they’ve had on each other’s philosophies.

Future Leader: As an outsider to Korea, Baoqin feels that she would never be allowed to take a higher position than what's already been given to her. However, with the prince leaving for the middle east and a new power vacuum being created, the opportunity for meaningful change within their society is finally within grasp. Baoqin has offered to help your muse take over the city in place of the barons and prince, in exchange that you listen to some of her ideas…

go insik is a total has - been. i've heard he's a complete loser.

born in 1722 and embraced in 1749, insik was a court painter in joseon who would've made a name for himself if he didn't become a vampire.

in his vampirism, he mentored two of the three wons ( and is it any wonder where hyewon's erotic bent came from ), but in un - life was forced to leave the renown to his pupils.

embraced by his lover, a noble lady in the king's harem who swore up and down that they would live a life of luxury and beauty together. little did he know, he was not the first pretty man she had made this pitch to.

eventually, lady cheon grew tired of him and moved onto new things ( new men ), leaving insik embittered and heartbroken.

attained a good reputation with the court during the occupation because he used his art to ferry messages for the resistance. perhaps the most active he's ever been in caring about the outside world ( but mostly because it affects him also ).

became the toreador primogen because, well, it's nice to be needed. he's fairly bland as a leader, willing to listen when people complain to him but not exactly as proactive as some would like. ran an excellent campaign, though ! prone to shrugging and saying his hands are tied or passing off any work to his clan whip ⸻ but not afraid to yap during council meetings at all. in fact, it's probably harder to get him to stop talking, if anything.

currently makes his living as a webtoon artist. beyond his signature art style, readers recognize him for the similar character archetypes he always employs, namely his sensitive and artistic male leads and the dark - haired, two - faced villainesses constantly standing in the leading couple's way.

fairly unintimidating as far as camarilla go, open to working with the anarchs as needed ( as in, if they can take care of the dirty work for him ). for the past few years, he's grown quite happy and complacent with his position. but after minki announced that he was leaving the city, insik has gotten it into his head that it may not be so bad to be the prince.

he's not entirely delusional. but like. what if, though ?

the one that got away : ( aka the wc on the main ) an old friend turned lover, the one person he thought could heal his heart after noble lady cheon smashed it into pieces. it didn't work out ⸻ wrong place, wrong time, simply fate, who knows ⸻ but he somehow manages not to harbor resentment for you. he's pretty shocked about it too.

siblings : fellow childer of lady cheon. bonus points if she spent more time with you than the fifty years she spent with him.

tattoo artist : technically speaking, you aren't the artist ⸻ insik is. your duty as the blood mage is to work it permanently into his skin, bypassing caine's curse. but after all this time collaborating ( and favors accrued ), you're something like friends, aren't you ?

usurper : he's bad at his job. painfully terrible at it, in your opinion. with a period of upheaval on the horizon, the opportunity to wrest his position into worthier hands approaches. whether or not he realizes your scheming is another question entirely.

wayward childer : former childer of his. insik was not a good father or mentor, but neither was he a bad one. an adequate protector, he did all that was expected of him as a sire. maybe you resent him for overselling immortality, or maybe you've just become distant as you've spread your wings.

hey hi hello!! sorry i'm so late on this but i was very much caught up in veilguard after waiting a decade so..anyway, anyway! i'm leelo and i'm so excited to meet all of you and explore vtm and our characters together! below the cut will have a brief intro and some wanted connections, though her pages aren't up quite yet. first and foremost, eunsook is not a good person. even as a human she barely qualified as a person and age and drifting further from humanity has only made it worse.

she's always been out for #1 and doesn't even particularly care about the lasombra past being in power thanks to them. if she does anything good for her clan, it's for her own benefit or to remain in power and avoid diablerie.

as a human she was a part of the royal court during the joseon dynasty (born 1811) and hated her life. she hated having no say and being reduced to a dutiful wife and filial daughter.

by the standards of the time, she did spend her entire life being pampered and never really wanted for things most people would've killed for but sadly none of that was enough for her.

her vain and cutthroat nature is what made her a perfect mark for a lasombra and she proved she was perfect for the clan when she threw her sister to the vampire to avoid becoming a meal.

much of her time in clan lasombra has mirrored her life in the royal court. lying, manipulating, backstabbing-- all to get her way and secure herself power and a better seat to view those below her from.

she's likely drawn the ire of your pc unless she wants or has wanted something from them or deemed them useful.

despite being a generally all around terrible person she isn't sloppy or stupid. she won't antagonize someone without provocation and definitely won't antagonize those above her or around her station.

miss ma'am loves a good party and an excuse to be admired and doted on, even if it's just to feed her ego/stay in her food graces.

though it's more a nosferatu trait, eunsook did take notice of how it's helped them survived and has become a collector of secrets herself. it never hurts to have ammunition always loaded, after all.

her family's instances on her learning to be a good wife and forsake studying has made her hungry for knowledge and she loves someone who is well traveled and well learned.

wanted connection ideas:

eunsook doesn't really "do" the whole love thing as she's far too self obsessed and refuses to have that kind of opening someone else can manipulate BUT a toy that she enjoys spending time with that has drawn her current infatuation whether due to genuine interest or mutual using would be lovely. both you and eunsook are worried about the coming days, thoughts of gehenna on your minds. though the partnership is rocky, you share information and worries with each other on what the prince's beckoning means for future camarilla life and also swear that the anarchy and sabbat will never see victory.

a lap dog of eunsook's. she's not a good person but she does believing in handsomely rewarding those who get results. clan doesn't matter as long as you have something she wants. knowledge, secrets, information on what other clans are planning.

oh does eunsook's list of enemies grow longer by the second. she doesn't mince words, isn't very kind, is only out for number one-- any of these laundry list of reasons finds your pc loathing the lasombra primogen. however due to her position your hatred has had to find more creative outlets than outright. verbal jabs hidden behind faux pleasantry, making sure another vampire has the same designer dress she appears at the party in, undermining her with her spies and clan. it should be fun, though surely a dangerous proposition.

the frenemies squad? allies on the outside who show a united front but they both secretly hate each other. basically her mean girls squad. she needs to surround herself with a gretchen, kady, and karen to seem in the inner circles of the camarilla and as if people are desperate to want to be around her or be her. another attempt at an illusion of power. if you want this to develop into a more genuine alliance, i'd love that but if you also wanted to pull a kady and do everything to sabotage, I'd love that too!

hey yo, everyone! this is sky (sh/th, 21+) and i'm here to present you kang jieun, salubri clan whip! she was born and raised through the japan colonization of korea and ended up losing her parents pretty young. thankfully she got adopted by a salubri vampire (that later on became her sire), probably because of the combination of a promise they made probably out of their compulsion + pity for the poor orphan girl that seemed to have too much of a kind heart for the world she was born in; tl;dr basically a soft girl raised in a country in war (little do they know that people pleasing and caring for others is how she copes with ✨trauma✨). discord is available by request and pls drop a little ♡ if you'd like me to pop up in your dms for some plotting 💕

past. (tw: death, terminal illness)

born a little before japan (and the camarilla) imposed their control over korea, but her first memory is when their power was cemented so she feels like a daughter of those times anyway, (TW STARTS) even more so when her parents were revolutionaries and ended up losing their lives when she was around twelve. (TW ENDS)

got adopted by a salubri vampire who knew her parents and ended up promising that they'd look after their daughter if something happened to them.

had a lot of questions about their lifestyle, but never really asked them out loud and instead just went with the flow not only because the only person that she had after her parents were gone, but also because her parents were always telling her about being understanding/accepting of the way people are different from her so she just rolled with it.

surprisingly was kept away from the conflict filled part of her (soon to be) sire's life (thankfully because she hates conflict) because they did promise to her parents they'd protect/look after jieun and throwing her in the middle of the storm wasn't exactly doing that, but then there's a limit to how much she could be sheltered and even though she couldn't fully understand the complex social (and political) scenario around her, she didn't need to be super smart to see how some most people were miserable.

even before turning into a vampire, she felt a little compulsion to help people or at least cheer them up/not add to their already existing misery.

(besides her parents always told her that she was the warmest ray of sunshine in their lives and maybe she wanted to hear those words again even if it they weren't from the people that she wanted to hear them the most.)

ends up being offered immortality when (TW STARTS) she's diagnosed with terminal cancer (TW ENDS), says half joking half serious that she said yes because her sire looked very upset about the idea of her dying, but it was also because she wasn't quite ready to leave them either.

led a very lowkey life as a vampire until she's eventually invited by the camarilla to join their court; ends up accepting it, because even though she was raised mostly in an anti-camarilla environment considering her background, it's exactly because of said background that she joins them. she already lost her parents by trying to oppose them + she likes the sense of peace that has under the camarilla control.

doesn't mean she's necessarily loyal to them; in the end she'll always choose the side that seems to be killing less/that she feels the safest and if that changes from the camarilla to the anarchs or even if it's neither of them, so be it.

personality.

was stupidly naive when younger, but then with now centuries on her back, jieun did grow up to a little more distrustful with people and not to let her guard down that easily, even more because of her clan ban, but it's still not very hard to gain her trust or to have her believe in whatever bullshit someone is spilling.

there are even times that she can sort of tell when the other person is trying to take advantage of her, but then just lets them anyway because she believes that they might have their reasons for it + the bullet point below.

has a very kindhearted nature that comes from mostly overly attaching herself to people because she's scared of being left alone/feeling lonely + the little cliche of it being easier for her to not focus on her own problems when she's focusing on someone else's + her clan's compulsion as the very red cherry on top of the cake.

besides her parents always told her to be kind (and then her sire really doubled down on that), because someday the universe would have that kindness returned to her and holding onto those words also feels like a way to also holding onto her parents/to feel close to them.

holding grudges? being petty? don't know her.

not a very good leader, but a very good follower, very hardworking and diligent. also great listener and gives some decent advice even if not always.

always finishes what she starts kind of person, regardless if at any point it stops being worth of all of her effort and time.

is very much into crochet + an absolute plants mom (yes, she makes little sweaters for her plants 🥹); always carry some crocheted animal keychain around to give people if she senses they're sad/need some help and if that doesn't really at least cheer them up, then well, now she'll have to go through hell and back to help them, i guess 😔

might look like an airhead, but is very much attuned to the people around her and what is happening; the type to remember a comment someone made even if they thought that no one was paying attention to them at that time.

kwang yoonseong - anarch baron, brujah. 29 & 112 years old, cainite of the 10th generation. oft found in their haven, the magnolia gardens & nursery, tending to the kindred unaffliated with the camarilla and ready for a change. or a drink with a view. a kindred who speaks of high ideals and poetry, and known for their brutal pursuit when needed.

❀ yoonseong was born during the japanese occupation. part of a network of villages & organizations working for korean independence in the countryside, yoonseong grew up being taught by patriotic scholars and grim freedom fighters. the idealized future and past was always there, ever present yet untouchable.

❀ their background & connections, as well as soft spot for a better sweeter future, lead to their embrace. in yoonseong is the revolutionary, the man on the ground. maybe the hope of a scholar kings of ages past and yet- yoonseong craves love as they crave peace. neither seemed possible.

❀ more importantly, the fight didn't end with the departure of japanese occupation. nation & court building was an ugly, bloody affair, one yoonseong had firsthand experience of. this is what yoonseong was for for, as both kine and kindred. the idealized dawn never arrived but yoonseong wants to believe.

❀ previously a loyal dog of the courts, one of many brujah not immune to power & recognition who wished to see the camarilla continue to grow beyond its failures and live up to its ideals for the new kindred. seceded with brujah icons in 2012, sick of the camarilla's inertia and rigidity in the face of changing nights. the camarilla is old, more interested in its politics than the well being of the clans and the younger generations. yoonseong had wanted to believe in it, had played it safe because they're meant to be sensible and they've always been willing to follow. eventually though- all things break. and yoonseong has seen power change hands many times.

❀ soft spoken for a brujah, yet those in power know yoonseong was at the heart of some of the most tumultuous kindred events in the peninsula. despite their age, their embrace by a well respected and much older brujah, has them more than vicious (and usually capable) enough for seoul. they may not be the strongest nor the wisest, but their roots reach deep, especially for their gentle support for the younger kindred & those the camarilla deem on the outside. even as a member of the Camarilla, they got along better with those.

❀ while familiar & rarely outright hostile to the camarilla's court, yoonseong is sharper and more willful than ever. their abrupt departure of the court was something they've been thinking & planting the seeds of for awhile- Theo Bell's iconic departure along with the rest of their clan triggered them finally leaving, with the trust and hope of many younger cainites. They rule their zone not as royalty but more like an organizer, relying on the trust of Kindred or local leaders to keep order.

wanted connections.

❀ their former coterie - regardless of where they are now, their initial coterie worked for both korean independence and the bloody inception of the present court & nation. these kindred have seen each other in their ugliest & rawest selves- regardless of where they are all know, there is a loyalty here.

❀ beloved colleague - (see vitae's wanted) possibly a coterie member, but this vampire and yoonseong worked hand in hand doing the camarilla's dirty work for decades. preferably a hound/scourge. they know each other better than anyone else- they dreamed of a better future for themselves together, young and hungry and wanting.

❀ beloathed colleague - for a brujah, yoonseong could never quite dream big enough to make it to the big leagues of the court. and yet, here they are, openly flaunting the ivory tower's authority. wether they need to be crushed under heel or simply reevaluated- the power has unmistakably changed.
