“No, no,” the brunette wrinkled her nose at the taste of the pasta sauce. “What do ya think it needs?” Lily asked as she held out a wooden spoon full of sauce from the pot.

Venice stood there for a moment, staring at the stranger she obviously interrupted. “ yeah, no. i can’t do this. ... there’s a guy in the bushes watching you; he paid me $20 to grab your number for him. ” she started, rolling her eyes at herself. “ -- wow, i’m sorry, that wasn’t supposed to sound so ... i don’t know. i feel like i’m 14. if you want, i can give him a local pizza place number and we can call it a day? ” she didn’t know how to make this any better. her brain was screaming for her to walk away, run, even. yet, she couldn’t move. this had gotten so bad, she would have rather been wasting her time with anything else. but, she was never so lucky.

He greeted some of his fraternity brothers and spent a little bit of time with them to just catch up, and then went to his favorite spot. Underneath the big tree by edge of the park pond. Once he was there, he just sat on the grass and spent his day there, losing track of time and took pictures of the changing sky.

It had been a long day and as much as she wanted to, sleep wasn’t exactly her best friend. So, just like several other nights before, she’d come out with a blanket to keep her warm, to sit somewhere nice to just watch the stars for a while. She didn’t exactly expect to run into someone who’d decided to take up her usual spot. “I’m sorry -- I didn’t think anyone else would be out here.”

“Oh hey, I know this is rather random but is this uh, the type of thing a guy would find... Sexy?” She asked pulling her hair out of her face as she looked at the other. “It’s just I’m going on my first date tonight in a while and I don’t really know what to wear.” She said, at this point she was rambling as she nervously bit the bottom of her lip and smiled rather sheepishly at the other.
