i hate posts about worldbuilding that are like “nobody needs to know all the details about your fictional setting’s infrastructure” INCORRECT. i need to know everything at all times and i love unnecessary information

#i do genuinely love it when a lot of thought is put into how a setting works #like in edgedancer the city is in a desert so baking bread in the home would get too hot and people use outdoor communal ovens instead #i love overthinking fantasy settings it's fun it's free and the cops can't stop you #stuff like how people get around a city. where their water comes from #what raw materials are abundant or cheap and how that affects craft production #makes me lose my MIND i love worldbuilding #also these aren't necessarily always irrelevant details #like in real life one of the reasons why the 1590s korean navy consistently outperformed the japanese navy #was due to korean shipbuilding techniques enabled by korea's access to higher quality lumber #so korean ships were bigger faster more stable and could carry more guns
