The urge to lend my copy of Project Hail Mary to all my friends so they can also experience it vs my need to keep it as a reference for writing fic: fight

#project hail mary #sure most of the details are on the Wikipedia page #but it's also about getting Rocky's inflection and body language right #also: given how similar grace and watney are you'd think i'd just lean on the martian but noooo #watney's POV is very much an external dialogue and grace's is internal #there's a different vibe to it and ughhh #'just write it don't worry about accuracy' sure but my brain says no #this is why i so rarely venture into writing for other fandoms #getting characters' voices Right is difficult for me #esp when their voices are so good/part of the draw
