So I've been seeing all the new hype about the potential new hermits for Hermitcraft s10, and I've had a thought. All our guesses have been the hermit-adjacents such as Joel or Martyn, but I think it would be really cool for us to talk about potential additions that aren't already super well known in the community!

Drop below a non-Hermit related mcyt who you think would be a good fit for Hermitcraft! To disclaim, this isn't us saying that they should be in Hermitcraft, but that you think Hermitcraft watchers would enjoy them too. I think this will be a fun way to introduce Hermitcraft fans to other series they might like. I'll go first:

Recently, I've encountered Waxfraud, a youtuber with around 290k subscribers. His main series is a Hardcore world, and he is by far the coziest youtuber I've watched. His builds are cluttered and alive, cottagecore in the best definition of the word. I've been binging his series for the past few days, and here are some examples of his builds:

WATCH BLOODLINES SMP:

a guide on the youtube series Bloodlines SMP, and how to watch it :]

Bloodlines SMP is a 5 chapter roleplay series by 8 smaller minecraft youtubers, featuring cameos from others. the cc's mainly made building tutorials and calming cottagecore stuff before this and their builds are absolutely aweinspiring :] you may know them from Legacy SMP (especially season 3), Truly Bedrock, or OneShot SMP!

it's a storydriven series where everyone posts 1 or 2 (depending on their own editing style) videos per chapter, each chapter takes place over 1 month. the videos are around 10-30 minutes, featuring great editing and inner monolouges, and while some of them stream, lore doesnt happen outside of eps. each month theres around 8~12 videos

the story focuses on the 8 villagers who fled their home, Greyhaven, when it was destroyed by pillagers. they each had a role back in the village (farmer, fisherman, florist, ect) that helps them bring an important resource/skill to the group, and they're all trying to figure out what skills they can have to help the others in the future.

the survivors have no knowledge on magic or the supernatural parts of minecraft, this is all very new to them, and tensions rise in chapter 1 as mysterious magic and prophecies cause a split in the group

by the start of chapter 2 the characters are separating into factions or going off on their own based on their own principles and beliefs about what happened, and its very very interesting seeing everyones perspectives, especially when a character can come off completely differently from someone elses pov. we're only in chapter 2/5 (chapter 2 just ended!) and everyone is at eachothers throats already

characters include Block, a "warrior" who's trying SO hard to prove his family that forced him to be a fisherman wrong (and immediatly failing and jumpcutting to his Fishing Depression Montage), who in chapter 2 seems to be shaping up to have an INSANE villian arc (if you're a skizz or jimmy fan you'll LOVE seeing him get to go nuts), Sevaris, a gardener who is the first person to ever discover redstone and decipher it using her prophetic dreams and help from Allays, Frog, a girl who's taking the fact that everyone she ever knew died a lot more seriously than the others, and tries to figure out how to cure zombie villagers after making the Heartwrenching realization that these used to be people, and Mr. B, a lovable Prick who is incredibly against all this magic hogwash even though he seems to know the most of the lore around this place. he has NO secrets don't WORRY.

this is my recommended viewing playlist, its the order i use when showing the smp to my friends but you can start with anyones perspective :] i recommend watching all 8-12 videos in one chapter before moving on to the next as opposed to just watching from one perspective, but thats just my suggestion. right now everyone either has 2 or 3 videos, and we just finished chapter 2 out of 5 :]

so i've been seeing a whole bunch of you guys make theory posts about who the new Hermits for season 10 might be, and i'm gonna pitch a wildcard, crackpot last-minute theory to you guys:

what if one of the new hermits is WaxFraud or InfiniteDrift?

hear me out.

so we know that there's a good chance that one or both of the new hermits is not well-connected or close friends with the main hermitcraft squad because Doc has said that he doesn't know them super well, but that the new members are ALSO close enough to the hermits' friend circles that Jimmy Solidarity knows who they are and is excited about them.

now obviously, this could be a streamer we already think of as hermit-adjacent, like Joel Smallishbeans or Skizzleman. but what really got me thinking was someone suggesting AdieCraft as a potential new hermit. why did Adie pique my interest? because I skimmed his youtube and realized that he was part of the Legacy SMP.

if you don't know, Legacy was a smaller survival server that several current Hermits and their wider friend groups were involved in a few years ago. Jimmy, Pearl, Gem, Skizz, fWhip, MythicalSausage, and ZloyXP were all Legacy members (aka Legates) at one point.

Most of the big mcytbers left Legacy by the end of season 2 for different servers like X-Life, but Legacy SMP ran for three seasons, and notably, Adie and Zloy stayed Legates on season 3. Legacy season 3 also added a bunch of new streamers, INCLUDING WAXFRAUD.

So there is a record of WaxFraud collaborating with big Hermitcraft-adjacent people and it's not impossible that the hermits have been interested in adding him; Wax is an extremely skilled hardcore builder, after all. I've also caught Eret liking posts I've made on here talking about Wax's content, and even though Eret isn't a hermit herself, she is a builder who knows a lot of well-connected mcytbers. This could mean that WaxFraud is much better known than we think in the upper circles of MCYT.

But Ferret, you may be asking, what about InfiniteDrift? Why do you think she's a potential new hermit?

Well for starters, Drift and Wax are friends. They were both members of the One Shot SMP, and they were also both members of the Bloodlines SMP alongside THREE MORE former Legacy members: Brookella, Sevaris, and Mr. Beardstone. Drift has also been very open about being a fan of Hermitcraft, much like Gem was before joining. Drift also applied for MCC Rising 2 with some of the other Bloodlines members, so we can assume that Scott Smajor has heard of her, at the very least.

Is this copium? Probably. But there's still a non-zero chance that the Hermits know who WaxFraud is, and there's also a non-zero chance that they know who Drift is. Which means there's the slightest of slight chances...

pspsps this is propaganda to follow these smaller mcyts i've found by going down algorithm rabbit holes over the last month. all of them are hardcore gamers bc that's what the algorithm wants to serve me rn.

limecookii - the schtick is "the most cinematic minecraft let's play". no commentary except occasional captions. bdubs-endorsed, he specifically called him out in a stream as having awesome content.

waxfraud - cozy content! does a mixture of longplays and let's plays. i just want to know how he details the way he does tbh. galaxy brain.

aust - impressively-edited videos considering he only started posting four months ago (and already has 60k, hello?!). fully captioned. nice voice, impressive builds.

ryanthescion - explicitly says fuck police brutality, slime is textured pink/rainbow & bees are retextured as various pride flags. fully captioned. just these things make me want to kiss him on the mouth but then he has awesome builds, a nice voice, AND he's funny? okay.

If you’re ever looking for a super chill minecraft series that also doubles as being some high key build inspiration, 10/10 would recommend WaxFraud on youtube. He streams too and I think his name on twitch is the same, if you’re more into that. 

He recently started a new hardcore series after dying in the previous one and like, in general the videos are so pleasant and his builds are SO pretty. Especially with the shaders/texture pack he uses. I mean like just look at this screenshot from the video I’m watching currently lol

Idk, I really like his build style tbh. Plus like he makes longplay videos that are 2-4 hours long without commentary and are just so nice to put on in the background

some screenshots of MY VERY FIRST MINECRAFT HOUSE!!! I've been watching build and tutorial videos and thinking about builds for a long time but this is the first time I got to actually try to build my own, so i made a lil starter house in my friends' Realm!! minecraft fun.........
