Name: Jane Waters Age / D.O.B.: 36, January 17th, 1989 Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: cis woman, she/her, bisexual Hometown: Thief River Falls, Minnesota Affiliation: Civilian Job position: Bartender / independent jewelry maker and designer Education: High School Relationship status: Single Children: one, six year old daughter Willa Positive traits: caring, creative, hard-working, observant, stubborn Negative traits: brash, defensive, sarcastic, capricious, prideful
— BIOGRAPHY
Left as a tiny newborn at the orphanage, Jane never really saw the stability of a home life. Whilst foster parents did pick her up at times, she was often returned, being a little too troublesome as she grew, a little too defensive, or perhaps just a little too closed off.
Jane was a name given to her by the carers at the orphanage, with them often calling her Jane Doe as no one came forward about her roots. Once she turned eighteen, Jane changed her last name to Waters.
School, and eventually high school was a struggle to Jane, given her creative, albeit harsh nature. She loved creating just about anything - clothes, pottery, woodwork, even if drawing just didn't go as well for her. Although, she was fairly decent when she was learning how to tattoo. Natural sciences was where she struggled, so when she finally graduated, she didn't even look into the options of further education. Granted, she didn't have the money for that in the first place.
Once she was free to go, Jane took off, without really looking back. It would've been natural for her to go looking for her parents, but she had no leads, and she was far too angry to actually follow through with that. If those people didn't want her, why would she go looking for them, only to get hurt and disappointed instead? Rather than doing so, Jane explored the country, never really settling down anywhere for good, staying in any city or town she please for a few months at a time. Sometimes, she got a job, sometimes, she made friends, or sometimes, she learned a yet another new skill that she could focus completely on for those few months.
Once of the very few skills that she actually mastered was the art of making jewelry. It calmed her, the whole process of designing and creating it being enough to keep her at peace. At first, she played with simple metals, but once interest in her jewerly grew - albeit still relatively small - she moved onto stronger metals, going as far as silver and bronze.
Just over seven years ago, Jane found herself in New York City, a place where she was bound to go to one day. What she wasn't expecting, however, was to get pregnant after a one night stand. Children - or even a family of her own - wasn't something she had been planning to have, ever, but the Jane quickly found herself warming up to the idea of it.
Whilst Willa's father and Jane gave their relationship a solid chance, clearly both aiming to achieve something they craved, it didn't really work out. Eventually, the two of them called it quits, and opted to coparents instead, still wanting to ensure that their little girl got everything she deserved, and then some more.
For the first time in her life, Jane was settling down, and she found herself absolutely loving it. She was still working fairly dead-end jobs, but it brought money in, and she could afford to rent a decent place in Brooklyn, close to good schools for Willa to attend. Now that she got to settle down, she opted to focus on her jewerly business, working hard to create unique pieces. It doesn't bring her a lot of money, but the work itself was rewarding, and it's a hobby Jane genuinely enjoys.
Nowadays, she can be found spending her time with her daughter, always prioritizing her over everything else, or working at the bar in one of the many hotels of NYC. Whilst she sells most of the jewerly online, she can sometimes be found in one of the markets too, although that's not exactly something that Jane really enjoys.
— WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS
Freuent bar patron. Someone that's been going to the same bar that Jane works at. Both of them flirt with each other, however, it never goes past the simple, playful stuff, decent tipping and free drinks. Neither really push it further.
Neighbors. Good, bad, the worst; whether that's how perceive Jane or how Jane perceives them. Perhaps there's misunderstanding, or perhaps they're the kind to chill at one another's place and meet up for drinks and pizza on the rooftop of their apartment building.
Ghost from the past. Jane had travelled and lived in many cities prior to settling down in NYC, and this person might just be someone she crossed paths with back in the day. It could've been sweet, it could've been terrible, or it could've been both.
Members of the Brotherhood. Whilst Jane is not involved in the matters of the gang, given that her daughter's father is their Captain, she is still somewhat aware. It doesn't go as far as knowing what they do - she does not want to be incriminated, but she certainly knows some of the members.

— BIOGRAPHY
youngest of the madden children.
most of her friends wanted to be disney princesses, but her version of a disney princess had always been being the first lady of the united states.
even though she grew up around money the girl never let it get to her head. she understood she had been blessed with a comfortable lifestyle but even at a young age she wanted to be the reason behind her wealth, not her father.
one thing she loved more than the idea of one day becoming first day was dancing. from as young as nine years old olivia had been training in dance, every day, no matter what, sick or not she was training hard. but dancing was the one thing not controlled by her family, more specifically, her father.
she learned from a young age that she needed to look and play a certain part if she wanted to survive in the circle the madden's ran. she could eat this but not that, drink this not that, wear this and never that, and so on. even her toothpaste was picked out for her because nothing, not a single thing, could distrupt the balance that been created for her.
all her friends were a shining example of people she needed in her life if she wanted to get ahead. she had one close friend (who has been her friend since middle school) and they have been the only one who has stuck by her side through thick and thin. for the most part, she considers everyone else in her life (except her mother and siblings) to be fake.
she graduated from juilliard and had full intentions of following the career she had been ahead of her in dancing, until she met julian berkeley. julian was the love of her life from the moment they exchanged glances, further solidifying that when they both realized they had the same ambitions to be in the white house, and the rest became history.
ten years , seven to eight of marriage (give or take), and two kids later olivia madden is now mrs. olivia madden-berkeley the first lady of the united states of america. it was a long road, with a lot of maneuvering, but olivia doesn't regret a single thing that got her and julian to where they are now. she will stop at nothing to keep this life for them, no matter the costs.
— PERSONALITY
olivia is naturally a very kindhearted, sweet person. she's always been the mom friend of the group so becoming a mother only made that part of her come out more to those around her. she's easy going, down to earth, but can have a temper about her if you push the wrong buttons. for the most part, she is very private about a lot of her feelings though and almost nobody (besides her siblings/husband) has seen any side to her that isn't the sweet side she shows to the public. she is also fiercely loyal to the point that she will turn a blind eye to her husband's private affairs (she has an inkling, no actual proof) and will stop at nothing to protect her husbands reputation.
— WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS
husband: julian berkely (president of the united states). they are like gomez and morticia addams. fiercely in love with each other and will stop at nothing for the other.
best friend: they have been through everything together. friends since middle shool. we can plot more stuff out!
art dealer friends: olivia loves art and she loves collecting it just as much. we can plot more stuff out!
frenemies: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer type vibes.

Name: Elias Park Age / D.O.B.: 32/07.04.1992 Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: Cis male, He/Him, Closeted Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts Affiliation: WNBC (Media, News Station) Job position: Coffee Bitch (Intern) Education: Working on his bachelor’s in journalism (3rd year) Relationship status: Single and too awkward to mingle Children: 0 (does his fur baby count?) Positive traits: (ambitious, kindhearted, compassionate, passionate, loyal) Negative traits: (anxious, stutters at the worst of times, overthinker, self conscious )
— BIOGRAPHY
bullying tw
Elias Parker is the only child of the Parker family.
He’s always been a very imaginative kid. From a young age he was always playing “National Geographic” in his backyard with his animals or plushies in which he would pretend he was being recorded and talking to the camera about what new lands they were visiting now. He even has a whole explorer outfit he would put on to really get into it, compass and all.
From a young age he’s always been fascinated with the people on tv reporting things, from various countries all the way down to the news of the day. To Elias, it was the coolest thing ever. He knew then that when he grew up he wanted to be one of those people, in the thick of it, reporting to the world on whatever the hottest scoop was at the moment. Or travel and learn about new countries to report on.
He was severely bullied at a young age due to being a painfully shy kid who would often stutter if he was too nervous or overwhelmed. His bullies were relentless in shoving him in lockers, dumping garbage on him when they caught him in the bathrooms, randomly picking fights with him, smacking his food out of his hands, and it went on until junior year of high school. It was then that enough and been enough and one day he just punched one of the guys so hard he broke their nose. They didn’t bully him after that, but Elias always felt terrible for doing such a thing.
From a young age the boy knew he was gay. He felt it in his bones and in his heart. He had the biggest crush on his best friend, who was very straight, and he also had major heart eyes for Ryan Gosling (still does). The last thing the guy ever wants to do is disappoint his family by coming out because they always talk about how excited they are for him to marry a nice girl and settle down to have kids.
Now he’s 32 (still never had a boyfriend lmao) and finally has his foot in the door for the dream job he’s always wanted. He’s an intern at WNBC and has been for six months now, it was his whole reason for relocating. He loves his job even if it stresses him out more than he cares to admit. He doesn’t quite understand what getting fifteen coffees has to do with learning how to report the news properly, but he’ll take what he can get.
he has been living in nyc for six months

Negative traits: (unforgiving, brazen, stubborn, reserved, slightly temperamental )
— BIOGRAPHY
PRESSING PLAY -->
Fatih Williams was taken from his mother when he was freshly born into the world, growing up with his father in whatever shelter they could stay in for the night. for him, living in a strong handed household was normal. In face he always flinched whenever a family member would attempt to show him any sort of warmth in the form of a hug or any gentle touch, finding such gestures to be strange. When he asked about what happened to his mother, his father would simply say she went over seas for the army and would one day return. It was his way of trying to keep their lives as separate as possible. In reality his mother was located in Chicago, Illinois living a life in which she was paid off to forget Fatih existed (and she did).
It felt like his family was never anything less than supportive of him, probably because he followed without question what his father commanded. He trained from a young age to be ruthless without question when asked to do and he truly felt like he was working towards something good. How could he not be doing good with his father and grandfather had been so proud of him? However, despite how often he tried to stay out of trouble, it just seemed that trouble could not stay away from him. He was either getting it unintentionally (wrong time, wrong place) or intentionally (defending one of his siblings from something/someone) but it never failed that he found himself in trouble more times than not.
Eventually he was sent to live with an aunt in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Why he was sent to live there was beyond him, but he went without question. It did not take him long to get mixed up with people who had anything but his best interest at heart. Except for one person. Selim Adabaşı. In his whole life he never had met someone (outside of his sibling Levi Grayson) that had looked at him and didn't cast judgement upon first glance. He had never met anyone who had wanted to sit down and get to know the person he was and less did he ever think someone could shift something in him that would make him actually envision a future without a life of crime. Selim quickly became his best friend yet even in high school he kept one half of his life a secret from the other (as much as he could), because he wanted Selim to be as far from that part of him as possible.
Life separated him from Selim shortly after graduating high school. Selim went off to live his life and Fatih left NYC for a bit. He only came back when his aunt sent him a message that she was in the hospital. Things for Faith became harder after high school with his aunt becoming sick and the pressure of setting into his father's footsteps continued to press down on him. Eventually he found himself mixed in with the Syndicate and recruited when he on his twenty-seventh birthday (as a gift to him, lucky him).
Life with the Syndicate seem to look brighter for Fatih. He now had a steady place to live, his father finally seemed satisfied, there was no short of income, but it felt like something was still missing. The puzzle piece came in the form Selim Adabaşı when they ran back into each other and it's like they never lost touch in the first place. They reconnected and the rest was history. He finally had a family of his own in Selim. A family he would do anything to protect, one he'd never betray. But he should've know that he would be able to keep his husband apart from his life of crime forever. He knew eventually he long shifts would become suspicious, but he never once thought that Selim would turn his back on him the way he did. If only he had been given just a little bit more time...
FAST FORWARD -> ->
Five years. Five years he had spent behind bars, in a room locked away from the world. The first year was full of nothing but anger towards Selim for what he had done and he spent a majority of the time plotting every little vengeful thing he would do to the other the moment he could. It started with refusing to sign the papers, forcing his punishment to be being tied to a criminal. He wanted him to remember him. The second year was faced with stepping out and looking in at himself. He came to terms that he had forgiven Selim for what he did, understanding why the other had done it, and he didn't hate him anymore. He didn't like him either, but he didn't hate him. He was more hurt that the other could ever accuse him of cheating on him than anything. This time he refused to sign the papers because he wanted it to be done face to face. He felt their marriage, their friendship, deserved at least that. And the following years were spent working on improving himself, making a vision board of what life he wanted to live if ever given the miracle of seeing daylight again.
Only recently (about a month ago) did Fatih finally get the chance f freedom again. He really didn't know what had stirred in the Syndicate that had awaken the desire to call upon his skills, but he was more than thankful for whatever it had been. And as for the person who was responsible for letting him out? They had his undying loyalty. He's been allowed to settle back into the word for a bit, which he has slowly been trying to do. He's trying to keep his head down while at the same time trying to figure out how he can repay his debut to his savior and find a way out of this life of crime for good. He wants nothing more than to own his own bar one day. Until then, being a bartender is just as fine.

— BIOGRAPHY
stalking tw, stalking mention tw, death mention tw
roxxane hart is the first born out of the two hart children, and she is the oldest. her younger sibling was born five years after her.
she comes from a background in which her family never had much to give, and she learned how to provide for herself at a young age. she helped raise her younger sibling, often left alone with them while their parents worked double shifts to maintain the household income.
roxxane's dad passed away from an illness when she was fifteen, which affected her family a lot. times were even harder in the hart household in terms of finances, so roxi began to work odd jobs to help bring in what little she could. she eventually did get a job at a local fast food fried fish hole in the wall type of joint as a cashier and server.
when she turned eighteen her boss at the fried fish place presented her an opportunity to work for someone who could pay her more than he could, someone how would be able to help her family's situation a little more. by the time she turned twenty-one the young roxxane went by roxi hart and she was quite talented in many ways, mostly she knew how to put on a great show.
the one thing she learned in her line of work was to never fall in love with a client. unfortunately, one client took her kindness as a sign that she wanted to advance to another level outside of their paid arrangements. he began to show up at the club she worked at so often that you could clock the time he would walk through the doors, but he wouldn't come on days she didn't work (some days when she picked up extra shifts she got lucky and didn't have to see him during that shift). little did she know he eventually began to follow her outside of the club too, popping up at the most random of places. eventually things got so bad, police were involved, her manager of many years fired her, and she had to leave the state entirely to be safe.
she quietly moved to queens, nyc. she still wires money to her mother so as to help with her medical bills and sends money to her younger sibling too for anything they might need. her job at gentille fille came thanks to meeting the right person and her boss that happened to be connected to this person somehow. she also picked up a part-time job as a waitress in a hole in the wall diner, saving whatever extra cash she can for the chance to live in a house one day.
— WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS
PROTECTOR OF SORTS: could be a good friend of hers she made when she first got into the city and now they have a protective type of friendship with one another. she feels protective of them because they are her first friend in the big city, helping guide her little by little, and why they are protective of her is utp.
ONE, TWO, FREDDY'S COMING FOR YOU: someone who might've done some digging, found out about her stalker situation, and is now using this against her. why they are blackmailing her is utp.
SHUT UP, SPARK UP: someone who likes to spark a blunt and talk about anything that comes to mind. from things as deep as the meaning of life all the way down to the silly things like what fruit would they live in if they could live in a fruit type of house.

BIOGRAPHY
Like many stories of this time, Halil's starts the moment a boy named Mert met a young Albanian girl named Klaudia, in the middle of the summer holidays on a beach in Greece. It's an odd, endearing story, one where distance could've taken its toll on the young couple but didn't and where the deviations their paths only led them to success after success despite their families not believing they would last long after graduation.
A string of seemingly unconnected accidents brought him into the world and became of his world at the same time. Halil was born at the end of January in Cartagena, Colombia, welcomed into the world by his mother and two fathers who at the time had believed they were having a daughter. Surprised by a son but no less excited, the three lovers raised him to be a nosey, loud, love-drunk brat who wore all the staples of a loving home woven into the fabric of his personality and moral alignments. He was polite to strangers, kind to his peers, but had an energy that often left his parents wondering how all six of their arms (and some of their legs) could be occupied trying to keep their young son on the right path.
But the problem with having a lot of energy laid within the confines of not having anywhere to put it. Halil played competitive sports in school but enjoyed swimming the most, he took on extra classes, worked part-time on the fishing boat his father captained on the weekends, and still came home with the energy of a 'didn't-nap today' toddler.
University quieted that side of him giving fate room to move him where he needed to go; he'd entered his freshmen year as a violinist and graduated with a b.sc in geography instead, eventually moving into his masters and his ph.d in geosciences.
The loud bustle of New York resonated with him the moment that he landed on his first trip outside of where he grew up. Magnetic, loud, a little eccentric; it was almost like the city was made for him and he for the city. So he stayed, not only because he fell in love with a woman but also because he knew deep down that this was where he truly belonged.
She was perfect for him in every way. It had taken him a long time to come to terms with not only his sexuality but his relational preferences, wondering if he only felt how he did simply because it was a part of his lived experience. He worried when he finally did understand his nature, that he would never find someone open and willing to accommodate how he saw his future. But not only did she do that, she seemed to do more, leaving him completely smitten.
However, like anyone with youth shining in their eyes and too much energy, he fell in with what many would say was the 'wrong' crowd. Said crowd introduced him to people and those people introduced him to others, and eventually, with his sailing knowledge and his ability to fly under the radar as just another guy, he found himself making a name for himself in the smaller branches of the cartel.
Being too good at what he did could've got him killed but instead, it got him promoted; discreet, organized, unsuspecting, after the Cartel's warehouse was sieged by law enforcement, they needed someone better to fix the mess left by broken treaties and shady dealings. He had to prove himself, every time he walked into a warehouse or saw a cruiser pass by their apartment, he felt sick but after awhile, everything started to feel normal.
Until the birth of their first child, at least, followed shortly by their second. Becoming a parent put many things into perspective for Halil; he was responsible for these fragile, tiny, beautiful things that to the world that he lived in could be used merely bargaining chips. So he pulled back just a little, kept his private life, private, and his work life at work. Only the important people knew where they lived, knew where his children went to day care, and knew the names of his partners.
He hopes to keep it that way. With growing tensions between his affiliates and other gangs, he doesn't trust anyone to behave themselves; not even him.

— BIOGRAPHY
two souls, meeting by chance, destined to crossed paths; maria de los angeles & jose luis del rios. one the daughter of one of mexico’s infamous cartel bosses & the other a hardworking member of her fathers. maria always wanted something better for herself, a life without bloodshed, an escape from her reality. jose was happy where he was, content to live the life he lived, happy to serve the cartel. jose moved up, proving his loyalty time after time, soon becoming the right-hand man to the cartel kingpin. he met maria during one of their parties & it was amor (love) at first sight for him. she was an angel on earth from the moment he laid on her, with her long raven hair, and her beautiful doe eyes that held two amber colored eyes that resembled gems trying to shine through a dark coal mine. jose luis knew this was going to be the woman he would worship until the end of his day, and maria knew he was going to be trouble. but they had her father's blessing, marrying only six months after meeting, and soon maria was pregnant with their first (and only) son; alejandro del rios.
the first memories alejandro has is of waking up at five in the morning and helping his mother prepare for the day ahead. cooking, taking care of some farm animals, they had, fixing little things around the house, and making sure he was doing as his father asked. he can remember playing with the school kids, running to the local tiendita (store) for pieces of candy, overall being a kid for a short period of time. and he remembers the day he joined his father during a pit stop, showing up to a house that was unlike anything he had ever seen. a petting zoo could be seen in the distance, beautiful luxury cars lined up in the driveway, guards scattered everywhere, gardens that looked like they were plucked from paradise and placed here. the pool looked like a mini ocean with how grand it was, private ball courts, private bar, everything private. he was eight when this pit stop occurred, eight when he first understood what his father's job was, and eight when he met his grandfather for the first time. “ya está listo, jose. el niño tiene que crecer a hombre un dia, y tiene que aprender como pinches defenderse.” (“he is ready, jose. the boy has to grow into a man one day, and he needs to learn how to fucking defend himself.”) he was eight when he was explained what his life would be from there on out.
maria did not want her son to follow in the footsteps of her father, her husband, her entire family as it seemed, and she wanted to protect him from that life as much as possible. jose, loving his wife so dearly, was convinced to move to the united states of america. it was a long journey, alejandro was ten, and there is not a moment of it that has not stayed engraved in his head. he remembers arriving to a small home in the bonx, nyc, barely holding the family that was in it as it was, but it did not lack the warmth of a big family home. then followed the seemingly endless process of becoming us citizens, of watching his father push for a life his mother dreamed of, but in the shadows, he knew the secrets his father held. even in the states the cartel ran deep, as it ran deep in the veins of jose luis del rios. by the age of thirteen, the kid was becoming a man.
eventually the del rios family makes a name for themselves, running a business under the disguise of being a moving company. jose luis continues to run cartel business (pushing drugs through, at times weapons) in the shadows, maria unaware of his business still involving the cartel is happy that they are now thriving, and alejandro continued to work in the shadows with his father. he learned how to defend himself with something as simple as a fork, learned the right words to tune into when conversations were being had, learned how to shoot a gun from a young age at the shooting range with his father, and his training only intensified during the summer when he could be away for weeks at a time with his father visiting family in mexico. during one of their mexico trips, when alejandro was fifteen, he killed his first person it was in defense of his father who would have gotten the bullet instead had alejandro not done something. but when you kill someone, no matter if it's to save a life, something shifts inside of you. you either become the opposite of what that darkness can hold, or you embrace it; alejandro embraced it.
at the age of twenty-five he got recruited into the cartel, his grandfather having the connections he did, it was not a difficult choice for either to make. he started with slinging drugs and eventually earned himself a spot as one of the cartels sicarios. he is good at what he does and he had a charming smile that he used to his advantage. all mixed with a heart he could easily turn cold when needed. one day he hopes to become one of the underbosses for the cartel, because he knows his pops (now retired from such a life) would be very proud of him. his grandfather still rules in a small city in mexico (zapotlan, mexico) and his mother continues to be unaware of what alejndro really does. to her, he is just her boy who loves to work as an uber driver. to be honest for the most part, alejandro is very laid back and doesn't really have personal beef with members in other gangs but when the boss tells him to lock in is when alejandro del rio locks in. will he remain down this path or find a way out? only time is to tell.

So I look in people's windows Like I'm some deranged weirdo I attend Christmas parties from outside
— BASICS
Name: Margaret "Meg" Cooper Age / D.O.B.: 27 / September 5, 1997 Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: Cis woman, she/her, Hometown: Greenville, SC Affiliation: Media Job position: Photographer, NYT Education: University (B.S. Journalism) Relationship status: Single Children: None Positive traits: (5) Analytical, Curious, Disciplined, Independent, Meticulous. Negative traits: (5) Critical, Detached, Reserved, Rigid, Skeptical.
— BIOGRAPHY
Margaret Cooper has half a dozen hometowns, and so, to her, it felt as though she had never really lived anywhere at all. Every few years, it was off to some new town and some new school. Meg’s father was a collegiate football coach, which meant there was some other team always calling his name. Coach Cooper was a tough man with high expectations for his four children. Emotions were discouraged, respect was demanded without question, and pride was earned through achievement. The Cooper children’s early education was done through catholic schools, if only to make sure their discipline never faltered. For Margaret’s oldest brothers, Thomas and Patrick, it allowed them to thrive. They got good grades, stayed out of trouble, and found the love of sports their father worked to instill in them. For her middle brother, Nicholas, it destroyed him. Nicky pushed back against such rigid ideals, having never quite figured out how to live up to them. Meg watched as Nicky withdrew, falling deeper and deeper into drug addiction until he was a shell of the happy, loving person he’d once been.
Meg had always watched, seemingly relegated to the role of observer in her own life. She never settled in one place long enough to make truly lasting friendships, to pick up the quirks of a community, or feel like she really belonged. As she was reserved by nature, and always the new kid in town, it became easier to watch the world rather than participate in it. Meg documented her life and the places she’d been– the house in Ohio with the backyard swingset, the one in Georgia with a stranger’s height etched into her bedroom door frame– she jotted it all down like a story she didn’t want to forget. She filled journals with stories and printed photos of the places she’d been and the things she saw.
As Meg grew older, she realized it wasn’t just her life that she could document and observe. She could be a voyeur of the world, peering in on lives and events that weren’t her own, fascinated by all the mundanity of everything around her. If she was never a part of it, she could be impartial, writing and capturing the truth from the outside looking in.
Meg went on to study journalism in college, though photography remained her true love. If the pen was to the sword then Meg always believed a camera was her shield, and that was what she much preferred to brandish. After college, Meg moved to New York, enticed by the idea of a city where people were always coming and going. It was a revolving door where being the new kid in town was commonplace. At first, Meg made ends meet by working freelance, before she was able to land steady gigs through a few mid-sized publications. For the past two years, she’s been working as a photojournalist for the Times, observing the city from behind the lens of a camera and documenting her world one shutter click at a time.

𝐕𝐈𝐊𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐘𝐀 𝐕𝐀𝐇𝐋.
— BASICS
Name: Viktoriya Vahl Age / D.O.B.: 50 (1974) Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: Cisfemale, lesbian Hometown: Moscow, Russia. Moved to the UK in her early years, then the US in her 20s. Affiliation: Media / Civilian Relationship status: Single Job position: Journalist at the New York Times + University Professor
— BIOGRAPHY
To those well versed in journalism, Viktoriya Vahl has always been familiar. Made her name back in the late 90s, by scoring exclusive breaks that no one else was bound to get access to. Throughout the years, the ethics behind it began to be questioned; surely it wasn’t as easy as being at the right place, at the right time. Famously predicted elected Presidents for the past two decades. Famously, also, hasn’t revealed who she’d voted for any of those times. Through her intense, no-bullshit approach to heavy topics, and exclusive coverage of the most controversial shattering news of the early 2000s, Viktoriya Vahl became synonymous with unbiased reporting. Accolade central. When it comes to Vikoriya’s journalism, she’s collected appraisals as though she needed awards to survive. Journalist at the New York Times for three decades. As of recent years, has been lending her knowledge as a professor to the top NYC universities. Her classes are exclusive, and intense. Students who got in looked down on those who didn't. Rumored to have had affairs with students in the past, but it was just that — rumors, every time. (And God, how many men have done it, unapologetically so?)
Can be bought… but not in the way you might think. Viktoriya wants not money, she wants accolades. She wants as many statues on her shelf as one could possibly have — forever cement her name as the best of the best. Pulitzer short-listed a few too many times for her liking. A win, her ultimate goal — which hasn't happened yet. She’s unorthodox. Subtle as a heart-attack. Her students tell each other to trust the process — that she’s the best for a damn reason.
— CAREER OVERVIEW
1991 — Journalism @ Oxford Brookes University
1995 — Begins work as a journalist at The Guardian
1995 — Masters @ Imperial College London
1998 — Moves to New York to pursue a Doctorate @ Fordham University. Begins work with the Associated Press, writing about international conflicts. Her breaking of the news that presidents of North and South Korea signed peace accord, and at least symbolically, end a half-century of antagonism on June 13 2000 earned her a bigger and better offer to switch to the New York Times.
2000 — Accepts a position at The New York Times. Continues to write about international conflicts, but adds on American coverage — which that year, most importantly the Bush-Gore dispute for the presidency; one of the closest elections in U.S. history.
2001 — Becomes a war journalist, based in the Middle East. With her experience writing about international conflict matters, Viktoriya was the obvious choice to follow The War on Terror, on the field. Started when she was 28, and left at 35. Returned a few time over the years for specific periods of time.
2009 — Upon her return, Viktoriya receives the Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism, and attends IWMF's Courage in Journalism Awards ceremony to collect an award she'd worn five years priror but missed by being on the field. At the Martha Gellhorn Prize ceremony, she Viktoriya was famously introduced as 'this decade's best female Journalist', which she took great issue with. That, in itself, made headlines of its own.
2010-Present — Continues to write for the New York Times, further cementing her name in the world of political and societal journalism.
2018-Present — In contrast to her once-chaotic journalistic schedule, Viktoriya finds that she's earned her place in the podium and that she doesn't need to 'hustle' the way younger journalists do. With a complex web of connections spanning across decades and different continents, the big and worthy stories come to her — instead of her having to run after it.
2018-Present — Starts teaching. Now cherry-picking her journalistic work, Viktoriya dedicates her time to teaching at the best Journalism and Media programs in New York City. She has also been writing more, in the form of traditional literature.

— BIOGRAPHY
estelle doesn’t remember much about living in south korea as she was merely six years old when her family moved to san francisco because of her father's work opportunity.
she grew up in a tight-knit family, with an asian tiger mom as her favorite parent, a hard-working father, and took up the role as the nagging sister to her two brothers.
and to be honest? her life was… normal. she helped her mother translate “big english words”, got made fun of for numerous things, studied hard to become a doctor as her father's wish, etcetera etcetera.
unfortunately, her relationship with her father came to a strain when she was seventeen, during dinner when she declared she wanted to pursue communications instead of biochemistry.
it wasn’t computer science, it wasn't law, it wasn’t engineering – but it was something she wanted to pursue.
estelle, technically speaking, came victorious since her father still reluctantly paid for her tuition. but was it really worth the cost of her relationship with her father? who knows.
and now, she’s here. working for the media at the big apple, barely seeing her family, and simply living her life.
oh and – did she tell you she’s affiliated with a gang now? crazy how life works, right?

[pedro pascal — 42 — he/him] Introducing JAVIER GUZMAN. Word on the street is they are a CRIMINAL PROFILER, and despite what others might think, they remain CORRUPT. Though they are NEGATIVE TRAIT and NEGATIVE TRAIT, they can also be POSITIVE TRAIT and POSITIVE TRAIT. In the chaos of New York City, they’re sure to fit right in.
— BASICS
Name: Javier Guzman Age / D.O.B.: 45 Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: Male, he/him, Bisexual Hometown: Affiliation: CORRUPT Job position: Criminal Profiler Education: NYU Relationship status: Single, widowed Children: One, 19 year old named Luca Positive traits: (Loyal, smart, calculated, educated, quick witted) Negative traits: (Grumpy, noncommittal, moody, uncaring, big temper)
— BIOGRAPHY
Javier did not grow up in a good family environment. Growing up, he was surrounded by poverty and drugs, and became a bit of a hardass when it came to his family. His single father was the only true stability in his life, and taught him how to take care of his family; working as a single dad at a casino, he illustrated the dangers of drugs and alcohol to his son from a very young age. Javier mostly took care of himself, developing an attitude and getting in trouble at school a lot for acting out, but his father's teachings stuck enough for him to know not to get involved with drugs.
After graduating high school, he took a year off to work a couple of retail jobs and rake in the money. Before long, he had enough to get a small apartment and get out of the area he'd grown up in. In an instant, everything changed for him. His attitude changed, his anger changed, his life changed. He no longer felt a need to act out, no longer was seeking the attention of his father, now that he was living on his own. It felt like he could breathe again.
He decided to go to college and pursue criminal justice, with the intention of going back to the neighbourhood and trying to fix the things that he'd seen. It had never been his goal to become corrupt in any way. In fact, it had been his goal to help people, to save them. At 25, he was even in a relationship with a woman, he was in therapy, and she had said yes to his marriage proposal. He was working as a police officer, well on his way to becoming a detective. All was well.
Finally, he was assigned the role of detective, and he started investigating the gangs and requested to work in his old neighbourhood, buying a new apartment there. For a few years, he improved things there, and even set up a new government building to help underprivileged kids receive free extra educational classes outside of high school to prepare them for scholarship applications.
Then, tragedy struck, as it typically does in these sorts of situations. He was working on investigating a drug hit in the area, when he found one of his current students at the scene. The boy begged Javi to protect him, and he made the decision to take the child in, keeping him safe. Unfortunately, the child has a friend, and he shows up at the house demanding his drug money after the child accidentally lets slip where he's living now. An altercation starts and he can't get there fast enough. The only one who survives is the child, Javi's wife is killed and the friend flees the scene.
Although Javier is able to profile the criminal and fellow officers make the arrest, it's too late. The trauma sticks with him, and he can feel himself reverting back to his old self. Despite himself, he can't let go of the child, and ends up keeping him as he sells his apartment and moves back into his old one. With justice served to his wife's death, he feels he no longer really has a major purpose in life.
He stays at his job, the education center he'd opened stays open and he consistently keeps up with it, but the passion is lost. His child is the one who mostly takes over those sorts of departments, and he tries to keep a positive face about it, tries to not let him see the pain and tragedy under the surface. The job at the education center stabilizes the boy so much that he's almost ready to live on his own, but he stays to keep Javi company
However, his father's wishes for him are suddenly ancient history. He finds himself frequenting bars, drinking on occasion, mostly just surrounding himself with others who are low and rowdy and can drown his thoughts out. It's here he finds himself occasionally meeting others, and it's at those shady bars that the corruption starts.
At first it's simple things. A criminal he's profiling finds him and offers him a few thousand to steer the police in the wrong direction. He'd rejected those offers his entire career, but after his wife dies and this career becomes something he doesn't care about as much, he finds himself accepting those offers. It turns out to be easy money.
Then it gets more serious. Accusing others. Implanting whole new ideas in the eyes of law enforcement. Despite himself, he can't get himself to stop accepting offers. He saves the money, pockets it, and doesn't care that his name is starting to rise among the local gangs. There is no one specific gang that he stops for, but he frequents certain areas where the TTC is a lot, and is typically assigned jobs in that area. His corruption is more based around not caring about his job and the consequences. If he is arrested or killed, he doesn't care that much anymore.

Introducing Theodore Quinn. Word on the street is that he is District Attorney for Brooklyn and is affiliated with the Democratic Party. Though he is conceited and cynical, he can also be charismatic and empathic. In the chaos of New York City, he’s sure to fit right in.

Name: Theodore Paden Quinn
Age / D.O.B.: 39 - November 10th, 1986

Hometown: Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York

Relationship status: Single
Children: None
Positive traits: Charismatic, Empathic, Organized, Understanding, and Observant
Negative traits: Conceited, Cynical, Judgemental, Vain, and Nonchalant
— BIOGRAPHY
Born from an Irish-immigrant mother, Theodore Quinn was born in the most poverty-stricken neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. He was the only boy in a family made up of one single mother and three sisters. He was the eldest with his youngest sister being only 5 years apart. His father was barely in the picture as he abandoned his family and withered away in his alcoholism. His mother worked in housekeeping at the nearby hotel from their apartment. After school, Theodore and his sisters would run house errands for their mother while she was at work. Their mother was quite harsh on her children, mostly Theodore, when it came to academics. She wished for a better life for her children and not be encased in financial struggles like her, cleaning toilets and making beds for a barely livable income.
In his teenage years, Theodore developed a liking for modern politics and philosophy. He admired the questioning and the complexity of it, constantly learning more about it in his school library as well as the public library. Growing up, Theodore was a scrawny, tall kid. Basketball was on the table as a possible route for him. However, Theodore wasn’t one who was meant for athletics. In high school, Theodore was a bright student who constantly got good grades and participated in extracurricular activities; one of them being his high school’s Debate Club. He loved to debate, so much that he became Captain of his school’s Debate Team by junior year. Around that time, Theodore knew that he wanted to enter politics, even his peers made jokes about how he might one day become President of the United States. It was then settled, Theodore wanted to enter law and become a prosecutor. However, where can he find the money to pay off his tuition? His mother knew that Theodore had potential but the horrid question of money would weigh him down. It wasn’t until he was given plenty of scholarships by the end of his senior year for his extracurriculars and towering GPA. He was able to attend Berkeley College with only needing to pay off 25% of his tuition with the help of his scholarships.
Years and years passed by and soon almost every law school was sending him a letter on how much they would love to have Theodore attend after he had received his Bachelor’s degree. In college, Theodore made quite a name for himself through volunteer work. He was dubbed as ‘The kid who made it out’ back home. Soon his image grew more and more by the admiration of his peers. He was ambitious, hard-working, and compassionate. He had plenty of opportunities to intern and shadow many mentors throughout the years. During those times, he studied the way they dressed and the way they spoke. Theodore, desiring what those wealthy and trained lawyers had, began to mirror them. By the time he graduated college, he was accepted into Charleston Law School for the fall. This was when Theodore started to grow more into his own confidence and began dating. He dated one of his class peers, Margaret, for about two years until they broke up when close to graduation.
After finishing law school with second-to-top of his class, Theodore quickly took his bar exam and passed with flying colors. During the time he was starting out as a fresh-faced lawyer in a small firm in Brooklyn, he was taking care of his mother and sisters back at home. He made sure to remain present in their lives as well as sending money whenever he was paid. Year after year, he was able to work his way up from the smallest firm in Brownsville to a prestigious law firm in the heart of Brooklyn. Soon, Theodore’s many years of hard work and effort paid off when he reached the title of District Attorney and represented his home-borough.

Name: Halina Dunaj Age / D.O.B.: 33, 17th July 1991 Gender, Pronouns & Sexuality: Cis-Female, she/her, pansexual Hometown: Cape May, NJ Affiliation: Civilian Job position: Performer on Broadway, dancer, singer, actress Education: Julliard School, Performing Arts Relationship status: Single. Children: None. Positive traits: Creative, Warm, Flirty, Caring, Determined Negative traits: Stubborn, Naive, Perfectionist, Gullible, Tense
— BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in Cape May, New Jersey as the only child of a retired dancer and a lawyer.
Grew up surrounded by love and expectations to be nothing but exceptional. Despite that she took after her mother; the warmer and kinder of the two.
Was enrolled early on into dance classes and eventually sent to a private ballet academy.
Found a liking in more than just dancing when she joined her schools drama department later down the line. By age fifteen it was clear that Halina was going to be natural triple threat should she ever choose to follow the path her mother had started on.
While her father was generally not in favor of his daughter dedicating her entire life to the performing arts he eventually caved in after watching one of her high school performances.
Got accepted into Julliard with a scholarship. Moved to New York after graduation and took it as extra motivation to keep going.
Had her first Broadway production in her last year and after graduation landed her second. Has since worked in a few smaller things for tv and movie but mainly stuck to the performances on Broadway.
After a few calmer years she eventually returned full force and has no current plans of leaving the place.
Was invited to a Formula One race when the entire cast of her then current production was invited by a friend of the producers. Met Heath Morgan.
It wasn't until a year after that they started dating, eventually resulting in them getting engaged. Things weren't easy and despite the love Halina felt for the man she called her one true love, eventually the dancer decided to walk away.
Halina still cares but fears the idea of ever letting feelings like that become a reality, or acknowledging the one's she's been suppressing since the breakup. Was entirely unaware of Heath's ties to the Brotherhood.
Has since focused entirely on her career, both because it means the world to her and because any form of work means distraction.
— WANTED CONNECTIONS / PLOTS
Anything you can do, I can do better Rival at Julliard, perhaps beyond that. Always clashed due to the need to be the best. At the end of the day hold great respect for each other, not that either of them would ever voice it out loud. You walked with me through the rain Best friend, someone that Halina trusts above all else. Perhaps they met at Julliard or even before that. Perhaps they've known each other since childhood and walked the same path.
— CURRENT CONNECTIONS
Heath Morgan Ex-Fiance; someone she'd claim to have been the love of her life once. Now she wouldn't be as easily moved to make that comment, even if only due to her fear of seeing things go downhill.
