They partied a lot together, and he was part of Damian’s alcohol/drug scene (Damian was always more of an alcoholic — you can pick your muse's poison, though).

About seven years ago, they both decided to get clean and sober together after almost losing a friend to a DUI incident.

About six years into their sober journey together (approximately six months ago), they struck up a purely physical relationship, lamenting their limited dating pool as young sober men.

They’re extremely good friends, very close, and clear on the terms of their arrangement. They hardly ever talk about their feelings or love interests outside of each other, but when they do, there’s occasionally a tinge of jealousy. Whether or not they ever acknowledge it is up in the air.

DESCRIPTION

BAND LORE:

The indie rock band Amethyst planted its roots in 2000 when lead vocalist Harrison Morrey corralled four of his most talented friends from Blue Harbor University in the span of a year — Kaya, Roman, Antonio and Elijah. Antonio was the guitarist, third to join the lineup sometime between September and October of 2001. After Elijah joined later that year, all five bandmates became thick as thieves, spending almost every moment of free time that they had with one another to practice in Harrison’s family’s garage. Once they all graduated, they even decided to move in together; Elijah and Harrison shared one apartment, while Antonio, Roman and Kaya shared another closeby. This arrangement lasted for several years, playing local gigs around Illinois’ neighboring towns until luck landed them a professional record deal in 2006. They signed to a major label out in Los Angeles and decided to leave behind their humble beginnings for the city of angels, moving to California and spending the next thirteen years touring and making music!

TW FOR CAR ACCIDENTS, DEATH, HOSPITALIZATION, GRIEF. In June of 2019, everything changed. Amethyst were en route to the venue for the last stop of their world tour in Los Angeles when they all suffered from a gnarly car accident — Harrison, unfortunately, was the only one who didn’t survive. The others had varying degrees of injuries requiring hospitalization and specialized care, Roman being the most notable who was rendered unable to play bass again without the functionality of his right hand. In December of that same year, they decided that they could no longer move forward in their career as a band and posted their official disbandment notice on all platforms. Since that moment, none of the other members heard from Elijah (who cut contact and moved back to Blue Harbor as soon as he was physically able to, running from his grief). Roman, Kaya and Antonio were left to pick up the pieces of one another as they mourned the loss of two of their best friends.

Roman returned to Blue Harbor in 2023, leading to several messy confrontations with Elijah. At the moment, they’re both trying (and failing, because they’re both too stubborn to really try) to understand the motives behind one another’s decisions.

ANTONIO SPECIFIC / UTP:

Aside from all of the band lore mentioned above, everything else about Antonio is completely UTP! His full backstory, how he met Harrison originally, current occupation, reasoning for coming back to Blue Harbor, possible other connections, etc etc etc. Throughout their lives, there was a very interesting dynamic in play between the five of them where Elijah romantically had eyes for Harrison (who was straight), Harrison and Kaya had an on and off again fling for most of their lives, and Roman had eyes for Kaya who generally didn’t give him the time of day outside of friendship. Where Antonio fits into all of this is UTP as well — we’ve always joked that he was the most ‘unbothered’ out of them all but obviously, the more drama the better! How Antonio feels about Elijah’s actions post-breakup and/or Roman’s reaction is also UTP. 

In terms of personality, ‘unbothered’ is actually quite a good word to describe him. He’s the most lax member, the one with the ability to keep a calm and sturdy head amongst the common chaos of band life in LA. He had a real passion for the band that ensured he was loved by the general public, too! Of course, though, we’d love if you made Antonio your own so please don’t be afraid to insert your own vision wherever you can! Meaning personality is UTP, this is just a general outline for vibe if you’re stuck!

Damian’s always been protective of both of his younger sisters, but he and Sofia have always had the closest connection. Ever since their mom passed and they were left to be raised by their father, Damian took on a paternal role when necessary, even going so far as taking the brunt of their father’s drunken verbal assaults once in a while so his sisters would never need to.

He was something of a “functional alcoholic” himself — that is, he was slowly killing himself with how much he drank, but unless you were paying close attention, you’d never notice. Not until he left for college, anyway. Away from his real support system for the first time, he tried to kill himself, which just ended with him back home. Though his father never acknowledged the incident, Sofia was probably his biggest rock and supporter through it all, despite Damian’s insistence that she focus on school and what she loved to do.

With some finessing and lying on his part, he convinced Sofia he was completely fine and to go off to university when she was ready and pursue whatever she wanted to. From here, it’s all up to the player. Whatever you think she may have wanted to be/wanted to do, she left Chicago to do it, convinced Damian had his act together. And he did! Eventually. He’s currently six years sober, and working on his issues. And while he’s still as protective of his sisters as ever, Sofia’s the one that always attends his milestone meetings when he’s getting yet another yearly chip to show her support.

Sofia is also the one that pesters him to get out there and form relationships, make connections, etc. She’ll have only just moved to Blue Harbor, either for a job opportunity, to be closer to her brother, or any other reason the player sees fit.

the relationship they have with their parents is a complicated one. on one hand, they never particularly wronged their children—their parents only wanted what was best, and perhaps that insistence to rise to the top was the thing that damaged their children the most. jasper especially felt as though he was coddled to the point of being kept from his own independence. your character can have this manifest in the same way or something different—it's totally up to you.

DESCRIPTION

Dahlia and Liam meet in a photography class her sophomore year of college. Lia was drawn to Liam's passion for photography. The two went on their first date to an art gallery, bonding over their mutual love for creativity and artistic expression. 

Their relationship became pretty serious, very quickly. They would take weekend trips to explore the city and nearby towns' art scenes and nature, documenting their adventures together with Liam's camera. When they started dating, Lia's self-esteem wasn't the greatest, but with Liam's support and encouragement, Lia came to embrace her individuality, and really explore a bunch of different music genres, open mics, and subbing in as a guitarist for bands that needed a temporary member. Likewise, Lia supported all of Liam's photography endeavors and would even provide music for his photo exhibitions.

Her senior year of college, Dahlia and Liam started discussing their future together and dreams of traveling the world together, combining their passions.

The stress of final projects and job applications took its toll on their relationship and they had their first major argument about their post-graduation plans when Liam was offered the opportunity to intern with a renowned photographer in Europe. Lia was torn between her desire to support him and her selfish wish for him to stay. She couldn't drop everything to follow him to Europe either, so she sent him off with a weary smile.

They tried a long-distance relationship for a time (less than a year), but the time difference and distance (physical and emotional) was too much for them to overcome. Liam was the one to actually ask to breakup as Lia (while knowing things weren't working anymore) was unwilling to quit. The breakup was terribly painful, and brought up a lot of old woulds of abandonment for Dahlia.

Shortly after their breakup, Dahlia decided to move back home and hasn't really kept in touch with Liam. She still has a mix of hurt and resentment when she thinks of him, but Lia considers Liam to be "the one that got away." Reasons why he's in Blue Harbor can be totally up to player, and we can always flesh that out!

DESCRIPTION.

After Nilay's attack and her realizing that she had feelings for Elijah Falvey back in 2021, she went into a wee bit of a crisis mode. In comes your character. How they met, when they met, where they met, etc., can absolutely be talked about more! What I imagine is that after she realized she had feelings for her best friend, she became completely terrified that he didn't reciprocate those feelings for her. Instead of asking and trying to see, these two ended up dating for a couple months.

While Nilay liked Y/C and trusted them, it was pretty obvious that her heart was for someone else. Maybe Y/C was oblivious to it and was blindsided when Nilay broke up with them, maybe they sort of knew yet tried to convince themself that it was nothing serious, maybe they thought that after some time her feelings for Eli would disappear and she'd be in love with them completely; However it goes, I picture that after Nilay broke up with them, these two have been on the outs ever since. While Nilay feels awful and wants to try to fix things so that they could become friends, I picture that Y/C is resistant to it. While I do not picture them ending up together, I do want them to have some angst and drama for awhile before finding closure and maybe becoming acquaintances or even friends in the end.
