I’ve been subscribed ta Oneyplays on YouTube since about 2018, an’ as ya can imagine, I fell in love with the whole crew. So when I heard that Zach an’ his pal Michal Cusack somehow managed ta land a show on Adult Swim, I was, shall we say uh, morbidly curious. Holy Mother o’ God, was this show a breath o’ fresh air! I quit watchin’ Adult Swim after the Frisky Dingo drama, an’ ‘cause Family Guy gives me stomach ulcers. Then came along Smiling Friends. No political agendas, no white-shamin’ or male-shamin’, just bat shit insanity like the good ol’ days. Except these guys can actually show blood n’ guts. One particular part o’ Smiling Friends I love is how there’s an enchanted forest adjacent to a modern city. As a life long fan o’ sword n’ sorcery, I’m glad someone finally took the genre outta the dark ages without makin’ quests an’ heroism obsolete. I’m prayin’ ta God these boys get a second, longer season. Not that I’m holdin’ my breath. I’m also prayin’ that Zach an’ Mike don’t get corrupted by the shoowbiz world like so many others. So yeah, I’m back after a bit of a hiatus. No particular reason fer it other than laziness. I’m gonna be postin’ about other subjects, though the animation industry will still be my main focus.
