ace attorney
1. Favourite Ace Attorney game? Well I love them all. I love AA2 a little less that the others.
So
1)  AA3/DD
2) AA1/AJ/Spirit of Justice
3) AA2/ PL vs PE (more because I was never able to finish it)
2. Favourite case? Hum It’s hard to choose. In AA1? Rise of Ashes + Whe we defend Miles. aa2? Circus case. AA3? All of them. AJ? The last case. AA5? Every case of the game. AA6? Hum...I says that one where Trucy is accused.
3. Favourite defendant? 1) Will Power 2) Athena and Simon  3)  MAAAYYYYYAAA (please can you stop to be accused one time by game? thank) 4) Trucy 5) Ron Delite 6) Iris 7) Feenie
4. Favourite prosecutor? 1) Miles 2) Simon 3) Franziska 4) Klavier
5. Favourite ship? NaruMisu  (Asouryuu for DGS)
6. Favourite victim?  Mia Fey - Misty Fey (can you please STOP killing maya’s family? thank)
Also
Clay
Tumblr media
7. Favourite murderer? Grant (he scared me first time i played).
The Murderer in the Circus case was great too but it was so freaking SAD.
Kristoph was scary in his own ways. A vilain who hads never explained his reasons. A vilain who has killed, manipuled, abused and a lot of other thing and never explained WHY.
Good vilain.
I hate him so much.
8. Favourite assistant? ALL OF THEM
9. Favourite witness? Olbag, and Larry
(also the parrot)
10. Favourite quote? “Almost Christmas meaning that it was still not Christmas” and the “udapted auptosie report”
YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE…?
11. Least favourite Ace Attorney game? Justice for All, I love the Circus case but it’s the only case that I love in this game. I admit that the first one was terrible and that the tutorial one is hilarous but....the last was....I didn’t like it.
12. Least favourite case? Farewell, My Turnabout
13. Least favourite defendant?
It would be nice if Maya was not a defendant anymore. Maya, stop being accused of murder dammit!
Seriously Matt Engarde.
14. Least favourite prosecutor? GODOT!!! Payne is the tutorial prosecutor so we forgive his bad sides but Godot?
SAYING THAT MIA DEATH IS PHOENIX’S FAULT AND THAT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HERE FOR PROTECT HER?
DOING NOTHING WHEN HE KNEW THE PLAN AND KILLING MISTY IN FRONT OF MAYA, ADMITTING THAT HE KILLED MISTY EVEN IF MISTY COULD HAVE RESISTED TO DAHLIA’S SPIRIT OR THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN PEARL?
Yuta comes in place 2, because he has triggered Athena’s trauma IN PURPOSE for trigger a breakdown and that was not cool.
Payne is the place 3 but he’s the tutorial and he’s cursed since 100 years to never be able to beat a nuruhodo (phoenix’s family) XD
15. Least favourite ship? KristophxPhoenix or DalhiaxPhoenix
Tumblr media
16. Least favourite victim? The guy from Mia first trial. Terry Fawles. Also the Attorney who has been killed by Yogi in A-3.
17. Least favourite murderer? Hu....How was his name...the detective in AA3? Atmey (even if his plan was freaking clever)   ? Also the murderer in AA1-1 (boring).
Yogi was boring too, until he finally stopped act like a idiot and assume his reponsabilities.
But the FIRST? THE ONE THAT I HATE THE MOST?
DALHIA!!!
I HATE HER SO MUCH.
18. Least favourite assistant? I love everyone of them.
19. Least favourite witness? Haha...Generally they are great. But I’ll say the Orca XD (a least the parrot could talk)
20. Least favourite memory of Ace Attorney? The Bad ending in AA2
The panties thief too
DO YOU PREFER…?
21. Phoenix Wright or Apollo Justice? Phoenix
22. Maya Fey or Trucy Wright?
Tumblr media
*softly* how dare you make me choose?
Monster!
23. Investigations or trials? BOTH. Well except if Payne is the prosecutor. I rather investigate that dealing with him.
24. College Phoenix or Hobo Phoenix? Feenie or Hobo? Both are awesome. The first is adorable dumbass in love, the other is so sassy and depressed. I love them both.
25. Klavier Gavin or Kristoph Gavin? Klavier.
Kristoph can burn in Hell with Dalhia and Manfred.
26. Ace Attorney or Ace Attorney Investigations? Sadely I never played investigations =(, so Ace Attorney
27. Apollo’s perceive, Phoenix’s magatama or Athena’s Mood Matrix? ALL OF THEM
28. Ace Attorney trilogy or Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies?ALL OF THEM
29. 3D models or sprites? 3D are nice, but the remake in HD are great too
30. Ema Skye as she is in Rise from the Ashes or Ema Skye as she is in Apollo Justice? BOTH! Her relation with her sister for the first, and his sassy mode in AJ.
MISCELLANEOUS
31. Did you like what they did to Phoenix in Apollo Justice?  I’m happy that he stopped to be a depressed hobo in DD. He breaks my heart in AJ.
32. Your opinion on Dai Gyakuten Saiban? I WANT TO PLAY TT
33. Do you think Dai Gyakuten Saiban and/or Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2 will get localised to the West? Maybe it will happen in 2021 for DGS 1 and 2, the rumors seems more accurate this time. (see the news about the hack of Capcom)
34. Do you think Miles Edgeworth should get another Investigation-game or do you think another character deserves a spin-off? YES YES YES A new Investigation with Phoenix, Franziska, Trucy, but then Athena, Fay and Klavier would follow Edegeworth too (he can’t have holiday with his husband, daugther and sister, right?)
A spin-off with Apollo would be nice too but with no Trucy, No Athena, no Klavier?
I would  pass.
Or maybe spin-off with Mia; with Phoenix as student/co-council but without Maya or Miles then
so I would pass too.
35. Opinion on the soundtrack of the Ace Attorney-franchise? It’s nice =) Some characters have a awesome theme XD
36. Do you like where the franchise is heading or did you prefer the atmosphere in the original trilogy? I think that getting Apollo out of the story was a mistake TT
37. Capcom suddenly announces that Phoenix will no longer appear in the Ace Attorney franchise! Your reaction?
Tumblr media
38. Capcom suddenly announces that the Ace Attorney franchise has ended for good! Your reaction?
Tumblr media
39. Would you like there to be another Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover game? YES!! YES!! Imagine Alfendi as inspector of the case XD
40. Would you like an Ace Attorney anime? We have one. It's super cool =) and there are fillers about baby Miles, Larry and Phoenix. Nick literally wrote a love letter diffused to radio to Miles XD And the whole cas with Iris? AWESOME!!
41. Opinion on anime cutscenes in Ace Attorney? They are cool =)
42. Would you want to play an Ace Attorney game where you take on the prosecutors role? If Phoenix is the adversaire, we couldn't win XD (welcome in Miles hell guys) Also it would mean all our clients would be guilty right?
43. Do you like having DLC in Ace Attorney-games? YES!! It's just a shame that you have to pay “so mcuh” for them when you already pay the game. But Phoenix defending a orca? Phoenix speak wedding with Miles? TAKE MY MONEY!!!
44. Opinion on Lamiroir’s storyline? Sad. Very sad. Now it would be great if she could talk to her kids. Phoenix is nice to respect her will but both Apollo and Trucy deserve to know.
45. One thing you think the Ace Attorney games can improve on? More Athena, More NaruMitsu. AND APOLLO BETTER TO RETURN!!
46. Capcom suddenly announces an Ace Attorney movie! Would you like it to be based on an already existing case or would you like an all new storyline? Why not do a movie with Rise of Ashes? =) Or a New Storyline But the story better to be cool.
47. Capcom suddenly announces an Ace Attorney movie! Would you prefer it being live-action, 3D animated or 2D animated? Like the anime we already had. The live-action wasn't so cool, compared to the anime.
48. If there could be an Ace Attorney crossover with whatever franchise you’d like, which one would you choose? (Does not need to be a video-game franchise) Hum. Professor Layton again. OR a time travel crossover with the Great Ace Attorney. OR Detective Conan.
49. Opinion on recurring witnesses? (Wendy Oldbag, Lotta Hart, Larry Butz, etc.) Olbag is a gift!!! Larry is a treasure!! Lotta is funny =)
50. Do you think Dual Destinies deserved its M-rating? OMG YES YES 1000X YES. I mean have you seen Athena trauma?

Apollo Justice appreciation post!
Tumblr media
I’m gonna ramble, and there will be MAJOR spoilers for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice. All under the cut. (There will be Trucy appreciation too, because she is amazing and I can’t avoid talking about that)
First off, when he finally meets his idol, Phoenix Wright, he’s defending the guy in court. Apollo’s boss, Kristoph Gavin, is the true killer in the case. To face the truth, Apollo has to indict his own boss and essentially forfeit his job. Jobless, he visits Phoenix’s law offices... only to find that Phoenix’s adopted daughter is the only one there, and even though she’s only 15, she’s the one bringing in the money. He gets roped into learning about a hit and run, then he’s told to find a missing noodle stand AND a pair of Trucy’s panties. He quickly finds out that Phoenix Wright is completely ridiculous, and his daughter is just as out there. When Apollo asks about payment, Phoenix and Trucy both laugh it off. Most people would have noped the fuck out.
Apollo is the only player character in the series who isn’t an over the top goofball. He tries so desperately to be serious in a world where no one else is. His first long-term rival, Prosecutor Klavier Gavin, is the cool one, and every time Apollo says anything inspiring, everyone is like “it would be cooler if Klavier said it.” (Also Apollo clearly has a crush on Prosecutor Gavin, but probably doesn’t realize it.)
Tumblr media
(Side note: in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, the one game where his name is present in the title, he gets almost no backstory. The game’s story is actually more about Phoenix.) Also, the way Trucy and Apollo’s relationship is foreshadowed is genius. They quickly start acting like siblings, despite being unaware that they are literally half-siblings.
Okay, now I’m gonna move onto Dual Destinies, which focuses on Athena Cykes (instead of giving Apollo a full backstory first). Despite his seniority, Athena gets infinitely more respect that Apollo. In fact, when playing as Phoenix in the DLC episode, Apollo’s profile description is “An ardent young lawyer in my agency. His special feature is his loud voice.” In that same episode, Athena’s description is “A new lawyer at my agency. She studied psychology while she was in Europe.” Phoenix doesn’t think much of Apollo, despite how much Apollo deserves appreciation. Apollo’s only addition backstory during Dual Destinies is about a childhood friend, Clay Terran. The two of them idolized a certain astronaut (a plot point that probably came from Apollo’s name coinciding with the Apollo 13 and other real historical spacecrafts). We don’t learn much about Apollo from that, aside from learning that he was an orphan for at least part of his childhood, and that his voice has always been loud and inspiring.
In Spirit of Justice, we finally learn more about his past. He grew up in the foreign kingdom of Khura’in, raised by the leader of a group of rebels. The main prosecutor of the game is essentially his stepbrother. He was brought to America (in the US localization) when he was around 10 years old and didn’t hear from them since. In the second episode of Spirit of Justice, Phoenix finally tells him something he should have said ages ago: that he believes in Apollo’s ability to defend Trucy.
My biggest complaint about the ending of Spirit of Justice is that Trucy and Apollo’s shared birth mother tells Phoenix she’s ready to tell the two of them. Conveniently for the writers, Apollo isn’t returning from Khura’in anytime soon. It bothers me so much that they left this loose end like that.
As of the end of Spirit of Justice, Apollo is literally the only defense attorney in Khura’in, and therefore he is overworked, overbooked, etc etc. And yet he’s the luckiest protagonist in that he has never been falsely accused of a crime. He has never been a defendant. But some pretty shitty things happen to him (like his best friend dying, getting knocked out from behind in an attempted murder, his stepfather managing to visit him only after being murdered, his first boss was the killer in his first case, etc etc etc). For being the only protagonist without being directly involved in a murder, he definitely gets the most shit.
tl;dr Apollo gets so much shit for trying to be serious. Phoenix is a bit emotionally abusive toward him for a while, and it’s kind of heartbreaking at times. He’s the only protagonist who struggles to maintain any semblance of dignity throughout every appearance. He deserves so much more than he gets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also I included a bunch of his animations because he’s so freaking adorable.
I rest my case.

More Things I’d Like In A(n) (im)Possible Season 3
A continuation of this post from last week.
Under the cut due to being ridiculously long. Also contains major spoilers for AJ:AA and minor spoilers for Spirit of Justice.
So, in Turnabout Stageplay, Apollo is arrested because he supposedly stole an important prop for an upcoming school play (even though we know the real culprit is actually a kleptomaniac bully named Lars Enie). During the night that he spends in solitary confinement, he has a nightmare of the night his father died and wakes up feeling nauseous. The guard on night shift feels really bad because Polly is only a little kid, and offers to take him to the washroom so Apollo doesn’t decorate the walls of his cell with his lunch. After that, the guard decides to help Apollo feel better by having him listen to some music. Polly chooses “The Guitar’s Serenade” because he’s a huge fan of Lamiroir’s music and it helps lull him to sleep during a rather difficult night
The next morning, Phoenix learns of the theft that happened and decides to pay Apollo a visit to learn more about what happened. Apollo is a little sleepy at first due to his rough night, so his vision is somewhat blurry and he simply mumbles, but as soon as he sees the lawyer in the blue suit sitting on the opposite side of the glass window, his sleepiness immediately vanishes because...it’s his idol, the legendary Phoenix Wright!!
Apollo: Are you Phoenix Wright? The legendary blue lawyer?
Phoenix: (Legendary? Since when was I legendary?) Uh, yeah. That’s me.
Apollo: I KNEW IT!! I can’t believe it! Me, sitting before the famous defense attorney! It’s like...it’s like... It’s like a dream come true!
Phoenix: Ahahaha... I see...
Apollo is so freaking excited to meet his idol in person that he lists down all the cases that he had been keeping track of, starting with the very trial when Phoenix cross-examined a parrot to figure out the unsolved DL-6 case and expose Manfred von Karma as the real killer of Gregory Edgeworth (in Turnabout Goodbyes). Phoenix is embarrassed by the notion that someone had been keeping track of all his cases, but also pleased to hear that he has a fan in the form of this 15-year-old teen
This kind of excitement is also why Apollo doesn’t hesitate to hire Phoenix as his lawyer for tomorrow’s trial. After all, Nick’s his idol and Polly wants to see for himself just what kind of a defense attorney he really is with his own eyes
Apollo: Please defend me in court tomorrow, Mr. Wright!
Phoenix: Alright then. If you say so. After all, I’d hate to see a fan of mine get the wrong verdict. (Wow, that happened fast...)
Apollo: Then it’s settled! You go and gather whatever evidence you need to prove my innocence. Oh, and don’t worry about me! My Chords of Steel and I will make sure you get the best, most honest possible testimony from us!
Phoenix: (...Chords of what?)
Nick is just completely baffled that Apollo would be so quick to trust him at first, but he then notes the look in Apollo’s eyes and thinks about the way they burn fiercely with determination...a look that reminds him of his old mentor, the late Mia Fey
Come the day of the trial, Apollo is surprised (and slightly disappointed) that Phoenix appointed Kristoph Gavin as Apollo’s defense attorney, but Nick reassures him and he’ll still defend him as Kristoph’s co-counsel
Apollo turns out to be a reliable client, and is able to debunk his own accusations by presenting his class schedule as evidence. The school play was part of the theater class, which Polly never took (he instead has a music class). It’s decisive evidence that helps Nick and Kristoph identify the real culprit as Lars Enie and nets Apollo a “Not Guilty” verdict
In the 2019 segment of Turnabout Succession, Apollo decides to take the day off by going to the courthouse library so he can study law and become a lawyer like Phoenix one day, like the little nerd/idol he is. Clay just tags along with him because, well, there’s no way he’s letting his best friend out of his sight
Along the way to the library, the boys stop at the defendant lobby where Zak Gramarye’s trial is being held. Apollo forgets about the library and decides to instead sneak in the courtroom through the gallery so he can see the trial taking place. Clay just puts duct tape over Apollo’s mouth because Apollo has NO INDOOR VOICE and Clay doesn’t want to take any chances and risk getting the both of them thrown out
Apollo: ?????????????? (Duct tape?! Clay, what the hell?!)
Clay: Sorry, Apollo, but this is for your own good. You’ll thank me later.
Apollo: (But...but...but my Chords of Steel! I-I thought you liked them!)
So the two of them are just sitting in the courtroom watching the trial go by. Well, Clay is; Apollo’s just trying to scratch a little bit of the stupid duct tape off of his mouth. He finally rips the duct tape off just in time to witness the judge calling out Phoenix for presenting the missing page from Magnifi’s diary, which was forged evidence. Apollo wants to say that Nick didn’t realize the evidence was forged, but he is so stunned by this revelation that he is at a complete loss of words. It’s only when Zak performs his disappearing trick that he screeches a huge “WHAT?!” This attracts the attention of the bailiff and they attempt to throw the boys out. The bailiff manage to capture Clay, but he distracts them long enough for Apollo to make his escape (he gets to the courtroom library and stays until the bailiff give up)
A little while after, Apollo spots Phoenix leaving the courthouse and manages to catch up to him. Phoenix isn’t interested in small talk, but Polly knows that it wasn’t Nick’s fault for presenting the forged evidence
Apollo: The Phoenix Wright I know would NEVER present forged evidence! You just...didn’t know, is all.
Apollo decides to come clean by admitting to Phoenix that his reason for becoming a defense attorney was to study what the law was so that he may one day meet his idol in court and find the truth together. Maybe they would’ve been able to find out who really was behind the murder of Magnifi Gramarye
Phoenix: It’s too late now. I’ve made a mistake...one that has cost me my entire career. And it’s a price I must pay.
Phoenix again attempts to talk out of it when Apollo suddenly recites the motto and gesture displayed by members of the Defiant Dragons: “A dragon never yields.” Nick is so confused over what is running through this boy’s mind, whether he’s that ditzy or just a little naive, but deep down he knows that Apollo’s heart burns fiercely with determination...a fire that, Phoenix thinks, won’t let anything try to extinguish it
The 2019 segment of Turnabout Succession ends with the events taking place seven years later and gradually leading up to Turnabout Trump. Phoenix, now a hobo, visits Kristoph Gavin’s law firm, reminiscing about the trial the two men had worked on together. Upon entering it, he meets Kristoph alongside Apollo, now a rookie defense attorney. Upon recognizing the bracelet around Apollo’s wrist, Phoenix decides to arrange a meeting with Zak Gramarye, now known as Shadi Smith, at the Borscht Bowl Club. Nick and Shadi discuss past events that transpired with Troupe Gramarye, including the accident that “claimed” the life of Thalassa Gramarye. It is revealed that Apollo - who was thought to have grown up as an orphan - is actually Thalassa’s long-lost son, and that he has a half-sister in the form of Phoenix’s adopted daughter Trucy Wright (née Trucy Enigmar due to Shadi being her biological father). While Phoenix muses on this revelation having no connection to what Apollo had said to him seven years ago, he does deduce that it could be the reason why he now wears one of his mother’s bracelets
Everything else is pretty much how it goes with the games, except the 2026 segment of Turnabout Succession is referred to as Turnabout Succession Returns
Listen, if the anime made Turnabout Big Top bearable, then it can make Turnabout Serenade just as good, maybe even better than the mess that it was in the games
That’s all for now! I may add another one if I get any more ideas.

for the send a character thing: Trucy!!
Slight spoilers for Spirit of Justice!!!
Hemlo Johnny thank you for stopping by
- I hate them / I don’t like them / I’m neutral / I’m ok with them / I like them / I love them / I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
- favorite thing about them
Her outfit!!! Her costume is adorable!!!!
- least favorite thing about them
While I don’t dislike Trucy’s playful attitude by any means, I imagine I’m too sensitive/take jokes too seriously and would probably freak out or get big mad if she pulled any of the pranks/teasing that she does on Apollo on me (like handing my diary to my dad or make fun of my hair all the time lol)
- ship(s)
Trupearl! It think it’s cute.
I’ve also heard of some Trucy x Bonny/Betty de Famme? I’m kinda iffy on it since the twins are 19 but they’re both teenagers so I guess maybe???
- BROTP(s)
Her and Apollo, naturally (in the closest sense of a BROtp)
ALSO Her and Klavier! Some of their promotional/official art together is cute and I imagine he humors her when it comes to any quick magic tricks or Apollo teasing.
- NOTP(s)
THIS IS AN ANTI APOLLO X TRUCY BLOG YALL NASTIES CAN GET
Also just shipping her with anyone that’s an adult is eeeuuuughghhghhg
- Game/case where I like them more
This is kinda tooough but I think the Magical Turnabout really exemplifies how much Trucy has matured. Plus, seeing her perform her magic trick for the court was really cool (especially for an audience of people that wanted her arrested and possibly executed!! SHE’S SO STRONG I LOVE HER)
- Random headcanon
OH GOD SO MANY but here’s one I love a lot:
Her and Apollo bond over anime/manga (since it seems like Apollo is a fan). Since Trucy seems to like to snoop through Apollo’s stuff (how did she get his diary, seriously???), she probably found his manga stash and bugs him about it later and gets into it herself. She loves fantasy/magical girl genres the most!
- Unpopular opinion
Hhhhmmm probably a couple? But I don’t think they really apply so much anymore BUUUUUT
Initially playing Apollo Justice, while I didn’t hate Trucy (I did think she was cute!), I kinda felt like she was a bit of a Maya copy since she was a playful, quirky teenager who teases the protagonist a lot. By the end of Apollo Justice, I didn’t think that was so true and I thought she was different enough from Maya and every other assistant girl to stand on her own.
I don’t think I fell out of love with Trucy so much as I was upset with her major flandarization in Dual Destines(PANTIES!!!!), which was probably a result of not being the assistant of that game. AND SHE WAS REDUCED TO A DAMSEL IN DISTRESS WHO’S KINDA BRUSHED OFF EVEN AFTER BEING HELD HOSTAGE
But those were my old opinions of her. My love is for her is very much back AND MUCH STRONGER as I continue playing through Spirit of Justice (Although I haven’t finished yet BUT I don’t think they’re gonna change again? We’ll see, I suppose!).

Alright, soo, in senior year of high school, I signed up for an elective science class right? It was fuckin’ forensic science, so yeah, I know a few CSI techniques, like, you ask me to dust somewhere for prints, I’ma fuck it up, but I know how it works.  But that year, the higher-level science classes had to do a fuckin presentation to the sophomores and shit, to encourage them to sign up for science classes even after they’d fulfilled their graduation reqs for science.
Anyways, one of the courses the presentation would involve was Forensic Science. I signed up to be in the presentation group so I could ditch classes the whole day, and it was pretty hype.
So, there were a bunch of science kids backstage, preparing little experiments and showcases to show to the audience; like, the chemistry kids had a small smokescreen, the AP Physics kids had something involving wind socks? And the fuckin Marine Bio kids had a fucking skull from a shark. I shit you not.
And then there was us. Forensic fucking Science. So, our teacher, Ms. P., she was in charge of hosting the damn show. So, I guess she was so caught up in the planning for it that she forgot to suggest a showcasing for us. So when the presentation team for Forensic Science, by far the largest group of six, compared to the other’s average of two or four, talked to our teacher to ask what we should say and/or do, she replied “I don’t know, improvise?”
So we improvise. Our routine got better throughout the day, but it would normally start like this: I say in my best creepy tone of voice “Hello everybody, we’re here to talk to you about murder,” and briefly go over what the rest of the people in my team would do, then they talk about the technical aspects and the activities, a little bit of what we learn, one guy makes a reference to pop culture, and then we finish it off with a shitty pun. Then we’d go backstage again and wait until the last presentation, Marine Bio, finished up their part, and go back onstage to answer any questions the audience might have about the classes.
Now, we didn’t really have much visual aid, compared to the other sciences. The AP Chem kids wowed people with their home made smokescreen, the Physics kids did some kind of breathplay shit, and the Marine Bio guy let the audience pass the shark head around so they could get a better look at it.
The most riveting thing my group had was, apparently, me. Like, really. Standing next to the other forensic science kids, I was basically Abby from NCIS, meaning I stood the fuck out my dyed hair and actual Forensic Science class shirt I wore just for the occasion, and I behaved in the most weird/interesting manner I could manage. So naturally when we go back up on stage for the Q&A session, the one person who had questions about Forensic Science, directed his questions towards me. Now, that shouldn’t be a problem for someone who knew shit about the class.
The thing is, it was fuckin me. I didn’t know JACK SHIT. So I had to fuckin improvise.
“What kind of cases do you get in Forensic Science?”
Fuck. Shit. We haven’t done any mock crime scenes yet. Fuck.
“Well, we uh... We get a huge variety of cases, scenarios, situations and the like, Ms.P. changes it up all the time. ...Uh, you feel me?”
Then someone else stepped in to save my dumb ass, and I hung my head and moped back to the group. Everyone finished up asking their questions, and we had to remain on stage while the audience filed out to leave.
But then, the Marine Bio guy dashed up to the mic podium and worriedly said, “Yo wait, guys, where’s the shark head?”
He never got the shark head back.
So the Marine Bio guy’s freaking out, he jumps off the stage to look for the shark head, and the Ms. P. turns to me and says, in the most serious tone of voice, the funniest thing anyone hasever said to me:
“Find the head.”
And after a few objections, I left to lead the Forensic Science team to find the head.
Since I’m a shitty leader, they didn’t listen to me, so I tried to profile the crowd on my own.
So after several disastrous attempts at finding the shark head, a guy from the Forensic Science team, Don, says “Guys, I found the head.”
Turns out one of the guy’s friends was the last one to hold the head, so he just snuck backstage and left it on the Marine Bio guy’s bag.

Hey, Ray! It's thanks to your videos on the 3DS release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney that I got into the series. After the first trial of Turnabout Goodbyes, I decided to buy the trilogy for myself, and I had a great time with all three games! It was the characters' personalities and developments that kept me engaged with the stories they had to tell, so I'm curious. Who are your favourite characters in the series and why?
Hey, glad to hear it! The Ace Attorney games are a lot of fun and remain the only visual novel series I can easily get into, so I’m glad others can find it just as accessible.
There are a lot of characters in this series that I like, both major and minor, throughout the entirety of the series, so I’m rather spoilt for choice. So I think it’d be best to list my Top 3 under three categories - Legacy(main characters across the whole main series), Pre-Apollo Justice(characters from the original trilogy and the Investigations games), and Apollo Justice onward. Likely spoilers on this list, but I’ll try to keep them light.
LEGACY
1. Maya Fey - I think it’s pretty safe to say Maya’s my favorite character in the whole series. She’s cute, her antics are hilarious, she has great banter with much of the main cast, and she goes through so much turmoil in only 3 years(ranging from losing loved ones, being tried for murder multiple times, and being kidnapped), and even more when she returns for Spirit of Justice, yet sticks it out with a smile and a grin no matter how bleak it gets.
She always tries to be helpful and shoulders a lot of burden when she feels she’s let people down(mostly Phoenix). She acts playful and junk when it comes to her becoming the next Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique, but she certainly understands the gravity of it as the games go on and we learn more about her and her family, ultimately embracing her title as Master come Spirit of Justice; at this point she’s 28 years old now, yet is still the same cheerful happy-go-lucky spirit medium we’ve all come to be familiar with. She even manages to utilize her powers in clever applications several times to either help herself or others get out of a jam. She’s a well-written, fun, and engaging character and I’m looking forward to what Capcom does with her next.
(also she looks so freaking cool in Spirit of Justice, look at her!)
2. Miles Edgeworth - Edgeworth is another dude who benefits from having so much character development in the main series and his spinoff games, going from an antagonistic jerkface with a smug streak, to a morally conflicted lawyer seeking his true purpose in the law world at large, to being a genuine rival and friend to Phoenix in their search of finding the truth in cases, which makes it all the more incredible when he was intended to be a one-off unlikable boss character in his initial appearance in the first game. He’s smooth, he has great wit and top dialogue, and it’s all the more hilarious when he makes simple blunders and loses his composure. You really do get to appreciate the nuances in his character as it gradually changes with each game in the series, and the payoff being fantastic post-AJ.
Investigations 2 gets special mention as it goes to great strides to show Edgeworth’s legal conflict when his badge and methods get called into question, suggesting he is more like a defense attorney than a prosecutor. Despite all odds he is unfettered and continues to pursue the truth by carving his own path instead of embracing the teachings of his father Gregory, or mentor Manfred von Karma, to the hilt.
3. Ema Skye - Here’s a character that isn’t as utilized as the other two and was retconned into existence post-original trilogy, yet still managed to be much more than a Maya expy. She’s introduced as a replacement for her in the added Case 5 for the DS port of the first game - plucky, bright, and really into science and forensics, and is looking to learn more about these to help solve crimes, starting with clearing her sister’s name of murder. She eventually gets to study abroad and is ready to apply her earned knowledge into action come Investigations(which was supposed to be her game but eh, it worked out for Edgy in the end)…
…And then we see her again in AJ and she’s just a detective, bitter that she failed her exam to become a forensic investigator and her personality change becomes all the more sad and real. Even so, her eyes still light up whenever she gets a chance to practice her skills, and when she returns in Spirit of Justice, now a full-fledged forensic investigator, her cheerfulness, inquisitive nature, and plucky attitude return in full force, and I get so giddy seeing Ema be so happy after her sour streak two games prior. Like Maya, Ema always tries to be the bright spot if she can lend a hand to a friend, and she’s such a fangirl of Edgeworth, even in SoJ.
Me personally, I’m waiting for some genuine chill interaction between Ema and Maya in a future title. (aside from the very end of the DLC case in Spirit of Justice, we never get to see the two interact much on amicable terms, which made me sad.)
PRE-APOLLO JUSTICE
1. Adrian Andrews(Justice For All/Trials and Tribulations) - JFA was a game full of problems, but Case 4 was not one of them. Headlining a great deal of that case was Adrian, manager to the accused, Matt Engarde and stellar Samus Aran cosplayer. She starts off cold, confrontational, and analytical but is a classic and rather tragic defrosting ice queen. She was left devastated after her close friend and mentor(sister in the anime) Celeste Inpax commits suicide after a skeezy and petty love triangle with her, Engarde, and his rival Juan Corrida goes horribly awry, which almost drove Adrian to commit suicide herself after losing her pillar of strength(Adrian has a dependency issue). This is brutally dragged out in court in order to get her to talk about her role in tampering with the crime scene of the main case, and it just about leaves her as a broken mess.
Fortunately for her, the truth about the crime comes out and exonerates her as being a potential murderer, but still has to do jail time for her role mentioned above. She doesn’t mind though and we see her with a smile on her face to show that she is now free of grief and ready to move on. Her debt is paid seven months later, as we see her again in Case 2 of T&T having done her time, which a much sunnier disposition and outwardly friendly towards Phoenix(who she was at odds with for most of Case 4 in JFA). We even getting to see more of her real self - still meticulous, but now helpful yet very clumsy and prone to making slip-ups as a result. I know a few people who have suicidal thoughts, and it’s very disparaging to see a woman like her so broken in JFA, but so refreshing to see her be so better off in T&T, as seeing Adrian smile is a wonderful feeling. As far as incidentals are concerned, she’s my favorite of the original trilogy. (and it made me feel all the more sorry for her seeing her squirm in despair animated in the anime)
- 1b. Lana Skye(Ace Attorney - Rise from The Ashes) - Ema’s older sister and the accused of Case 5 of the first game. I’m putting this here because Lana shares many traits with Adrian - mannerisms, troubled past, and desperation to hide said past from others(in Lana’s case it’s to hide it from her sister instead of herself). They even look similar to one another, haha. She goes from being a skilled attorney to Chief Prosecutor, but is actually more of a puppet being stringed along by the mastermind of the crime and has done some very morally grey things in regards to her troubled past, all to make sure to protect Ema’s innocence even if it damns her own image. It wouldn’t be fair if I mentioned one and not the other because of how similar both Lana and Adrian are as characters, so why not.
Also I really like Lana’s prosecutor design and wished she showed up or got referenced to in future games along with Ema.
2. Dick Gumshoe - He doesn’t appear in AJ onward except in a flashback, otherwise I’d consider him a Legacy character. Gumshoe is the Maya to Edgeworth’s Phoenix before Kay Faraday; a bumbling, scatterbrained detective, and the posterboy for pistolwhipped butt monkey who’s always in danger of having his salary slashed, but he’s a helpful dude and always pulls through at the last second when it counts, pal. There really isn’t much I can say about him, as he’s very much a self-demonstrating example, but he’s so much fun that I don’t think it matters.
What really makes Gumshoe so much fun for me is how much of a foil he is to Edgeworth and his interactions with him in general, as well as the lengths he’s willing to go to help him out. Investigations made it clear that he has no less than infinite respect for him from the moment they met, seen in Case 4, and more or less weighs on him hand and foot from then on. Edgeworth may find some of his antics irritating, but nonetheless considers him a reliable asset and welcome ally to help solve cases, likely due to how dependable he is in critical moments. Even when he’s in danger of losing his job or is kicked off the case, he still finds ways to help the cause, either by himself or by enlisting Phoenix’s help(to the point that part of me wonders what’d happen if Nick actually hired him to work at the office). He’s a good man, loyal to his job and his supervisor, and I can’t help but admire the man.
3. Shi-Long Lang(Investigations 1 and 2) - Hugh Jackman and his Wolf Fang Fist! Lang’s more or less Edgeworth’s rival in these games(moreso the first) and is very much an “act now, debate later” fellow, whose ideology comes to blows with Edgeworth’s more than a few times, and in his haste often makes a few leaps in judgement that punches holes in his logic. At the same time, he’s a badass Interpol agent with a boa collar coat, a smooth theme, and is a father to his very loyal police force. Despite conflicting ideologies, he’s still able to help Edgeworth out from time to time, even if it’s not for his sake but for Lang’s own or the case at large. And when things get serious, oh boy is he ready to throw down(see both Case 5s). He’s a pretty simple dude, but I just really like him.
(also it takes some balls to be able to block Franziska’s whip midlash)
APOLLO JUSTICE ONWARD
1. Apollo Justice - Wow, surprise! I like the main character of this arc! To be perfectly honest, I liked Apollo in his home game, but didn’t think much of him at the time as he was more or less in the back seat for 40% of his own game, while Phoenix did the rest of the work for him and usurped glory that should’ve gone to him alone.
That all changed starting with Dual Destinies and especially with Spirit of Justice.
Apollo was intended to be Phoenix’s replacement as he starts his own thing, but Capcom exec mandates forced Nick to be included in AJ and he was shafted some prime opportunities for establishing character development and backstory, only really getting some hints about his heritage to another character. Dual Destinies gives him a best friend who instilled a backstory for his rather quirky catchphrase “I’m fine!”, turning it into something heartwarming when he reveals they used to shout it to one another to lift their moods, and then made Apollo go on the warpath when he learns of his pal’s death and who might be responsible for it. Expanded even further in the next game where we finally find out about Apollo’s upbringing, his biological and foster fathers, and his relation to the local prosecutor Nahyuta Sahdmahdi. These events put my boy in the spotlight, who proves by the end of the game that he’s more than capable to walk tall with the big boys. He goes from being a loud and hot-blooded youth to being a worthy member of the Wright Anything Agency Triuumverate, to eventually standing on his own as a bonafide lawyer.
SoJ was the best thing to happen to this kid, and I’m so glad he was able to rise to the challenge.
2. Simon Blackquill(Dual Destinies/Spirit of Justice) - Simon is the local prosecutor for DD and makes a welcome extended cameo in SoJ. He’s a prison inmate, but gets to do the lawyering thing from the slammer because he’s just that good. His main deal is that he serves as an antagonistic force to Athena as Edgeworth was to Nick and Klavier to Apollo, and he was a bit of an edgy dude himself being a swordsman and styled like a samurai, always quick with his razor-sharp wit AND razor-sharp wind, commanding his pet hawk to handle evidence, SILENCE-ing the crowd, and using his psychological knowledge to play the situation to his advantage. He was also a jerk for most of DD.
Point at hand here is that while I thought the game was playing up his psyche knowledge a little too much(he came off more as a more intense version of AA!Edgeworth instead), he was still a wonder to witness. He’s a delightful smartass with a really cool theme and I dug the swordsman motif. Dude even breaks free of his shackles multiple times whenever he’s ready to make a serious statement. Eventually we find out that he was framed for the death of Athena’s mother(of course) and is acquitted by DD’s end. Though it was a little hokey, I did get a great feels moment between and Athena and thought nothing else of it.
And then he shows up in SoJ to assist Athena in Case 4. Here, all limiters are off - he’s a full snarkmaster with excellent comebacks, such as calling Nahyuta “Sad Monk” constantly, SILENCEs him, and even tells Athena to get her act in gear in a great moment when she breaks down in the middle of the case. This case made me appreciate Simon a hell of a lot more, and it showed that he was a great foil and aloof big brother figure to Athena when they’re on the same side for once. He’d better come back for more!
3. Dhurke Sahdmahdi(Spirit of Justice) - THIS FUCKING GUY. Introduced as the possible culprit of Queen Amara’s assassination of the Kingdom of Khura'in and insinuator of starting the rebellion against its corrupt legal system, we eventually find out that he’s actually Apollo’s foster father and is the most real, coolest guy ever. Seriously, I adore this dude. He’s such a nice, chill guy and a respectable father figure, constantly lamenting that he wasn’t able to be in Apollo’s life more often due to him being a wanted man. Case 5 is a roller coaster of intensity, and Dhurke helps bring out a lot of fun in that case. I can’t say anymore without going into heavy spoilers, but by playing the game all the way through, you’ll understand why I love this man so much.
It should be noted that SoJ’s Khura'in segments being so unrelentingly bleak for the first half of the game was actually turning me off from playing it, as I became gradually more and more apathetic to the kingdom’s plight and was in fact dangerously close to dropping the game for a while as I was getting impatient and disinterested… until the backstory bomb dropped about Dhurke and Apollo halfway through Case 3. This instantly revitalized my curiosity about the two and their relationship and helped push me to complete the game. Long story short, the payoff was damn well worth it, and Dhurke footed that bill personally.
Also he’s voiced by freaking Jamieson Price. Bless this dragon who never yields.
HONORABLE MENTION - Athena Cykes - I mentioned a few years back that Athena was a character who when she was first introduced, I had apprehension toward, as I was forebodingly expecting her to be a super annoying sidekick or supporting character. Her design, which I thought was silly at first but has now grown on me immensely, did not help at the time. Then Dual Destinies came out and I was immensely surprised at how much I enjoyed her character.
Let’s be honest, DD was Athena’s game. Even though she, Nick, and Apollo were tritagonists, its story centered around her and she was featured prominently in every case, DLC included. As a whole, this was Athena’s story. People may have differing opinions whether or not this was warranted or justified, especially when it meant pushing AJ alumni to the side, but Athena kept proving her salt in each case regardless - whether it’s by serving as the heart for Phoenix or Apollo, or getting dirty herself to save her close friend Juniper, twice, she was ready to help out.
I have a very delicate tolerance when it comes to Genki Girl characters - if done properly, I pretty much love them on the spot; if done poorly, I want to wring their necks out of existence. It all depends on how well the girl in question exerts her energy. And to my surprise, Athena passed with flying colors. She’s excitable, competitive, and eccentric, with just a pinch of sass. She’s also really impetuous, but remains focused enough to deliver a good argument, especially when it comes to using her heightened hearing to dispel one’s discord in their heart. When the pressure is too much, she breaks down and regresses back to her sheltered childhood state where she becomes emotionally repressed and almost catatonic, yet even in her darkest hour she fights against the pain.
I found myself enjoying Athena’s character arc a lot in DD and really grew to like her more and more. Her willingness to help stems from her relationship with Simon and wanting to set him free by proving he didn’t murder her mother, as they were close friends prior to that event, and I genuinely wanted to see her succeed. Outside of her heavy plot, she’s a fun character and, I’ll be honest, I’m thankful her role was toned down to a more supportive one in SoJ to let the AJ alumni shine(and boy howdy do they ever).
Oof, that was a lot to get off my chest, but I hope this was satisfactory for you, anon!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice
WARNING: I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL GAME REVIEWER, GAME CRITIC, OR WRITER. The following is just purely my opinion and reaction to the game. Also, ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. So, yeah, I’m sure there will be a grammar mistake somewhere there. Please don’t be a grammar nazi. Lastly, THIS WILL NOT BE AN ENTIRELY SERIOUS REVIEW. Yay. *insert cute puppy face*
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING. The games I am reviewing belong to their respective owner(s). I DON’T GAIN ANY PROFIT FROM THIS, EITHER.
Tumblr media
seeing your previous player character on the other side of the courtroom would make anyone scream
Okay, first, let me lay down some rationale for this game. The Ace Attorney franchise is really, really close to my heart. If Pokemon holds my past and my childhood, the Ace Attorney holds the key to my future – as dramatic as it sounds. The Ace Attorney is what pushed me to take the path of being a lawyer. Of course, it’s not the whole reason (I’m not too keen on putting my whole life and future over a single game, after all), the other is the desire to change all the stupid things that is happening around me. But still, it is what introduced me to the greatness of law, the importance of finding the truth, and the great feeling of satisfaction you get once you have found it.
Tumblr media
note to self: don’t fangirl too much and read the important details. seriously.
CHARACTERS:
The Legend, Phoenix Wright
Let me say one thing, it’s really, really weird facing Phoenix in a courtroom battle. For five games, I’ve played as him, and then suddenly we’re battling against him as Apollo in a civil case!? I mean, we all anticipated it ever since we briefly controlled Edgeworth in Trials and Tribulations and acted as a Defense Attorney, but seeing the legendary Phoenix Wright on the other side of the courtroom is still surprising.
And scary. Definitely scary. Seeing Phoenix frown seriously, smirk and do a complete turnabout (which, normally is a good thing for us since we’re normally him) made Apollo (and us, the player) really quake in his boots. It’s like he’s getting back for all the abuse he received for being the butt monkey of the courtroom for the past 4 games!
Other than the very memorable Case 4, Phoenix goes back to being on our side again for the rest of the cases. I especially love the fact that even though 8 or so years has passed; Phoenix’s protectiveness over Maya has never failed. He went to another freaking country just because of a phone call for her! He fought on the wrong side of the truth (which is basically the opposite of his whole values) for her! He knowingly risked his life over her (though then again, this part’s nothing new)!
Every girl needs a Phoenix in her life, man. (NaruMayo ship: *sails*)
Tumblr media
serious!Phoenix would make anyone tremble
Courtroom Revolutionaire, Apollo Justice
Okay, first of all, let me clarify; I KNOW THAT THIS TITLE BELONGS TO ATHENA. But it just fits, you know? (Also, I don’t know how to spell.)
I don’t care that the title of the game says Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney; Apollo is the real star of this game (it’s like the reversed version of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, where the real conflict is about Phoenix.). I believe in the wandering fan theory that this last three games (Apollo Justice: AA, AA: Dual Destinies, and AA: Spirit of Justice) is about Apollo, similar to how the first three games (Phoenix Wright: AA, AA: Justice for All and AA: Trials and Tribulations) is about Phoenix.
And man, how those three games did a wonderful job building up Apollo into the brave little bird he is now. AJ shows how he starts as a rookie defense attorney, DD shows his high school-college past (aka Clay MY GOD *eternal crying*), and lastly, SoJ shows his childhood and ends in how he starts being a professional defense attorney (thus, making a complete, albeit reversed, circle).
Spirit of Justice shows a lot of tearjerker, heart-pulling and gasp-inducing scenes for Apollo that at this point in time I don’t know how he managed to not break down. Oh wait, he did break down, he even have a new, special animation for it. And my god that scene… I didn’t shed a single tear at that point, because I was just so horrified and overwhelmed and whatishappeningisthisreallyhappening. Yeah, that feeling. (I did cry, a lot, but at the later point of the game since it took time for my mind to acknowledge that ohmyggoditreallyhappenedhuuuHUHUHUHU-)
So yeah. Apollo really received his most-deserved characterization and development in this game.
The Funeral Prosecutor, Nahyuta Sahdmadhi
Nahyuta. Nahyuta… Is my baby. Because, really, he’s just so cute and naiive in some of the things! I mean sure, he’s really nasty, but so are the other prosecutors and you don’t see me hating on them (in fact Franziska is totally my role model). But we can’t all deny the fact that he’s really kind and gentle on other people, look at Ema for instance (it’s clear that he likes her btw, I just can’t decide if it’s platonic or romantic, since my KlEma heart’s really against it).
And just like any main prosecutors in any games, Nahyuta receives wonderful characterization and character development as the game progresses. Similar to Apollo, a lot of tearjerker scenes is about him, especially when you discover how much has he sacrificed for his family…
And Nahyuta’s totally an overprotective brother to Rayfa. I can’t wait to see the next game just to see their post-game interactions.
Tumblr media
look at this two original assistant babies turning to mature babies
The Ace Assistant, Maya Fey
MAYA. SHE’S BACK. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
Ace Attorney fans have fully risen from the dead the moment the trailer showed Maya returning for this game. It’s what we have been wishing for in these past two games! Our beloved Ace Assistant is back! And partnered with Phoenix no less! Sarcastic conversations! Funny interactions! Ladders vs. Stepladders!
Our original Ace Attorney duo is back! AAAAAAAAA-
But still, of course 8 years have passed, so it’s inevitable for Maya to change. Even though most of the time she’s still childish and funny, there are still many scenes scattered all around the game that shows her all grown up that you can’t help but remember her older sister, Mia. The game shows Mature Maya, the Leader of the Kurain Village.
Also, the Spirit Channeling scene is very, very beautiful. I’m glad that we actually saw it for the first time.
Tumblr media
lil’ princess is just so cute!
The Priestess, Rayfa Padma Khura’in
Princess Rayfa is a cinnamon roll. A tsundere cinnamon roll, and that what makes her a very cute and wonderful and funny assistant.
Serious talk though, Rayfa is the youngest (except for Ahlbi) character to be introduced in this game, and it shows. Although she acts all high-and-mighty and incredibly mature due to her status as a priestess, there are times that her childishness shows true. And I think it’s completely okay – and Phoenix and Maya does to. She tries too hard to immediately grow up , but what she doesn’t know is that being true to your age gives you wonders too.
And, oh god, the pressure given to her by her mother… I can totally relate.
That scene when she was asked to show her (adoptive) father’s death in a Divination Séance… it made me cry for Rayfa [seriously, this game made me cry a lot]. Sure, we’ve seen her faint a lot of the times, but it’s only for dramatics; to show how horrified she was that we beat her. But that scene… is the real deal. We actually saw Rayfa going pale, gasping for air, eyes wide… and faints. It’s – just – so heartbreaking…
Tumblr media
can we all just cry
The Dragon, Dhurke Sahdmadhi
Oh my gosh, where do I even start.
*cries*
My first impression of Dhurke during the trailer was he’s the typical rebel antagonist in a game. And it continued on as we first got a glance on him at the end of the second trial.
Oh boy am I glad to be wrong.
I admit – Dhurke has not been a particularly good father to Apollo. Sure he’s got his reasons, being busy with the rebellion and all, but imagining a little Apollo hoping for his father to show up, pick him up and get him out of his misery – yet incredibly devastated as later, he will know that no one will show up, really broke my heart. Apollo did not deserve that. No child deserves that.
But oh man, he still loves Apollo. He loves Nahyuta. He loves Rayfa. He loves his children – anyone playing the game can see that. He just shows it in a different way, but every action he takes – it’s for the sake of his family. (Nahyuta really is similar to his father)
SPOILER
Too bad he’s not even alive. I can’t believe all the time we’ve spent with him as Apollo is… not exactly a lie, the interactions with him is the truth – he loves Apollo. But… you know.
Imagining his thought process while he was being spirit channeled by Maya and spending time with his son he had only seen now for the past two decades… is very depressing.
The Childhood Duo, Athena Cykes and Simon Blackquill
I admit, I am disappointed with these two. Well, not these two exactly, they’re perfect just the way they are (I MEAN CAN YOU BELIEVE IT SIMON AND ATHENA TEAMING UP. THE PSYCHOLOGY CHILDHOOD FRIENDS, DEFENSE-PROSECUTOR DUO IS TEAMING UP AAAAAA-), but I’m more sad in the roles they are given. More specifically, the wasted potential of their roles.
The theme of the whole game is inheritance. Inheritance from parent to child, and inheritance from teacher to student. And Athena and Simon’s ace – Psychology – is literally that, an inheritance from Metis Cykes!
They don’t need to create a whole batch of other characters. I’m not saying the Rakugo case sucks – it’s very new considering we have another Japanese culture-themed case; and the fact that a psychological disease (the multiple personalities stuff) is the main turning point of this case makes it a perfect case for Simon and Athena – but maybe they should have used it for the next game?
Athena and Simon were only introduced in the last game – so I’m definitely hungry for more backstory and deeper characterization for these two wonderful characters. And what better way for us to get to know more about theme more intimately than to get to know these two’s most important person, Metis Cykes, and her gift to them?
But hey – I’m complaining but I’m not particularly shunning these two and Case 3. As I said, Case 3 is a wonderful and genius case (but what would you expect from Ace Attorney, right?). It’s just that, the potential…
The Game
So far, this game has the largest amount of ‘gimmicks’ or ‘powers’ featured. Phoenix’s Magatama, Apollo’s bracelet, Athena’s Widget, Ema’s Forensic stuff, and the newly introduced Rayfa’s Divination Séance. I think the only missing power is Edgeworth’s Logic Chess, and we have the complete set!
Each of them is unique and special in their own way, and they definitely made the game much more exciting and enjoyable. OF course, the traditional courtroom battle is as hard, mysterious and exciting as ever!  I cannot even predict who the culprit was in the start of the case, and if it was obvious who did it (like, it was showed in the initial cutscene or was directly implied), I can’t figure out how he/she did it without the help of the character I’m acting as. Which is a new thing for me, since in the past games, I already know who the real culprit is even before the player character knows. Well, most of the time, at least.
And the plot, oh the plot was absolutely complicated and mind blowing it’s wonderful. The family drama is as – if not more – dramatic than the T&T one. And that’s saying something, considering that the Fey clan’s story is really complicated too. And as I mentioned earlier, this game gave meat for the characterization of several characters.
Also, it made me cry probably around ten times.
 FINAL REMARKS
DO I EVEN HAVE TO? GO PLAY IT. Though if you still haven’t play the previous games yet, do that first THEN PLAY THIS. THE STORY IS GOOD. THE GAMEPLAY IS AWESOME. THE CHARACTERS ARE WONDERFUL. *eternal scream*
FINAL NOTES: I’M SORRY IF I MISSED ANYTHING. What I wrote here are the things that really stood out to me. My aim is not to review everything about the game, but to write what I remember the most and what my reaction to it. If I did react to the whole game, it would take about 20 pages or so in MS word. (This is 4 pages, btw)
