wikipedia says that dylan signed onto friends of chile bc they werent getting enough tickets (and therefore made the concert sell out bc of his presence) but i also i have heard that it was already decently full even before dylan signed on

#dylan is a strange man and even though he was hesitant bc he didnt want to go back to protest singer era dylan #who was a contemporary of ochs #he still signed on #it seems as though that even though he wanted to distance himself from that era he seemed more confident in his own work esp during that era #nd thats where we see the friends of chile concert + dylans involement with rubin carter #bc the late sixties and early seventies were strange for dylan he didnt really have a footing in his own musical style #which he would refocus by the end of his marriage w sarah and the bloodon the tracks era #this post is going nowhere . goodnight
