just learned about how they apparently re-released a shorter version of the stargate sg-1 pilot as a direct to video movie like 12 years after it initially aired, with a bunch of scenes and dialogue taken out?? and possibly actors re-dubbing lines or re-filming things to be less iconic...??? i haven’t seen any of the stargate movies except The stargate movie, but absolutely everything i hear about them makes it seem like a series of the most improbable choices ever released on dvd. this is the direct opposite vibe of every other re-master of a beloved classic show. who green-lit this. who sat in a room like you know what? fuck you. *un-directors your cut*
