I haven't written a multi chapter fic since 2015. I've written fic since then but a multi chapter cohesive story was last written in 2015.
I'm kinda nervous about this one I wrote during Nanowrimo. I don't know why cause it's really no different than the single fics I've written. Just more words that I decided to break up into chapters to make it manageable for anyone who decided to read it.
I generally do write for myself. My drive is filled with drafts and ideas that will never see the light of day that I read every now and then. I think the way fandom has become since I first started posting my fics publicly is becoming a little disheartening.
I miss when folks would drop into your replies or inbox or DMs and gush about your fic or your characters. How folks would send asks just telling you small things they love about your OCs or fic or headcanons or meta. How folks used to make OC or fic or writer rec posts and share more in general. How folks would participate in tag events or share all the things and spread the love around. I always found some gems (and a lot of my moots) that way since the tags were a clusterfuck back then and have only gotten worse now.
I miss the headcanon and meta folks would create and share with the community that could spark some insightful discussion and interesting perspective. Not this weird disk horse shit that happens too often now because folks don't know how to distinguish HC and fanon and in-game events and think everybody is supposed to adhere to "canon" or fanon like it's the word of God or something...GTFOHWTS.
I wish the community of fandom would come back home 😥
