It's so easy to convince ourselves that what somebody else has achieved means that we cannot achieve our own dreams, goals or aspirations. As if there wasn't enough room for your gift to sit in the midst of others. As well, we look at others achieving something and we look at it as a promise that it will happen that way for us. Especially when you see someone flourishing in a path that you deemed yours. Both of these ideas can cause one to become restless, anxious, impatient, ungrateful and complacent. The truth of the matter is, we all have gifts. We all have a calendar that is unique to us and our capabilities. You're striving so much to be or not be like others, you forget to just be you. You don't realize that by simply being you and simply following your own compass, your gift will make room for you. The reason it hasnt is because you're too busy trying to be someone you aren't.
