the thing is there is a Taejodae and a Taejo and a Taejong and a Goguryeo and a Goryeo and a Balhae and a Baekje (not trying to claim legitimacy by invoking each other just bad for me personally) and two separate prince uks (same dad) who both became posthumous kings after their son took the throne & one of those sons was the other one's grandson and i think the uk-uk progeny also married a bunch of maternal-grandpa-uk's grandaughters and so introducing McCune-Reischauer to my quest to untangle goryeo royal family drama has been an experience for me. translation is such a miracle and i am so grateful but also i'm crying at the club (interlibrary loan request form).
