I know it's like halfway through the year but I'm going to make myself a resolution to do my art the way I want that makes me happy. Absolutely fuck trying to be "marketable" or "appealing" at this point

Because let's be honest, my traditional/digital hybrid artwork is the kind of quality I aspire for it to be.

With the traditional aspect I can make it as detailed and it's easier for me to sketch out more intricate stuff and features and really opens up possibilities to make it as fluid as possible.

It's got the grittiness and the high quality and feel I want for my art to be and honestly I like it that way. It's not trying to fit into anything or appeal to anyone and if anything I feel a lot of joy from it.

This trad/digi hybrid art style is unironically inspired by how Kazuki Takahashi did traditional lines/sketches and colored them digitally as well as the grittiness of Tetsuya Nomura's current art style, two of my hugest inspirations for art.

Will I still make digital lineart? Absolutely for bases. But for my general art I think I found something that's more authentic to me than anything else.
