January 2023 - William Bay National Park, near Denmark, Western Australia

After Bluff Knoll, our last stop before heading back to Perth was Denmark. Since we were passing through Mt. Barker again, we had to make another stop at the bakery and got ourselves another cheesecake!

We had some time before sunset so we went to check out Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks at William Bay National Park. It was a nice drive with more tree canopies as we got closer so it was a nice change in scenery.

A bonus neither of us expected was that we saw waterfall beach on the map and we hadn't seen any waterfalls yet on the road trip so we had to check it out. It turned out to be the best part of our stop at William Bay National Park!

At first I was like…uh…you call that a waterfall? But then it was the perfect size to be almost like an outdoor shower and the cold clean water was so refreshing especially after sweating from our climb up Bluff Knoll!

Road to Denmark WA

Breakaway... escape and breath, explore! Stop and take it in.

That’s the magic of holidays down under. You re-set and remember who you were when you were carefree. You come back home and try to stay that person - slow it down, strip it back... but life always gets the better of you.

Sounds familiar? Holiday blues, right?

Well, there comes a time when the person you’ve become and the person that you want to be just don't reconcile given your time and space. You can't change time... but you can change your space and what surrounds you - and this is exactly what we did.

In early 2016, John and I just said - screw this, we’re moving to a place that we connect with, to live a simpler life. Now we escape and breath every day; and any opportunity we get we drive out to magical places, we stop and we take it in.

We know country lifestyle is not for everyone, but we want to share our escapades because we believe this region is so enriched and enriching that most people will find something relatable. We love Denmark and its surrounds, follow us to discover something you might love too!
