The Winchesters Locations Master Post

This post houses a collection of links to my locations posts for each episode of The Winchesters. There is also a link to a master Google map of all known locations.

There are currently three elements for each episode:

A post of Then and Now photos, comparing screenshots from the episode to my own photos of the locations I have visited.

A map of all the known locations from the episode with screenshots and a key indicating which are able to be visited.

A post of the locations that remain unidentified from the episode, if any.

The maps and unidentified location posts are updated regularly as I track down additional locations. Note: I generally only include the exterior locations and any obviously public interiors (restaurants, bars, etc.). Interiors, by and large, are excluded as they are a) pretty much impossible to identify, b) probably private property and c) often a set in the studio.

If anyone has questions about a location or recognizes one of the unidentified locations, I’d love to hear from you - just drop a line in my ask box!

For anyone planning a trip to New Orleans to visit locations, and looking to see multiple locations in an area, you may find this Google Map of all known locations more useful than looking at individual episode maps. Like the individual maps, it’s still a work in progress as long as there are unidentified locations but it is a complete list of what is currently known.

Thanks for your work with the locations! The Winchester garage is about 20 minutes from our house and on the way we happen to notice the parking lot they have all the 70s cars and even two of Carlos‘s vans parked! They are apparently still filming because all the signs are still up on the gas station and the office is still full of all the props and set up . Thanks again will share more pictures if you’d like.

These are fantastic photos - I’d love to see any others you have!! I’m so glad the locations were helpful. And what a cool find on the parking lot!

They are definitely still filming at least into January. Maybe you’ll get lucky and happen by when they are shooting one day!

The Winchesters 1x01 Pilot Map

In case anyone was wondering if I was going to continue my Supernatural location hunting adventures over to The Winchesters, the answer is yes! And locations from the pilot are almost all identified. Just two I haven't tracked down yet.

Unlike Supernatural, which filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, The Winchesters films in New Orleans, Louisiana, so the locations are scattered across New Orleans, a small town called Amite north of the city, Westwego which is on the western side of the Mississippi and a couple spots headed further west in Edgard. Most are in public areas, so should be great for visiting. The big exception is Fort Macomb where they filmed the interior scenes in the tomb as that is an old Civil War fort not open to the public. You can also only see the outside of the building where they filmed the Men of Letters clubhouse in the pilot.

I got to most of the visitable Pilot locations on my trip to New Orleans for SPNNOLA but didn't make it up to Amite, so a second visit will be required at some point.

The Winchesters 1x13 Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye Map

Great group of locations in this episode, and 100% found (though I am making an assumption that the bar location is a set - it has that look). The bus station is a beautifully restored art deco airport where you can dine at the restaurant located inside. The site of the big confrontation with the Akrida queen is an abandoned naval complex on Poland Ave that is not publicly accessible, but does have a little visibility from outside the gate on Dauphine St. There's returning locations like the Winchester Garage, the Campbell House (though the footage here is reused from 1x08) and the Carver Theater. And of course the road where Mary and John are driving during the Ramble On montage, which is on Ridgeway Blvd which runs through the Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge.
