but you know what, dan might struggle to assert his needs with people besides phil, but it’s so healthy that he doesn’t seem to struggle with asserting them *with* phil. a lot of people who have the issue of struggling to assert their needs also struggle with asserting their needs to their romantic partner because they fear upsetting them/bothering them/being abandoned etc and dan seems to feel so safe and secure in his relationship with phil that his issue with asserting his needs is null and void only with him, and that’s beautiful.
