reading that tag in ur art about how viva would bite if someone tried to take away clay but clay would shut down and im so curious about what exactly that means for clay like if something happened to viva or they got separated what would he do . . ..
Tumblr media
part of the rehabilitation process for feral Trolls is separation. learning how a feral Troll acts completely alone from its peers is important, to see them at their most basic. without other Trolls to support them or bring out any socialization nature within. to simply see if they can operate alone.
Clay cannot be without Viva, or he will completely shut down. he will not eat, sleep, or even move from his spot without Viva in sight. the two cannot function apart during the first part of their socialization process
Clay simply cant be alone in general, but without Viva with him, its as if his mind assumes they'll be dead eventually without their protector, so Clay just stops functioning

you can tell a lot about someone by the type of music they listen to 🎵🎶
rules: hit shuffle on your media player and write down the first 20 songs, then tag 10 people. no skipping!
Thank you for tagging me! @i-like-5sos
1. Long Way Home - 5SOS: Oh! I haven’t heard this song in awhile. This is one of my favorites from self titled (although I will always prefer the acoustic version) I still remember when they changed the lyrics to “white snake on the radio” during my ROWYSO show. My favorite lyric is “so we’re taking the long way home cause I don’t wanna be wasting my time alone”
2. Bloody Mary - Lady Gaga: I remember the first time I heard this being 11 years old and shocked LMAO if I’m being real honest I love the beat (AND THE BASS) of this song. ALSO the chorus “I WONT CRY FOR YOU” is so GOOD
3. Not Warriors - Waterparks: y’all are in for a TREAT THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE WATERPARKS SONGS. I cannot just listen to this song just once. It’s always at least 3 times and it’s ALWAYS blasting (and yes I did replay it 3 times and blast it through my headphones while typing this) When the beat drops and “THERES NOTHING IN MY SYSTEM SO IM FEELING WHAT I FEEL FOR YOU” so POWERFUL!!!! My favorite lyric is “but hey for what it’s worth I think you saved my life”
4. Best Song Ever - One Direction: I still refuse to believe this song is about sex LMAO this is such a fun song to dance to though I love it. My favorite part is Niall’s solo “I said can I take you home with me, she said never in your wildest dreams”
5. Strong - One Direction: OH! FUCK! MY FAVORITE ONE DIRECTION SONG DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH THE CHORUS “IM SORRY IF I SAY I NEED YOU” I CANT I CANT. If you have not heard them acapella sing this do me a favor and go listen ITS SO GOOD ALSO! Zayn’s high note. My favorite lyric is ofc Louis’ solo “think of how much love that’s been wasted people always trying to escape it move on to stop their heart breaking but there’s nothing I’m running from, you make me strong”
6. Kids In The Dark - All Time Low: YES I LOVE THIS SONG I LOVE THIS ALBUM I LOVE THE MEANING OF THE SONG I’m not joking when I say that I found this song and this band during the hardest time in my life and this song just really hit me hard. My favorite lyric is “beautiful scars on critical veins” AND the firework pop towards the end!!!!
7. Olivia - One Direction: I will admit this song has grown on me big time post hiatus (also the fact that now I’m not hiding my sexuality from myself I can freely listen to this song without feeling ashamed) I! Love! This! Song! It’s such a cute love song!! My favorite lyric is “the summertime butterflies all belong to your creation”
8. I Love You 5 - Never Shout Never: another band I was obsessed with back in 2015 I haven’t listened to this song in awhile!! I remember loving this song though and using it everywhere. I also like in the beginning he says “I love you one a two a three shoobe-doo I love you four that’s more than I can afford”
9. Only Angel - Harry Styles: idk not much to say about this Harry song it’s not in my top 5 but it’s a good song! I like listening to it but it’s just not my favorite. My favorite lyric is “open up your eyes shut your mouth and see that I’m still the only one who’s been in love with me”
10. Viva La Vida - Coldplay: no one: - me: AHHHHHHHHH literally this song will never be the same ever since 1d performed it on xfactor. Idk what to say about this song other than the fact that I like it??? I also like 1D’s cover of it??? Yea cool. My favorite lyric is “Never an honest word but that was when I ruled the world”
11. Glitter & Crimson - All Time Low: this song has definitely grown on me since the release of wake up sunshine. ALSO THE BRIDGE! My favorite lyric is “lets start lets start a riot hard to sit still when your head’s on fire”
12. (Love Will) Turn Back The Hands Of Time - Grease 2: don’t clown me y’all but this movie and soundtrack are a guilty pleasure. I love the original grease BUT grease 2!! It’s such a stupid movie but the soundtrack is fantastic. Anyways this song is another guilty pleasure LMAO I love the whole song so I’m not picking a “favorite lyric”
13. Savior - Rise Against: OH!!!! OH!!! THIS SONG RIGHT HERE!!!! fun fact: the first time I actually heard this song was when I watched a video of someone on YouTube burning her littlest pet shops because a trade went wrong and she got scammed so she took her anger out on that. I literally forgot about this song until one day I heard it in my junior year literature class and had major deja vu. Okay anyways I love this song LMAO my favorite part is the chorus “that’s when she said I don’t hate you boy I just want to save you while there’s still something left to save. That’s when I told her I love you girl but I’m not the answer for the questions that you still have WOAH OH OH WOAH OH OHHH”
14. National Anthem - DE’WAYNE: okay THIS SONG it’s so good and it describes what it’s like growing up in America as a POC. I don’t wanna say too much about it since I’m not a POC so I know I will never fully understand the song because of my privilege but I appreciate the fuck out of this. I love the entire song I don’t have a favorite lyric
15. Your Love - Nicki Minaj: I miss this Nicki Minaj. UM not much to say about this song either??? It’s a good song and I like it?! My favorite part is the chorus OH and the outro I love it

Don’t get me wrong I love the lady Gaga we have now BUT THIS ONE WILL ALWAYS BE ASSOCIATED WITH MY CHILDHOOD AND PRETEEN YEARS. I remember feeling like a badass singing this song when I was 10 years old LMAO I don’t have a favorite lyric I love the whole thing it’s a bop
17. Dear Patience - Niall Horan: Oh!! One of my favorites from Heartbreak Weather. His voice in this song is just so beautiful ugh yes. I absolutely love the chorus of this. My favorite lyric is “feels like you don’t even know me just me and the stars can get lonely”
18. San Francisco - 5sos: OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SONG ITS IN MY TOP 3 FROM SOUNDS GOOD FEELS GOOD. I hardly see anyone appreciate this song so I’m here to tell y’all: ITS A GOOD SONG?!?! have y’all listened to the live version AS WELL!!!! masterpiece. This song makes me happy especially the guitar at the beginning. My favorite lyric is “reminds me of when we were free I swear that it’s still haunting me” BUT! I do love that pre-chorus
19. They All Float - Waterparks: NICE a song from their first EP okay but I love this song it’s much heavier compared to what they sing now and that’s what I like about it. My favorite part is THE BRIDGE!!! “this is the part where you cut your losses this is the part where you get a job this is the part where you settle for less just like you never wanted to”
20. We made it finally Adrenaline - Simple Creatures: OH MY GOD THIS SONG LISTEN this is the first song I listened to from this band (which btw if y’all didn’t know is made up of Alex Gaskarth from ATL and Mark Hoppus from Blink-182) I mean while it’s more pop (which is what their intention is) ITS STILL A GOOD BAND!!! My favorite lyric “I think we’re failin to connect you don’t what you do to me do to me do to me” and I LOVE THE CHORUS

Wellness: A Villian!AU Coco Fic Part 6: The Party Lights
Psychologist Malcom Kevgil is called upon by the Riveras to help with Miguels post-mortem development. He quickly learns however that this is moreso a trauma rehabilitation, and an untangling of lies and 90 year old mysteries.
He’s a smart man, but will compassion and an analytical mind win out against Family ties?
.... I have not updated this since July i am SO SORRY AKSJFSDLKJF But i hope you like the chapter! Theres only like, 3 or 4 more parts i think so this is actually like, the home stretch, almost
This particular version of the AU has been written and developed by @im-fairly-whitty [Click here to read!]

Sometimes, all you need to do to reorient yourself is to get some pent up emotion out
And Malcom’s favorite way to do that was to party
Now, to clarify, partying for Malcom does not mean “getting drunk until you’re seeing double”.
For Malcom, partying was dancing, drinking maybe one or two drinks, and socializing. Maybe even a little flirting if he was in the mood. One of his friends had called him a “wholesome” partier, and he couldn’t really argue with that.
Malcom’s go-to club was called “La Viva”. It was bright, colorful, and well kept by a man who had run an 80s night club in life. Perfect for Malcom, a man who would never really leave his beloved 80s behind. The outside was surprisingly benign- colored pink with a few rainbow banners and a green neon Sign reading LA VIVA in script, followed by a white lighted up lilly. Inside however, was where the party lived.
The dance floor in La Viva was the main attraction. Shining and sparkling, it reflected light from the various colored stagelamps that blinked and shuttered, alighting the room without ever having to turn on any of the (Emergency) overhead lamps. It was also absolutely massive, taking up more room than it probably should have. The bar was squeezed into a corner, with barely over a dozen seats and there were benches and tables strewn along the edges. But if you came to La Viva, you came to dance.
Which made local disaster Rodrigo Rivera a complete anomaly in this bright and flashy entertainment center.
But hey, he’d been invited.
And, while trying to get his boney butt to the bar, he was bumped into so hard they both ended up clattering to the floor
“Oh, sorry about- ay! Hey there!”
Rui got up and looked at who he’d bumped into - suddenly grinning
“Ayyyyy Malcom! Great to see you!” He managed to get up at the same time as his acquaintance.
“How are you, partying as always?” Malcom asked - no sense of judgement in his voice that Rui usually heard when asked that question. It was a note about the man he appreciated.
“As always” he answered with an almost sheepish grin. “Yourself?”
“Eh, needed to destress” The doctor shrugged.
“You, destress? I’ve never known you to be stressed, Doctor” Rui chuckled.
“We all have our stresses, Amigo” Malcom grinned “Care to dance?”
“As tempting an offer that is, I’ve got a date with a bottle of tequila”
“Not the entire thing, I hope”
“Eh, we’ll see how I feel”
Malcom didn’t seem that impressed, but shrugged “See you around then!”
Rui waved him off and went over to the bar, bemusedly being served a daiquiri as he watched the glowing dance floor.
But then, from the corner of his eye, he spotted a very, very familiar silhouette.
He froze in his stool, watching with shock as the tall, imposing figure started to gaze about the room.
Rui put his drink down, brow furrowed. Who the hell was Tomas here for?
He tried not to catch the burly skeleton’s eye, and watched as “Tomas” stared intently at the dance floor… more specifically at a particular, blonde haired dancer.
“.... Oh, compadre, what did you get yourself into…?” Rui muttered, taking his eyes away, a vague guilt to his aura.
Malcom didn’t get a lot of time on the dance floor, regretfully. Though Tomas had the decency to wait until the song was over to go out on the dance floor.
“Doctor Kevgil, your presence is required”
Malcom looked up at the man now towering over him, very quickly realizing that this wasn’t a good thing.
“... Que?” his brow furrowed “Where?”
“Private room. It will only take a few minutes”
He stared skeptically for a few moments
“Is this a “please come” or a “Come before I force you”
Tomas shrugged. Quite the answer.
Malcom sighed, and nodded to the taller man, following him off of the dance floor and over to one of the private party rooms - usually rented out for…. rather saucy events. Tomas opened the door for him, and he walked in the mostly dark room - save for some neon glaring from the ceiling, bathing the room in an almost chilled blue.
Sitting on one of the plush couched.. Was Imelda Rivera.
Malcoms brow furrowed slightly “Senora Rivera?”
“Senor Kevgil” She motioned “Please, sit”
He weighed his options… and sat. “How are you this evening?”
“.. I am very well, Senora” he answered “And yourself? This sort of place doesn’t seem your style?”
“Oh, it certainly isn’t, though this particular club has more… prestige than most” She pointed out, taking a glass and sipping “Drink?”
“Oh, no thank you. I rarely drink when I go out dancing” He shook his head
“Hm” she sniffed slightly, putting her drink down “We understand that Miguel called you about a week ago”
Malcom didn’t visibly react to the declaration “That he did. Very early in the morning at that”
“.. And what was it about?”
“I’m afraid I cannot divulge that information unless it is life or death, Senora” the doctor proclaimed “Doctor - patient confidentiality, and all that”
Her expression didn’t change “Hm, well then I will assume the worst and prepare things accordingly”
“The worst?” Malcom narrowed his stare.
“Well, you see, Doctor” She started, staring at her drink in vague disinterest “Our family has much to keep to ourselves. We’re very private, you see. And anything that Miguel told you, cannot be divulged to the public.”
“I had no intention of bringing anything he told me public”
“Let me finish” She snapped at him, something approximating a sneer on her face. Malcom almost wanted to comment about the quote of how “ugly hate makes the face”, but kept it to himself. That sort of joke would not be appreciated.
“Now, I understand that you carry yourself and your practice completely seriously, and with much pride” She sipped her drink “So i will state this plainly for your benefit.”
Malcom squared his shoulders
“Should you attempt anything, we will sue you for malpractice”
She stared him straight in the eyes “... Excuse me?”
“... I said, we are suing you for malpractice. It’s very easy to get a competent lawyer who can come up with a case. All we have to do is imply that your promise of progress was not met. That he has .. how do you say, “regressed”?”
Malcom wished he had a lip to bite. It took everything within him to not react. To keep his head level.
“... Are you threatening me, Senora Rivera?”
“I would never. It is just a warning.” She pushed her liquor away “You have no family, no lover, nothing but your practice. Would be a shame if you lost everything, no?”
“That is quite the warning, Senora” He lifted his head slightly.
“We Riveras never do anything halfway, Doctor”
He took in a breath, and stood “I understand your… concern, Senora” he started “But allow me to give a warning of my own”
He found her glare almost daring.
“If you truly want for Miguel’s happiness, you will have to end up doing things you don’t want to do. Acknowledge things you would rather sweep under the rug” Malcom leveled “One day, it will all some to a head-” he turned “and you will refuse to admit that you saw it coming. Have a good evening, Senora, Buenas Noches”
And he left, returning to the bright lights of the dance floor.
He wasn’t followed.

Budget Makes the Difference? (1)
You’re my Number One - S Club 7
S Club 7 probably doesn’t strike you as a prominent band, they’re that band who sang cheesy hit ‘Reach’ I’m sure you are thinking! Well, yes they sang ‘Reach’, and they do have the stereotype of being a cheesy nineties band... However what you probably don’t know is that I adore this band, cheesiness in all, but that is not why I am writing about them. I’m writing about them because they had an unusual marketing strategy when they were still formed back in 1999. What was that weird marketing technique? Well, they only went and had a tv show didn’t they!
Miami 7, L.A. 7, Hollywood 7 and Viva La S Club ran from 1999 to 2003. This venture with BBC not only gave them the opportunity to become children's televison sensations, it also gave them the opportunity to shoot multiple music videos for near enough every single one of their songs - even those which were not released as singles! However, their tv show music videos were not used in their mainstream music channel, separate ‘more professional’ videos were shot. Which led S Club 7 to have two or more videos for the same song.
Today I am going to be comparing and contrasting their music videos to single ‘You’re My Number One’; the professional one shot solely for their music career and he more freeform video shot for their tv show!
An important thing to take note of is that despite playing themselves on the tv show, their personas and personalties where enhanced for the tv show, so their composure within the tv show music videos is more comical of that of their official video.
Lets begin by analysing the video for their music career:
youtube
This is a simple studio shoot. Theres nothing much going on apart from their basic choreography and some aerial shots thrown in to make the cuts more interesting. One thing to notice is the close up shot of their faces, this is a regular motif in all their videos. It probably doesn’t represent anything with them not being a majorly artistically rooted band, however I like to interpret it as representing their closeness as friends, and even a sort of family.
Now let’s look at the video they shot for their tv show!
youtube
Straight away you can tell the set is far more elaborate, a bowling alley being the backdrop for their video. What also makes this video appear more cost-worthy is the extras/backing dancers (excusing their dullness) at least the effort was went to to fill the set.
What else do you notice straight away? They’re all far more relaxed, you can tell in the Vevo video that they’re are focusing on what they’re doing whereas here they’re just having fun, which makes it more fun for the viewer. Straight away I am more intrigued.
The use of cuts and shots is more interesting as well, getting shots of the tenpins being lifted and dropped into place, as well as following the motion of the bowling ball.
But that’s not it! Not even a minute in another set is revealed, a supermarket. With band members Hannah Spearitt and Bradley Mcintosh running around the aisles collecting all the sweets and snacks they can, as well as having a laugh whilst doing so. Ten seconds later... another set is revealed.
This time it is Tina Barrett and Paul Cattermole trying to talk to people on the street. What is more noticeable about this and the newer location later on is that they are scenes ripped from the tv show. Without the context of the plot this scene seems rather irrelevant, however it could be interpreted simply as a ‘struggle’ but this theme isn’t revisited at any other point in the video.
It’s about two minutes and thirty seconds that the final set is revealed, that of a volleyball court. This scene has definitely been taken from the television series as I distinctly remember the episode! But once again this just beams happiness and joy, because of how carefree the band are within the scenes.
All in all, if I was told I could only ever watch one of these videos again and the other would be deleted from existence. I would choose the tv show video! It is just so much more enjoyable to watch, the band members seem to be having so much fun in the tv show version but look so stiff in the veto video. Which begs the question why even bother shooting a separate video?
The tv show video encapsulates everything S Club 7 stand for: fun, laughter and happiness. Whereas the vevo video feels like the complete opposite. It is as if they were trying to market themselves as tow different bands to two different audiences, a fun, carefree group of friends to the fans gained through the tv show and as a serious artistic band through fans captured through vevo and other music video services.
In the end, it is obvious which suits the agenda of the band better and in this case bigger budget wins! However, they could have captured the same enjoyment in their studio shoot if they hadn’t worried about choreography and professionalism too much. Add some bright colours, confetti, balloons and a piñata and the S Club Party can live on!
