I turned a new bowl last night. I really like the straight edges on this one and the spalting on the ambrosia maple. I used only steel tools on this one a left the carbide on the shelf. I was using cheap old harbor freight spindle going that I out a finger nail grind on and it cut so much smoother and cleaner than the carbide. I did have to sharpen it every 5 minutes but it's worth it. My hurricane bowl gouge will be in today so I'm super excited to get that.
