Friday is Hockey Fic day so I’ll give you a sneak peek at what is to come *smirks in intended pun*

“This mole right here,” I say, as I thumb over said mole on his collarbone. “It has driven me mental since the first time I laid eyes on it.”

“What? Last night when I had the gull to sleep without a shirt on in your bed?” He asks with a laugh.

“No,” I lean in and kiss the spot I’m referring to. “The first time we got into it on the ice. I grabbed your sweater and pulled. I spotted it right away and nearly lost all my senses. I wondered what other treasures laid hidden beneath your uniform and pads. My dreams couldn’t prepare me for the real thing. You are a sight, Simon.”

I’m still looking at his chest when I feel his fingers softly touch my chin, raising it up so he can lean down and kiss me. Claiming my mouth with his, as if there was any doubt to whom my body belonged to. He’s still touching me softly, but his mouth, oh his mouth, is doing the filthiest things to mine. Licking and biting. I’ll be bruised for days.

I love it.

He has one hand firmly planted on my jaw, moving me how he wants. The other has made its way down to my trousers and I can feel him unbuckling my belt with one hand. Before I know it, he has it undone and is sliding it through my loops in one fast motion, making a snapping sound as it leaves the final loop.

It is the single sexiest thing I’ve ever witnessed.

“Fuck,” I mutter into his mouth.

“That’s the idea,” he grins at me.

It’s probably the longest chapter I’ve ever written and the most in-depth smut. It’ll fine, I’m fine. Thanks @dohrnaira for reading through it and settling most my fears.

It’s been awhile, I know. Things have just been….they’ve just been. I couldn’t get out of my funk. But, I pulled out my laptop last night and decided I was either gonna stare at it for 30 minutes or do the typey type thing for 30 minutes. A few hours later, I had some decent words to show for it.

This is a blurb from my COBB piece. Enjoy!

“Did you keep track of anyone from school? You know, after we all went and did our thing.”

Penny has just barely sat down, but the eyeroll she gives me is one that is usually reserved for later in the night when she’s about done with me and had too many glasses of wine to even pretend otherwise.

“Just ask what you want to ask. I’m not in the mood to play 6 Degrees of Baz Pitch.”

“That’s not fair,” I say, pretending to be offended. “Maybe I just want to know if Trixie ever became a vet like she wanted.”

“She didn’t, she runs a non-profit for LGBTQ+ youths in Richmond,” she rattles off without even thinking about it.

“Ok then,” I say.

“Ok then,” Penny says back, leaning back in the booth and smiling innocently at me.

There’s a whopping two seconds of silence before I’m ready to burst at the seams.

With the hockey fic finally finished and not looking over my shoulder anymore, I’ve been putting my efforts into my COBB fic and my “for fun” fic. Thank you @aristocratic-otter for betaing my for fun fic. I’ve looked forward to your feedback and it’s motivated me to write.

Having said all that, who’s ready for a little angsty Snobaz knight action?

“Lady Wellbelove, could I be so bold to ask for a token to give me luck today?” Baz asks Lady Wellbelove with a flirty smile.

To my surprise, she not only responds, but looks mildly interested in Baz’s request. A spark of jealousy ignites in my chest and my mind is screaming “why him?!”.

“Do you rely on luck, my Lord? Or skill?” She asks with a coy smile of her own.

“Both. As most men do,” he says.

“You don’t need luck if you have the skill,” I interrupt.

And we’ll stop there as it gets a bit spoilery after that.

Whooo it’s been a hot second since I’ve done one of these. Hope everyone survived COC.

I initially planned on taking a break until after the first of the year, but… I’m one stinkin chapter away from finishing Catastrophic Blues and wouldn’t it be nice to have one less WIP going into 2024 before adding another WIP due to the COBB? Yeah, I thought so too.

All that to say, I'm working on the final chapter with the hope of posting this Friday. Here's a snippet:

Simon doesn’t wait for me to say it twice, he tackles me into the sofa and kisses me like we haven’t got all night. His hands digging into my hips, and his teeth bruising my lips. I missed this, the weight of him on me, the way he kisses like he needs it to live.

I always thought I needed him to treat me like glass, but really, I just needed to trust that he wouldn’t break me.

I’m slowly working on the next (and most likely final) chapter of Sugar, We’re Going Down Swingin. I have no idea when it will be ready to post, but here’s a snippet:

By the time I’m making my way off the bus the crowd has calmed marginally. I’m caught off guard by Simon waiting just off the side, talking with the bus driver about a local brewery they should go visit in the off season.

I’m jealous, only for a moment, of Simon's ability to befriend anyone. He has made more connections in his short time here than I have my entire career. He regularly has outings with many of the Kraken staff. Knows about their families, when their birthdays are, and what their favorite treat is for when he needs a favor.

A fleeting thought, an old insecurity rears its ugly head. Why is he with me?

But when he’s turns and gives me his million-dollar smile, he’s eyes shining just for me, it’s hard to care about the whys.

I've been kinda stuck as to my next move with the Hockey fic, but I got inspiration today and instead of doing any of the work I get paid to do, I was frantically typing all the things. Sometimes it be that way, damn the man and all that jazz.

With that said, I'm almost done with the next chapter and it will probably be ready to post next week! Way sooner than I anticpated.

I haven’t typed out too many words but my brain is definitely constantly thinking about all of the google docs I have open in my computer 24/7. Because of this, I keep a notebook on me at all times to make little scribbles as I think of them.

Things have finally settled a bit at work. Thanks to everyone who’s been tagging me recently. I saw them, I appreciated, I just wasn’t able to post.

This week I post a new chapter of Catastrophic Blues (aka, the playlist prompt fic). Here’s a little sneak park at the newest chapter:

I hadn’t been back to a beach since we visited America. Too afraid of what might happen if we sat on a sandy beach together again. Afraid he might finish what he started.

I wrote a surprising amount of words this week. But I’m keeping them to myself. Instead, here’s a screen shot of my Notes. I couldn’t sleep and I was up much later than 10:30, but I really thought if I quickly typed out this scene, I could silence my brain. No such luck. I have tried a different tactic with myself this year. All last year I wrote in my to-dos for the week to write for 30 minutes a day. I failed more times than I succeeded. This year I’ve looked at my calendar, assessed how tired I’d be after work and then decided a word goals for that day. Some are 200 words. Most 500. And then other days I think I’m going to just, run out of paper (metaphorically). It’s working. Every night I’ve sat down and gone “just this many and you can stop”. I never stop, and I’ve made decent progress this week. More than I have for a while.

I’ve also made some decisions regarding COBB. Thanks @martsonmars for being a wonderful sounding board.

All that being said, here are the fruits of my labor:

“For fucks sake Fiona,” I say, when I swing open the door and Fiona Pitch finally relents her assault on my ears. “Do you have even one ounce of chill?”

“Don’t know what that means,” she says, pushing past me to make herself at home.

“Come on in, Fiona. I’m doing well, can I get you a drink? What brings you here?” I ask my empty doorway.

And some on The Last Binding Alan/Jack fic (pssst if anyone has knowledge of these two idiots and has the time to beta I would be forever grateful)

“They don’t have to know,” the man says, switching his game plan.

“Oh, they’ll know,” Alan says.

“I don’t leave marks,” the man promises.

I’ve actually done a fair bit of writing lately. It’s amazing what alleviating a little stress can do for your creativity!

For those that have missed it, I’ve been doing the 10 Days to 1K challenge. We’re in day 6 (aka 600 words). Here’s the link if you want to get caught up.

I won’t lie, it’s been tough. A real editing challenge rather than a writing challenge.

The other piece I’ve been working on is the Alan/Jack The Last Binding series fic. Here’s a few words from that:

“You understand what Newberry was implying back there?” Jack asks, jumping right to the point so the other man can’t call him on it again.

“Actually no, could you explain it to me,” Alan says, a sly smirk forming on his face. “In great detail. He was being so coy about his intentions that I lost the plot before he even mentioned the size of your bed.”

This pairing always reminds me that while grumpy/sunshine is great and all, grumpy/brat is where it’s at.

The next five days I’ll have some extra time to get some writing in. So hopefully I can finish up a few things and cross them off my list!

I’m still in a slump. Work still sucks. Life is still busy. But I’ve made an effort to at least stare at my screen most days and some of those days words came out.

Progress.

So I don’t have much to share but here’s some from Questions We Don’t Ask:

The only reason I’m under Simon on my too small sofa now is because I think he realized all his stories he was trying to entertain me with kept getting cut in half because he was editing out Agatha or his in-laws or something else that would stir up the earlier friction.

But I’m not complaining.

Not now anyways.

In other news, my birthday is Saturday. It’s also a full moon. It all feels very ominous and I kinda wish it would pass already. But I also love my birthday and want to celebrate! I have conflicting feelings, (see said aforementioned slump from earlier) and I’m trying not to put expectations on a day that will come and go whether I like it or not. Sigh.

Crochet news is pretty boring. I’m working on my friend’s reading blanket. Had several regrets because they read.. a lot. But also if I gave them the blanket in 3 years they wouldn’t care and still be just as excited.

Everyone have a bangin what’s left of their Wednesday. I’m not gonna tag anyone so if you wanted to be tagged, consider this it!

Small snippet today. I’ve got to write more so I can share more.

Also the Kraken just made it to their first NHL playoff season! There were some other really cool stuff that happened, but honestly I’m still learning all this hockey stuff so I could decipher it. But GO KRAKEN!!

Here you go:

We were both drafted in the same year. I was speculated to be the only person from the UK that would make the pros that year, but out of nowhere, Simon Snow, snow-plowed into the hockey world and even had the audacity to get drafted one spot above me, both going to newer teams, him to the Las Vegas Knights and me to the Seattle Kraken.

The hockey press has had the time of their lives making me out to be the villain to his hero.

My aunt thinks it’s great. Just being in the news in any way is great, she tells me daily.

I just want to play hockey and go home.
