Acknowledgements
If I had ever written a "dead tree" book, I would have done an "Acknowkedgements" page. So, I'd like to offer this for now.
I would like to thank my Ubyssey collagues and friends from back then. Sorry, but I don’t want to name people in case I miss some. But you know who you are....
Thanks to Toronto writer Linda Frum who I met during my Ubyssey days. I plan a full post on this, featuring how she briefly featured in Ubyssey history. (I think this will be news to most Ubysmals). At any rate, writing the post will give me an opportunity to say thanks to her in a public way for her kindness, encouragement and long distance friendship at that time.
I went to work for British Columbia Report,, the conservative newsmagazine, after graduating. There. I was inspired by Ted Byfield, who I did research for. Report alumni like me went all over Western Canada. My old editor, Terry O'Neill, did lots of the hard work to turn me into a "newsman". I have great respect for O'Neill.
My mother, Valerie Dundas, has given me great love. She deserves "combat pay" for putting up with my Ubyssey misadventures. I wrote for The Ubyssey for a *loooong time.
