MTL Booklist Review Part 2

These are the books on my bookshelf that I bought from Google Play.

Warning: spoilers ahead!

1. [Did Not Finish] Marriage and Business - I should have read the reviews. I was fooled by the 4.2 overall rating from more than 4,000 reviewers. I should have from past novels that just because something has high ratings doesn’t mean it would be my taste. I dislike large age-gap couples :( Which is also one of the main reason I am picky with the c-novels I read, because most of them are like that.

2. [Average] Refuse the Duke - The duke’s aide, who is actually a woman, gets murdered, and her soul transmigrates to one of the duke’s fiancees. It’s an interesting concept.

3. [Did Not Finish] I Became the Wife of the Male Lead - Could not connect with the FL. I made it up to volume 2.

4. [Recommended] Fortunate or Unfortunate - The FL transmigrates into the novel’s villainess. Knowing that if her dearly beloved little sister would marry the ML, she would die from childbirth a year later, the FL proposes a marriage to the ML just until the original FL of the novel comes. The angst is so good on this one. But their chemistry is even better.

5. [To Read] Handsome and Wild - the first volume is free on google play so I added it to my bookshelf.

6. [Did Not Finish] Brellin - I just couldn’t connect with the FL. Other than the fact that she’s dying in a year, because she is the author of the original novel she transmigrated in, she is a bit OP.

7. [Favorite] Duchess with an Empty Soul - The angst is so good. The main couple are both kind people with a pitiful backstory. They fit each other so well. I personally prefer the novel, especially since the manhwa doesn’t entirely capture Claude’s POV. I’ve translated a portion here (password: summoner).

8. [Recommended] The Beloved Duchess - Short, sweet story about the FL who, after dying from sickness and unable to confess her love to her husband, goes back in time to before they were married. She swears that this time, she will confess her feelings.

9. [Favorite] Side Story - No words needed.

10. [Did Not Finish] The Upright Male Lead has Fallen - The FL has transmigrated into the character of a novel who is a friend of the ML but will die a year later. During her time with the ML who she considers “too nice”, she influences him to break a few rules here and there. It turns out he’s a sociopath inside. Could not connect with FL.

11. [Did Not Finish] The Lady Just Wants to Rest - I bought the first book, but saw that it had a low rating on Ridi. Only read a couple of chapters. It is from the same author of Doctor Elise and A Capable Maid.

12. [Favorite] Shu’s Lady - already reviewed in part 1.

13. [Did Not Finish, Recommended] This is Obviously a Fraudulent Marriage - I’ve decided I want to read the manhwa instead.

14. [To Read] The Sword and the Dress - The first book is free in Google Play. Don’t know if I’ll ever read it, or have the motivation to read it. It seems the manhwa artist has dropped it too, which is too bad.
