The call comes from the small witch by the counter, sleeves rolled up to expose scarred arms as she hunches over a tome - eyes, however, focused on the newcomer rather than whatever it was she was supposed to be doing.

This was the problem with wanderers, Callisto mused, as though their entire clientele was made up of anything but. They didn't know what they were looking for and the new ones were too nervous to actually come in and start a conversation.

"If you wanna come in, come in. We've got a few bits and pieces, a lot of books, or I might even be able to cook you up something special if that's what you're looking for. If you don't want any of that, get lost."

"Oh my god, at least do a detect good and evil or something before you just go touching things." Callisto hip checks him gently out of the way, paying no attention to his folded arms or the pout clear in his voice. Only one of them ran a store that dealt with a wide range of magical items, and it wasn't him.

She had her own investigations to do, after all, but anything that had that whisper of the Feywild on it was something to be wary of, and the last thing she needed was him getting stuck under some unrelenting curse. Though she'd be hard-pressed to say it out loud, she rather enjoyed having him around.

"We'll have a look at it and once we know what it is, it's all yours - as long as it doesn't conflict with that necklace".

Callisto is not an easily impressed wizard. Most people think that makes her snooty, but as far as she's concerned, it just means everyone else needs to produce better magic.

Magic like what Lex has just shown her.

Callisto leans forward, eyes wide as she takes it all in - she knows it's an illusion, and even that knowledge is tenuous at best.

"This is amazing."

Callisto hums appreciatively. It's late, and she's working on something particularly tricky. Having the company would be nice, and having a second pair of eyes would be even better.

Still-

"Thanks, but you don't have to. It's late, you can go sleep, if you want."

She's not sure if he'll take her up on it, but something in her feels better for having made the protest.
