To anyone who watched and liked Professor Layton and the Eternal Fiva, I highly recommend you Lupin ||| : the Castle of Cagliostro!! ( Miyazaki )

Amazing movie, original style and fluid animation + the soundtracks are awesome and the vibes are so much alike!!

Spoilers for the plot below ‼️

There's actually so many similarities between the two ( an ancient city emerging from the sea, a tale of light and darkness to reveal its secret, the Count's outfit kind of reminded me of Descole ( but maybe I'm stretching that a little), and a journalist girlboss which is so Emmy coded

( I love her sm actually). ..

Oh and that scene is one of my fav it's just iconic

reminds me of that animatic of UF where Layton is in fact the real villain of the game, with the Ready As I'll Ever Be music from Tangled the serie!

Evil Layton poll has got me thinking so hard about him ooough. I have so, so many thoughts regarding that.

I forgot to put it in the tags, but ever notice how Layton himself is not surprised over the fact he’s evil in UF? Like, yeah, he has plenty of time to figure it out, but it never came as a shock. He understood how this could’ve happened. Just think it’s neat.

I now own a DS demo version of Curious Village (EUR) :3333

Thats a super cool item to have in my PL collection! ( the cartridge also came with a tiny Layton strap either from the Pandora's box promo or the Curious Village one :33 )

The demo cartridge I own starts just the same as the original game, with sounds, animations, puzzles etc.. but stops you from playing when you find the answer to puzzle 6 when speaking to Marco to access the Manor. Based on reddit, the end of the demo versions might differ btw games ( UF as an example only has a trailer I believe)

The EUR demo cartridge is different from the US one, as the US ones only says NOT FOR RESALE on the front and doesnt mention "demo version", also comes with a sticker on the back saying 'property of nintendo do not resale' , when mine doesnt get a sticker.

I've managed to find some pictures from the US ones on Ebay and Reddit ( there's demo's version of CV, PB, UF and LS) both in EUR and US but I also found some in French :33 ( apparently there's actually demo versions of all the games even AL !)

I just found out that someone managed to create a playlist of the Professor Layton and the Mansion of the Deathly Mirror' letsplay ( the remix) ??!

This has been a lost media for so long in the community and we finally managed to take a look at the remix at least, im genuinely so happy!!!

Sadly the playlist is displaying the game remix and not the original ( so dialogues and puzzles might differ) but that still amazing 🙌

I've heard about this game for the first time in the Artbook of the first 3 games, and got the link to the playlist in a French video on the topic! Like thank you sm French Layton community 🫡🫡

It's technically still a lost media tho as it's the best thing we can get out of the remix and not the official game for now ( the DoCoMo model is obviously not produced anymore and didn't get out of Japan, and even if we manage to find a phone that has the whole game downloaded ( 6 chapters complete ) on it It'll be hard to get the files out, but Im so thrilled about it!! ))

Learned how to play the first notes of the Ode to the Moon from Eternal Diva on the piano ( with an orgue sound effect cause it's cooler) and im so happy! Im able to do both the moon and the sea together now :DD

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

I think his character grew on me with time. ..

When I first played Miracle Mask he appeared as slightly annoying and a douche to Angela ngl, he was one of my fav character of the franchise but yeah he definitely went to far and barely listened to his friends concerns which exasperated me a lot :')

Still liked him very much because of his cheerful energy and the strong bond he shared with Angela and Henry ( and Layton ofc) , the story of Monte D'Or itself made me cry sm. .. Like it's build on friendship and love and hope, mlp vibes much haha

Now that I've replayed it recently I think I see his character with a new perspective,mostly because I headcanon Randall with Adhd and I'm able to better understand his flaws and qualities like the relationship with his father or towards Angela, or his clear hyperfixation on archeology, unlike when I first played it and didn't overthink that much over the characters.. .

so yeah, definitely a fav but really appeared as stubborn and annoying at first, in the end he's just a silly guy full of energy and traumas 😔✌️
