having normal thoughts about the demon king today
#long post#vtuber#holostars#holotempus#regis altare#doppelgänger gave me flour and I made bread#I love writing villains that don't have a choice but to be a villain#do you understand me#the demon king was created to be evil. he doesn't have a choice#and he knows he's going to lose it all because that's how he's been written#and yet he's an evil version... of a hero?#I think he envies altare personally#because altare gets to choose whether to be good or evil#but the demon king doesn't get that choice#he was born evil and he will die evil too#yet he sees altare having fun with the guild and getting the recognition a hero gets#and he's like... why was I born this way?#why wasn't I born in a world where I could be happy?#yes the demon king is selfish and cruel and violent#and he probably wouldn't change if given the choice#but he was robbed of any other option#he is well and truly alone. while altare lives surrounded by people who love him#and the demon king has to WATCH THAT#he has to WATCH his mirror self enjoy life while he rots in his castle#with nameless servants that don't care about him#then the fire prince destroys everything he owns#AND he knows his entire universe is going to vanish after the season ends. because their world is disposable. including him.#ugh. villains who have no choice but to be villains <3
