What if instead of there being wuxia elements in the alternate-historical setting of the novel, Langya List, there were xianxia elements instead?  The outcome of the Chiyan Case and Great Liang’s history is changed (in supernatural ways).

I have, let’s call it, a strong appreciation for the consumptive beauty of delicate constitution trope in Chinese webnovels. Hey guys, I wrote a fic!!!!

It’s a Nirvana in Fire fic of course AND the longest thing I’ve ever written - even if you consider that approximately 1/5 of it is notes xD (typical lol). I had the most fun writing Xiao Jingyu in this, though he was not supposed to have such a big part, it just happened so naturally that there was no refusing him :)

冬岭风起寒彻骨 夜暗前路雪茫茫 忽见远处似有火 原是梅树崖边长 木枝指向山下城 灯亮花红胜蜡光 霜衬霙瓣绝如幻 梦醒御床残留芳

Winter's wind on the mountain cuts to the bone, the night is dark and all around is snow. Suddenly, in the distance there seems to be fire;  in truth, it is a plum blossom tree at the edge of the cliff. Its branches point to the city below, red flowers brighter than candlelight (at the windows). Those blossoms, so striking against the frost, were likely a mirage; upon waking, their fragrance lingers on the emperor's bed.

Sleepless, I await the sun's rise; a candle dims by his bedside. The enemy may lie defeated, but the battle is not won.
