Why do you think the fandom treats Gemma and the Tomlinson sisters so differently?

Because Gemma is doing what they want and the Tomlinson sisters aren’t and despite being progressive and saying we support people for doing what they want we as a society and a fandom over all still operate under the rule of “my way or the Highway”

#I do know that some people in fandom have legitimate gripes with the twins and the way they’ve been racist #and I’m never going to argue against that #so if you send me anons talking about that I’m not going to engage because I know and you’re valid!#and I sure as fuck am not gonna say that never happened cause it did #but this specific hatred right now is not rooted in that #it’s rooted in an acceptable form of misogyny within feminism that says dumb women don’t deserve to make choices #because they are dumb and we hate them #only Good WomenTM deserve to do what they want #and THAT is a take I will fight against #every day #your beef with the Tomlinson’s is rooted in their racist actions in the past? good and valid #your beef is that they ‘aren’t being good role models’ and are ‘romanticizing teen pregnancy’ etc. I’m sorry but please re-examine yourself
