The only thing that makes it camp to me is the clunky cartoony shape of it but the color REALLY drags it down on top of the fiber optics looking almost like idk unfinished??

Pick N Pay clothing first designer range

Observation: Pick N Pay clothing announced they would be promoting local fashion designers by giving them an opportunity to have their clothing range in the Pick N Pay clothing stores. The food and retail giant said we can expect a full range of clothes and even masks from the designer. The first designer that Pick N Pay is collaborating with is Cape Town-based fashion designer Julia Buchanan. The head designer of these collaborations is South African fashion designer Gavin Rajah.

Why: Over the years we have seen a lot of retail stores collaborate with high-end fashion designers. Department stores such as H&M and Woolworths have collaborations with brands and designers such as Versace, Thebe Magugu, Rich Mnsisi, Balmain, and Kenzo to name a few. Massive retail store Target has collaborated with designer brands such as Zach Posen and Anne Sui which is interesting because Target, is a low to mid-end store. Pick N Pay taking a decision to do this collaboration is a change to their brand strategy and positioning. These designer collaborations could make Pick N Pay clothing viewed as not only a clothing store to shop comfortable and classic clothes but also seek status and trend. 

It’s interesting to hear about  Pick N Pay’s fashion collaboration because in the past year we have seen a number of retail companies focus more on beauty and makeup. Woolworths has extended their W beauty and makeup range and collaborated with celebrity makeup artist Sir John. Foschini has upgraded its makeup range, they have been hosting masterclasses and update their online particularly the makeup page. Mr. Price has launched its own beauty and makeup range Scarlett Hill.
