catalogued choly’s eyewear today. the visor hinges flush to the face and has thetic-style technology film layered into it for vision purposes. it’s more common for trufflers to get prescription goggles if they need vision correction, but sorters tend to get the visors, especially if they’re in bulk sort or IT handling and not like, board scraping n shit, cause then they can do the blue light blocking with full vision range, cause they don't have to put up with a respirator. i’m excited to draw hackers’ eyewear because i finally figured out how i want to do the jewellers loop stuff with them owo

footnote on the circle frames... i am pretty sure i want the bug-cell ones to be the ones he broke getting thrown out of the wolfrin dump site. but! he would still have the circle frames and cecil would notice the glasses aren't the same ones choly has been wearing. the prescription is old too but it's the best he can do? ...or maybe it's the circle ones he broke and the bug-cell ones are the old rx from gregorian. i doubt he'd be able to reorder an old frame though, let alone send in one to your average optician's to get redone custom, with how everything is commodified and rapidly, purposefully obsoleted. ...or maybe that's a service available at all's well. the quarter needs eyewear just as much as the city. i have wanted to flesh out some non-bell services and physicians for the clinic.

regardless of whether he updates the lenses on either of his "first" two pair, the next opportunity he'd get to order new frames and get examined for the lens rx, he'd already be in a soup of personal chaos not knowing WHO he is. he'd totally shipshop like five pair of glasses with his first central paycheck, just trying shit until it sticks. which would absolutely justify the heart glasses sticking so easily, for one, cause he's taking any potshots at himself he can

looking over my catalogue to decide whether i want to work on zahnsammlung or (fourth) next for the catalogue plate, and i got a wild hair and reviewed the plates i technically haven’t done yet: gregorian (predates the hybrid movement), blighted (bernadette, which is likely defunct due to chronology overhaul at this point), and ichorous (defunct, i don’t think he ever meets alamosi)

and i thought hey, maybe i should toss together gregorian just for reference’s sake. once he starts getting political outfit pieces, a majority of his gregorian pieces are allocated to work wear, so it’s relevant in that regard that people interacting with him in the quarter proper would see him wearing that as opposed to political pieces. the dichotomy between his work/casual fashion is something i’ve never really established only just kept in the back of my head

in addition to having reference of work/casual differentiation, it’s good to see 1. that he technically has had a lot of the pieces from the other five plates from the beginning, it’s just how he wears them and combines them, and 2. how he dressed before reality started accommodating his fantasies, versus now where he’s stalking the posthuman condition like his life depended on it
