i think because zepar and furfur are described as having opposite gender identities people assume that it means they're male and female and some people will try to have debates over which one is which but i think something critical being lost here is that they could also be (for example) agender and bigender. at least one of them is trans. let's go all the way. maybe they're both trans in opposite ways

I think if I ever write a fanfic with zepar and furfur in it I will solve the “how do you refer to them in narration, in a way that distinguishes them from each other, when their genders are a deliberate blind spot in the narrative” dilemma by giving them different neopronouns in every scene
