I think Wilczyca's Magija cover (by Filip Zwierzchowski) is the best black metal album cover of this year, so far. That sense of occultism that it has in itself; That white horse, which reminds me of the line from Ozzy Osbourne's Mr. Crowley that reads: "Won't you ride my white horse?"

It's dark, symbolic and haunting.

Niechęć’s debut album, called “Śmierć w miękkim futerku” and released in 2012, was met with universal acclaim from the jazz audience, and alternative rock fans as well. Before that they had performed at Open’er Festival and were appreciated by Polish Radio 3 as their ”Hope of the Year.” Their big asset is a fresh and rebellious attitude towards composing and playing live.

Today, I met with my student for the second part of the lesson. As the Christmas season is due to start in a month, I decided to start practicing Christmas carols with him. I used a piece covered by my late piano teacher Mr. Zwierzchowski - “Gdy śliczna panna”. My student struggled with it, because although it is an easy piece, it is developed in F-major scale, and involves change of fingers. In the end, I attempted to make it easier for him and noted finger substitutions on the note sheet.

Hundreds of people were told to evacuate their homes on Thursday as wildfires swept through several counties in the Florida Panhandle, the authorities said.

The largest wildfire stretched across 2,000 acres in Santa Rosa County, in the northwestern part of the state, the authorities said. The fire broke out on Monday afternoon, grew as it was fanned by high winds and low humidity, and by Thursday morning it was 35 percent contained, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services said in a statement.

Winds of more than 20 miles per hour picked up embers and carried them across Interstate 10, which runs east-west through Florida, the department said. Portions of the highway were shut down.

As of early Thursday, about 1,100 people had evacuated their homes in Santa Rosa County. “That is going to continue through at least today,” said Joe Zwierzchowski, a Florida Forest Service spokesman.

Firefighters were also battling a 575-acre wildfire in Walton County, where about 500 residents were evacuated and Highway 98, another east-west artery, was sealed off, the department said.

In Walton, 33 homes were destroyed and seven were damaged as of Wednesday night, Mr. Zwierzchowski said.
