Final synopsis of ‘An Order of Perpetual Fate’
Based off the mythological tale of The Divine Twins, two souls are spawned onto an isolated cove to fulfil their destiny. In this sound dominated film, the twins (Finn and Sophia) use the one night they are given to understand their path in life. They are programmed by a higher power to fall in love and become protectors of the sea. Through out the film they gradually become more and more theirselves. They begin to understand each other by communicating telepathically, and learn more about their powers as an algae-like glow takes residence on their skin.
Although, Finn in particular becomes uncertain of this life and makes an attempt to escape, but is stopped by a higher power preventing him from leaving. Finns inner turmoil symbolises a teenagers realisation of what it means to grow up, what it means to discover ones identity, and how it feels not wanting to take the path others wish for you.
Sophia becomes the calming influence on Finn and encourages him to venture towards the ocean where she assures him he’ll find peace. In a short montage of intimate scenes the two twins fall in love and walk a path of candles that leads them to the oceans edge.
There, the film ends and a stop motion animation begins that captures the next part of their journey. The two lovers transform into mythological mermaids and in the credits can be seen happily jumping through waves.
This ending intends to symbolise what happens when you truely open up to the opportunities presented to you. These opportunities may lead to true self discovery and teach you valuable lessons on a personal purpose, passions and priorities in life.

Wes Anderson Asteroid City colour-grading
Wes Anderson has a unique style of colouring his films. They are often absurdly un-realistic yet beautifully artistic with how he captures another world. In my film, I used colour-grading to create other-worldly effects to communicate its properties like Anderson does in his films. Asteroid City is the most recent film of Anderson’s - yet to come out, it aesthetically uses colour to evoke emotion and establish settings and feelings, while also being a uniquely pleasing film to look at.

Harry Potter Inspiration
The Harry Potter films, especially The Order of the Phoenix, were an inspiration for my colour grading of the blue hued scenes and also the animation. I was unable to find shots of the particular scene but I remember a certain scene where Harry and other characters are travelling through a passage where they morph together. It’s a chilling scene as their screams echo and their two bodies almost become one as they speed through the air in connecting tunnels meant for only one person. In my animation when the characters start to transform, their world spins and they morph in and out of each other, similar to the film.
