Oh, this was too good-- Watching the other squirm like this was somehow more entertaining that he'd been expecting. Even with Aoba probably wanting to try and hide how flustered he was getting, Minato didn't have to try hard all to read past those efforts being made to bluff past the embarrassment.

"Average my ass--" He scoffed in an amused tone, before a questioning little sound rolled through the blonde. "Oh~?…" Leaning a little closer, but close enough to actually invade Aoba's personal space-- a mischievous edge creeped into Minato's expression.

"Did ya have something more to say~? Hm~?…" Reaching over, he lightly rested his hand on Aoba's arm. Finally encroaching on that personal bubble-- but, not in an overly obnoxious sort of way. Just enough to suggest that escape wasn't going to be easy~...

"Eh-!?" That only made Aoba act even more flustered, practically ready to hide his face within in high-collar puffy jacket or his hot pink headphones, anything to try and avoid being seen as blushing.

Worse was that it felt different than when other men made a pass at Aoba, because he actually liked it rather than feeling uncomfortable. "I'm just average, there's no way I'm handsome like y-" Shit, he needs to stop talking before he actually says something that'll leave his head spinning.

{some random dmmd verse thoughts that have been floating in my brain lately--}

🐍} Out of the side character cast, I honestly feel like Micchan would probably get along at least somewhat well with Mizuki-- if nothing else, then as a customer/patron who visits Black Needle for the sake of hanging at the bar lol-- (and admiring artwork, even if he's not shopping for any ink himself)

🐍} I also feel like he might get on surprisingly well with Tae… Granted, I do think they'd butt heads a fair bit-- just thanks to personalities lmao-- But, I feel like Minato would also take some solace in her company… Especially given that he's basically unable to see his own Grandmother in this setting; even with the two women being rather different-- I still feel like he'd find some comfort in a relationship that could somewhat remind him of what's currently out of reach.

🐍} I'd like to think that Minato probably still has his motorcycle in this verse-- But, thanks to much more walking oriented travel-climate of Midorijima, he doesn't end up riding all that often.

🐍} If/When given the chance to stay there while visiting Platinum Jail, he would absolutely remark on the fact that Glitter sounds like the name of some club--

🐍} While AllMates weren’t originally something he planned to invest himself in, despite thinking they were an interesting thing-- After a while of feeling isolated, and craving some touch of the familiar life he was now cut off from… Icchan ended up being welcomed into the apartment.

With Tsukimi joining not long after, as Minato decided he wanted a companion he’d feel more comfortable taking around with him. Plus, even an artificial roommate felt better than being alone… Especially for someone who didn’t feel ready to let people that close again just yet.

"Mmn…" A soft sound is all the reply given at first as the blue haired male stood in that newfound awkwardness. Really, it wasn't so much that he'd struck a nerve… or at least, not one that didn't already lightly gnaw at the back of Minato's thoughts to begin with-- but maybe more so, that the blonde didn't feel much need to try and sugarcoat his feelings much in the moment.

That feeling of being trapped here was getting easier the longer he was here on the island, but still… That didn't ease the bitterness all too much. Lost in his own thoughts for a moment, attention was drawn back to the other once he spoke up again-- blinking a moment as well before he went to reply.

"Yeah, it is pretty different… I'd say you're right about it being more lively. Even at night things are usually kinda busy out." With that, his expression lifted a bit, hints of amusement tugging up the edge of his lips. "I mean, guess you're right. It's almost like some seaside town you'd visit for a vacation or something." A small note laughter was given with that comment. Granted, the thought of a quiet little seaside town did threaten to bring it's own unpleasant thoughts to mind…

But-- now wasn't the time to let that train of thought grip him. Thin brows rose slightly in curiosity at the other's next statement, though. "Ah? That's kinda neat." He didn't quite feel sociable enough to say that meeting them might be nice, but… Maybe some other time.

"Ah-- Minato, by the way." Switching gears and circling around to an introduction after a beat of silence, he didn't care to be all formal about it-- But still, if they were gonna keep chatting like this, it'd be a good idea, right?

"Oh, I see..." Aoba feels awkward for a moment. Did he strike a nerve by accident? He doesn't know what it's like to feel trapped here, this island was all he ever knew, but blurry memories call back to his childhood of when a voice said being here made them feel trapped.

It makes his hazel eyes blink for a bit, trying to remember where he remembers someone saying that, but of course, memories prior to early adulthood felt like a hazy blur that he can't seem to remember anymore.

"I guess things must be...different than the mainland, right? I've never been, but I heard it's way more lively than here." Bigger and less oppressive since he has a feeling Tokyo doesn't have a big blue dome over in the horizon that none of the residents could enter. "It's not so bad here! You know, some friends of mine lived on the mainland before coming back here." Mainly Koujaku of course.
