She was characterized as thoughtful, innocent, blunt of speech, and Mary's close confidante. She came from a prominent family which according to Lola owns half of Scotland. It was predicted by Nostradamus that she would never return home.

Nostradamus is a seer possesing the power of clairvoyance, the ability to foresee the future. At the beginning of the series, Nostradamus had a vision of Mary Stuart causing the death of his good friend's son, Prince Francis. He has a sense of loyalty toward Queen Catherine and has supported her through the hard times. He also predicted that Aylee will never go home which was revealed by her death, Greer would fall in love with a man with a white mark on his cheek, and Lola would fall for a dark haired man whom turned out to be Lord Julien in Liege Lord.

Henry was determined to get his hands on England and have his son and daughter-in-law rule over the three nations. He eventually spiraled into madness and he was then willing to go to extreme lengths to achieve this goal, whether it be crossing lines or not. He got it in his head that he had to kill Francis and wed Mary so that he could have all three kingdoms to himself.

Leith Bayard was a kitchen servant whom fell for Greer after their first meeting. After Prince Tomas began showing interest in Queen Mary, Greer lost hope and Leith was there to comfort her. After, Leith gave Greer her first kiss, she rejected him because of his status as she is of nobility and he is a servant. However, it did not stop him from pursuing her. She eventually gave in as she quickly wanted love. Their secret romance began in A Chill in the Air and lasted until Monsters. Leith was sent into the army as punishment.

Stéphane Narcisse (English: Stephen) is a major recurring character and themain love interest of Lola. He made his first appearance during the second seasonas an antagonist due to him going up against Francis and Mary, trying to control the way they ruled France. He continually blackmailed Francis in order to get what he wanted as he knew of Francis killing King Henry. Also during all this, he began to continually try to court Lola and eventually fell in love with her. He also was in a sexual relationship with Catherine, trying to win her favor to gain more power at the court but also helped her in trying to take down Mary and Condé. He eventually betrayed her after she made false accusations against Condé and put Lola's life in danger.

Claude, Princess of France is the daughter of Queen Catherine and King Henry, the younger sister of Francis and Elisabeth, and the older sister ofCharles, Henry III and the twins, Emone and Henrietta. Catherine sent Claude away due to her reckless and inappropriate behavior and she later returns, causing trouble at the French Court. She proved to be a nuisance towards her mother and did not get off to a good start with Kenna due to jealousy, as she is married to Sebastian, and Claude used to have a sexual relationship with him.

Madam Greer Castleroy (born Norwood) is one of the main characters. She was Mary Stuart's lady-in-waiting along with Kenna, Lola, and Aylee. She is now Mary's best friend and confidante. Unlike the others though, Greer is not titled, yet her family is said to be ridiculously rich due to her families former success in the mining business. She is the eldest of five children, all of which are girls, the wife of Lord Castleroy, the step-mother of Yvette Castleroy, Gemma Castleroy, and three other unnamed step-children. She had been sent to court to marry a man with a title to secure her future and have her family marry into a titled family.

Louis Condé appeared on Reign as a new main character during the second season. Condé helped Francis and Lola during the Black Plague and was revealed as Francis's cousin. He joins them when they return to the French Court and meets Queen Mary and in short time becomes a good friend to her and later on a lover. As his love for her continued to grow, Condé began a rivarly towards Francis and started having an affair with Mary. Condé soon began courtingQueen Elizabeth and his betrayal was soon found out. He was wanted by the Royal Family and to be killed for his treachery. After Mary refused to leave with him and escape to Scotland, he was rescued by Elizabeth's soldiers and was encourged to King of England as well as the new King of France.
