I loved the episode but I have one complaint, Ricky September was the only decent person on that planet, and the doctor and Ruby didn’t know he was dead, so I feel like they would’ve tried to save him before they left.

Dot and Bubble was very stupid but Lindy selling out Ricky September without a second thought is easily one of my favorite deaths in doctor who. Like that was fucking cold lmao I was screaming

thinking about the bit at the end where the person talks about "taming the wilderness like our ancestors" after the scene near the beginning where they're trying to figure out where the slugs killing them came from and lindy assumed they were from the wild woods

Me when I started the episode: hmmm… something about this friend group seems odd. Our protagonist seems dumb, but I hope they mostly all make it out ok

I think my favorite thing about the writing of Dot and Bubble is that it intentionally gets you thinking about the supporting cast and what they have different and in common, and makes you confront your own blind spots.

They might as well be holding up a flashing neon sign that says “they’re all white”, and yet I guarantee so many viewers miss it— including me until embarrassingly late.

I find it really interesting that I'm seeing comments about the right white kids being racist (not disagreeing) but not classist at the end? They dismissed Ruby in the same breath as they did the Doctor.

i love watching people in the first stage of falling for peter capaldi it's so entertaining

it'll be a thirst edit or something and you see in the comments like "why is he kinda.." and "ik he's old but.." and I'm sitting here with my popcorn knowing damn well in a couple months they are going to be FERAL.

I was there too at one point but beleive me you get over it

That episode was fantastic, probably my favourite so far. Thanks to being British and having a good sleep schedule I think I've missed my chance to comment anything new or meaningful about the racism in the episode and how well it was handled (seriously, bravo RTD, big improvement on RTD1 era) but I loved the themes and the return to sci-fi and Ncuti's acting at the end was absolutely phenomenal.
