Re-running
Hello, hello, hello! I'm back! I'm sorry it's been so long. You see, after the patch 7 update, I lost many of my modded games, and didn't have much of the energy to get them back. So I made new ones... and completely forgot about this blog. But! We're back! And with a new Tav (which will be posted soon). Other than that, there aren't any other changes. Hopefully this time I'll actually finish a run-through...

Tales of Adventure: Time in camp, night 1 pt.2
And now, our plucky hero has some time off. Included below is some documentation of a cut-scene.
"Oh it's gonna be one of those nights..."
*Sigh.* "I should have figured..."
"I just want to go home. No matter how far away it is." "I'm tired of this whole shin-ding already."
"I will be home. One day. Alive. Unharmed. ... at least alive."

Tales of Adventure: Time in camp, night 1 pt.1
And now, our plucky hero has some time off. Included below is some documentation and an entry from tonight's journal.
"Well, it's a good spot."
"Hm. Quite the tent..." "Why does that symbol look familiar?"
"Just want to talk, lass."
"We should get to know each other a little more." "After all, we are traveling together."
"Oh?" "Interesting, I'll make a note of that."
"If you're not comfortable, I won't press you."
"I hope so."
"I'm glad this place has a river."
"I'm sure this is a good idea." "Don't fret. We need some rest."
"Agreed. Our top priority, as far as I'm concerned." "Not a fan of having this stupid thing in my head."
"You're telling me, lass."
"Alright, here we are."
From the journal of Adventure:
"I've always preferred to preform by the edge of a river. Reminds me of the docks at home. ... I miss my home. I miss the food, the sights, the smells, the people... The not having a fucking tadpole in my head. It's been a very long last few days. At least I've made an ally. Her name's Shadowheart. She's... secretive, but she's not that bad. Granted her tent... gets me thinking she has a reason to be secretive. I'm not even sure if Shadowheart is her real name. But I'm not going to press her for information. I know better than that. I know what it's like to need to keep a secret."
(Journal written in easier to read writing below.)

Tales of Adventure: Lost in the wilds pt. 2
Hello, hello, hello! I welcome you (perhaps back) to the story. Although you might know my name, for this post, and posts like it, I'll be calling myself the note-taker. Of course, miss Adventure will have her own thoughts on all this, herself. Please, make yourselves comfortable. I hope this is entertaining.
"Oh look at that. A bunch of dead bodies." "... Those poor people."
"Wait a second..."
"It's her again."
"Is she okay?"
"... And she still has that... whatever it is."
"Lass?"
"Are you okay?" "I just realized, a horned shadow probably isn't the best thing to wake up to. Especially not after have just been in the hells."
"Good question."
"Perhaps it was some dramatically timed divine intervention?"
"Hm. I suppose that's true. Depending on your divine."
"Do you have any idea where we are?"
"Ay. You can say that again, lass."
"Yeah... I can agree, we need a healer."*
"We? You want to stay together?" "Who would really want to stay with a tiefling?
"Fair enough."
"All right. Let's get moving."
"It was nothing, lass. I meant what I said on the ship. I don't leave people, strangers or not, behind."
"Can do." "Granted... I just want to find a camp right now. Preferably one with a river."
(Note taker's notes below)
* She says, speaking to a healer and being a healer herself.

*Gasp*
"Shit."
"Hells."
"Ow."
"Ugh."
"Okay."
"Now what?"
"Agh!"
"Of course that little monster survived."
"Life would be easy if it didn't."
"Fucking *incoherent Infernal grumbling*."
"Well. It's better than being badly injured."
*Inhale, exhale*
"I need a nap."*
(Note taker's notes below)
* Was this entire post just Adventure standing on a beach, talking to herself? Yes. Yes it was.

Tales of Adventure: A ship in hell pt. 6
"... Okay." "That's... interesting." "... I think I can kind of forgive the prickly... looks like there's some... rough history."*
"Alright, can we maybe not do the arguing?" "I understand this is probably stress induced but we are about to go into a fight, that will determine our survival, and we do, please, need to work together."**
"Oh. Gods. No."
"Those are cambions." "I. Did. Not. Sign. Up. To. Deal. With. Cambions."*** "What was I saying about this nightmare not getting worse?"
"I didn't sign up for this. I didn't sign up for this. I didn't sign up for this."
"I don't wanna deal with the ghaik." "I don't wanna deal with the cambions." "I don't wanna deal with the any of this." "I wanna get off."
"Alright, we can do this." "Just hook these thing together-ugh, they're slimy-and get us out-"
"Oh no."
"Don't you dare-" "Agh!"
"Dragons."
"Oof!"
"Shit."
"No, screw this."
"Screw this."
"I refuse to die on a mindflayer ship in the middle of Avernus."
"... If I didn't doubt if mindflayers have emotions, I'd say it looks pissed." "I am not the reason for this, you have no right to be mad at me."
"Shit!"
"This isn't... how I'd thought I'd go." "It's far too dramatic." "Far too dramatic." "I just wanted to get off that damn ship." "... Well, I got my wish. I guess I should have said alive."
(Note taker's notes below)
* Adventure understands "prickly because of bad history" much more than she'll admit. ** When stressed, Adventure becomes half-polite, half-"can we not?" *** It's hard to say what Adventure hates more; Mindflayers or Cambions.

"Well, like my father always said; "If it isn't working, give it a good smack.""
"... Worth a shot." *shrug*. "Although my foot hurts a little..."
"Too many." "Way too many..."
"Can I save her?" "... Is she even there anymore?"
"Looks like this is my best bet to try to save her..."
"Wait..." "What did I just do?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**TRANSFORMATION NOT DOCUMENTED BECAUSE IT FREAKS ME OUT.**
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah, don't remind me..."
"I just killed someone..."* "Gods, forgive me." "Gods, forgive me." "Oh gods above and below, forgive me."**
"I... I don't know if I wanna risk this."
"But what choice do I have?"
"Okay. That's... good." "That's good." "I can save her... I hope."
"Here goes nothing." "Lass, forgive me if I'm wrong."
"Ugh, mhh, okay..." "Okay, we're okay."
"... Well." "That's... different." "I don't know how to feel about this."
"Are you alright, lass?"
"But I don't blame you for not trusting the gith..." "They're prickly."
"Yep. Not looking forwards to it."
"Well met, lass." "At least I know someone's name now."
"Strange device. I'll have to ask more about it later."***
"Yes ma'am." "Demanding much?"
"Lead on? ... Sure. I can do that." "I hope."
(Note taker's notes below)
* By what Adventure knows at the moment, she's not wrong... ** Ah, bard guilt. You just know this is turning into a guilt-laced song/story/poem/etc. *** Sadly, I didn't get a shot of the artifact.

Tales of Adventure: A ship in hell pt. 4
"So... how did I get here?" "Let me think..."
"I woke up in some nightmare ship." "Learned more about the mindflayers than I had ever wanted to."
"Met this lass, who still hasn't told me her name." "And now..."
"We're here." "So now what?"
"Can't make sense of it?" "Here, let me try."*
"Annihilate, aggression, and unleash..."** "Gee, how pleasant. Ick."
"Okay, so unleash... doesn't really do anything? Noted."
"Annihilate sounds like it's just gonna kill them... so *sigh* aggression it is..."
"Yeah, I thought so."
"Oh boy. There's another one."
"... Yeah, we do." "I'll make time, lass." "I don't leave people behind."
"Lass, if you're going to be all persnickety about this, you can get off this ship by yourself."*** "I don't intend for anyone to die, lass. Stranger or not."
"I'll go look around. There must be some way to get this thing open."
"I'll hurry, I promise. Don't worry, I won't leave you here, lass."
"So this thing..."
"Hm."
(Note taker's notes below)
* Adventure, by nature, is a curious sort. And, since she could understand the illithid records, figures "hey. Maybe I can figure this out too." ** Yeah, so I just realized poor Shadowheart in the background is probably just watching all this. *** She wouldn't. She's just being grumpy. As established earlier, she doesn't leave people behind. (Even if she kind of wants to.)

Tales of Adventure: A ship in hell pt. 3
"Hells. Look at those things." "Dragons have always fascinated me." "How do they even stay in the air?" "They're magnificent. And terrifying." "I wonder what it would be like to fly on one?" "The wind in your hair, the feel of the scales. What do they even feel like? I'd think, since they're fire breathers, they probably have a warmer feel. Perhaps rough. Scaly for sure... maybe crocodile like... or alligator like? Or..." "I'm rambling again."
"Granted, there is something kind of beautiful about this place. It has a... very alien kind of beauty to it." "I wouldn't want to stay here, gods I heard about Elturel, but... it is kind of beautiful." "I'll have to memorize it. Make it into a poem, or something of the likes." "... Study it, when I get home." "If I get home..."
"... That's weird. I'm alone..."
"... But it feels like..."
"...I'm being watched."
"I might be in danger."
"Ah."
"Oh no."*
"Yeah, I thought so..."
"... I'm in danger."
"Wait. Abomination?"
"What the hells is she talking about, abomination?"
"I'm not- Agh!"
"Hey, lass, if I knew, I would not be in this situation right now."**
"... No thrall?" "So that's what she meant..." "Nice to know."
"What made you think I was a thrall?"
"... Ah." "That is bad news."
"Who are you?"
"... Yeah, okay, sure. I see I'm not getting an answer here."
"You want me to fight imps?"
"... You know what, lass, I'm not going to argue. You seem like you know what you're doing so sure. Fine. Lead the way."
"I can't believe I'm going into battle with a perfect stranger. A really weird perfect stranger." "And I still don't know her name."
(Note-taker's notes below)
* Look, so the framing here was accidental, but I think it looks pretty cool, for an accident. ** Fun fact about Adventure: She has a habit of calling people lad/lass/luv. Especially when she's stressed/scared/upset.
This expression makes me think that landing hurt just a little.

"Oh weird. Mnh, gives me a headache." "But... what would mindflayers want with information on Goblins?"
"... Okay. That's... kinda cool. Kinda gross, but kinda cool." "Still don't like this ship. Or the mindflayers."
"... Are they studying us? Have they been studying us." "Why? Why would..." "Actually, I don't think I want an answer..."
"... This thing looks like it wants to kill me."
"... Oh hells no."
"No, no, no."
"No thank you."
"An intellect devourer." "And here I thought it couldn't get worse."
"It's scared? How does it think I feel?" "I'm terrified. I wanna go home." "... So why am I being nice?"*
"I should destroy this thing."
"I don't want to."
"I should, but I don't want to."
"Why don't I want to?"
"The helm?"
"What's at the helm?"**
"It wants to go with me? Yeah. No."
"I'll go- but not with you."
"You are us?" "You are us?" "Yeah fucking right, pally-o." "I am nothing like some slimy, claw legged, living brain." ""You are us." Right."***
"No. You have to stay here." "And you're lucky I'm not gonna just run you through like a kebab."
"... Okay, well now I feel a little guilty for being so snippy. Guess it is kinda cute." "But I'm still nothing like it..." "... Right?"
(Note-taker's notes below)
* Oh Adventure. Dear, it's the tadpole. (Well, at least my take on it.) ** The face of "Press X to doubt". *** Meet the offended Adventure. You'll see her again.
(And a little Adventure appreciation.)
(She is so pretty. Even when disgusted/grouchy.)

Tales of Adventure: A ship in hell pt. 1
Hello, hello, hello! I welcome you to the story. Although you might know my name, for this post, and posts like it, I'll be calling myself the note-taker. Of course, miss Adventure will have her own thoughts on all this, herself. Please, make yourselves comfortable. I hope this is entertaining.
"Mindflayers... I've never been a fan of them already but this? Oh this is a nightmare..." "Ah. Hello. I should introduce myself. My name is Adventure- oh? You already knew that? Well, alright then." "I'm a twenty-four year old bard... what kind? Oh, just your normal, average, tiefling bard. I trained in a College of Lore, have been a bard for about ten years or so, play a violin, usually perform on whatever street corner I can find... yeah, this probably isn't what you're here for." "Alright, alright. Let's start the show."
"Let me explain." "Yesterday, at least I think it was yesterday. I have no idea how long I've been here. Anyways, yesterday I was just going about my usual day-to-day routine. I was mid-performance, just outside the Elfsong, safest place to perform, lemme tell you, it was a lovely, normal, day." "The sky was clear, and there was just the right kind of breeze. And then..." "Death from above." "This shadow, black as night, descends upon us, and I look up just in time to see a tentacle, like something out of a horror story, reach down. I blacked out." "When I came to my senses again, I was in a pod on this ship. There was... I believe a Githyanki, in one of the other pods." "This mindflayer enters the room. I was lucky I couldn't scream. And it was lucky I couldn't move. I probably would have gotten out and socked it in its squiddy face." "Either way, it heads over to this strange pool. It picks something up and walks over to the woman, the Githyanki." "Do Githyanki even have genders? For that matter, do mindflayers?"* "... I'll have to do some research later." "Either way, it, the mindflayer, holds up this tadpole, this ugly, sluggish monstrosity with the mouth of a hagfish, up to her-" "Their? Its? His? I don't know." "Either way, holds the tadpole up to, I'm guessing her, eye." "I didn't see what happened, I clenched my eyes shut." "When I opened my eyes again, the thing, the mindflayer, was inches from my pod. It holds another one of the tadpoles up to my eye. I did the only thing I could." "Fainted."
"I was only jostled back to my senses when the ship was attacked, by what I didn't really get to see." "The Githyanki was gone. The other pods were broken and ruined, and my pod was open. So I got out. No point in staying." "And that brings us here." "Where the hells are we?" "I honestly think it is the hells..." "Ugh. Lovely." "I want to go home."
"I'll admit, there was a bit of morbid curiosity about this ship. I did some poking around and found the only good mindflayer." "A dead one."** "There were some chests around. They... felt almost alive." *shudder.* "I have came to one conclusion..." "Mindflayers are gross."
"Yeah, nothing quite like seeing how you could have died, if luck wasn't on your side." "Honestly, I don't even know if luck was on my side, or if something needed me alive." "Poor guy."
"Here it is." "The reason I'm in this nightmare." "Ugh, there's even some tadpoles still in there..." "They looked a lot bigger up close."
"And it's fragile. Probably damaged." "... Why do I wanna touch it?"
"I'm gonna touch it."
"Ah."***
"Ow. Okay, bad idea." "No more of those."
"..." "These doors remind me of something." "Something I cannot say in good public."
(Note-taker's notes below.)
* I know Githyanki do, apparently, have genders, but I'm still not sure on mindflayers. (yes, I know about Omellum, but I honestly believe he is only "he" because of the people around him.) ** As established above, I know about Omellum. Adventure, poor dear, doesn't right now. (I am a bit disappointed I didn't get the "Dead. Good." voice line. I was a bit slow.) *** Photos taken three second before disaster. (again, a bit slow. I didn't get the explosion, sadly.)
