Flashback Friday

Here is a pet from a couple of years ago, and one I really enjoy. This is a monarch snowferra.

Not only is it pretty, but it has a crazy number of variants. It has five genes for a whopping 23 variant in addition to the common wildtype pictured here. Before today, I had bred all the variants except one, the faded white-edged blue monarch. After more than a hundred litters, it was still eluding me. But no longer.

Snuul of the Day

Today we have a special snuul for you to meet, my one and only ethereal snuul, Celestial Seasonings. Ethereals are also called star pets, as they get a gold star nest to their thumbnail and a golden glow, and she is a tea time snuul, hence the name.

Ethereals can only be born and are a rare occurrence (think shiny pokemon). They also have increased stats, although there is some debate over whether or not these increased stats are functional, as ethereals tend to do poorly in battle.

New Pet: Alicorns

We have another new pet, and another equine to add to our growing herd -- Alicorns! These gorgeous winged unicorns are premium pets, costing two red stones each, and have two genes, giving us three variants - pastel, light minty, and white. Both pastel and light minty ca be purchased in the shop, but the white have to be bred, something I'm going to work toward ASAP.

This gorgeous candystripe snuul is named Lodo, although I may change it to Pewter.

Today's snuul was chosen due to the...um, faulty nature of Xanje's name generator, lol. Everyone, meet Shite.

This candystripe snuul makes 1,469 of these gorgeous critters, and I still have another month to collect them before they are removed from the designer pet shop. Then I can focus on growing them, picking out the best breeding stock, and creating my lines of superior racing snails.

New Pet: Unicorn

As a child of the 80s, I have a soft spot for the original MLP characters, and these remind me so much of those chubby little ponies.

Aren't they cute! They are wheel pets, meaning they are a possible prize on the Wheel of Missoulou, so the colors you get are random, and they come in some eye-burning shades, lol. It also makes finding a beauty like this one a rare treat.

I really like these ones and will be spending a chunk of change on them in the near future.

Fairy Swirl Pufflion

Say hi to Rutchly, a fairy swirl pufflion, one of the newest additions to the designer pet shop.

These little guys are so cute, and I like the colors they come in, so I'll probably be getting quite a few.

Pepper Spice Fox

Meet Purte, one of my pepper spice foxes, another of the new designer pets added recently to Xanje.

I like these ones, even though they're fairly simple with spots and stripes. This one reminds me of a ladybug, lol.

New Pet: Rat Whammy

The second of three new pets added to the Xanje menagerie is the adorable rat whammy, which can be found as a reward for curing pets in the forest.

I'm not usually a whammy fan - I like a few of them, depending on their pattern - but I love these little guys. Someone aptly nicknamed them monkitties because of their resemblance to monkeys and cats.

Fire1975 Horse

This is Pillu, one of my new fire1975 horses, a new designer pet.

I like these, despite how plain the mane and tail is, and the fact that the spots on the baby form are not consistent with the adult form: on the baby, the spots are on the body, but on the adult, there are just on the legs. Also, they had the silly fangs from the vampire horses from Halloween, which I'm not keen on, but overall, I think they are very pretty.

This cutie was found in the forest and has no name. He is a squiggledotted snuul, another of the new designer pets that was added during my forced absence.

These are cute, although in my brief look in the shop, I had trouble finding colors that I liked. I will give it a longer look later, though.

New Pet: Greeble

The first of our new additions is the common greeble, a happy abominable snowman that many have compared to a certain bumble creature, lol.

Greebles are a premium pet, costing two red stones. I'm not crazy about them, but I think once the fabulous artists of Xanje start making patterns for them, I might just fall in love with these jolly furballs.

This little beauty is Chatie, a new inkblot snuul, one of the newest designer pets to be added to Xanje.

I like this one, even though it's a bit simple. The color options are nice and I like the cute heart of the face.

Wow, what a week!

Hey, I'm back! We had a crazy ice storm out here in Oregon and I have been without internet for almost a week. We lost our power for a day and a half, and nearly every tree in the city has storm damage after three days of freezing rain and sleet covered everything in more than an inch of ice!

I'm still dealing with the clean-up and trying to get caught up on everything I missed for these past six and a half days, but I have so much Xanje news to share with you. I'll give you a hint -- new pets!

This was on Sunday. It kept getting worse until Tuesday night when it finally started to melt and fall out of the trees. Needless to say, I'm ready for spring, lol.
