Branching out from the core cast, how far do you think you’ll go with this Fear AU? With characters like Blaze, her fears are relatively straightforward: heights, the crushing weight of responsibility for her kingdom and helping those she cares for. I detect there might even be some fear of burning herself out trying to bear that burden alone. Aside from her, though, I’m wonder who else you might find interesting to explore the psyche of?

As long as I have ideas for characters I’ll keep going! Some of them are definitely going to be a bit difficult if the franchise itself hasn’t explored those themes. For instance, I don’t really want to leave out the Chaotix, but I don’t have many concrete ideas for them.

That’s why I’m more than happy to hear other people’s thoughts! The tricky thing with having a character analysis AU, is the fact people will always have a different interpretation. That’s fine! I’m more than happy to explain my design choices, especially since I never truly focus on just one thing. However, it helps me a lot to hear other ideas so I can make sure my choices aren’t only going to make sense in my head.

(Also I really love the idea of burn out for Blaze)

The fear of disaster, more specifically the fear of seeing the future fall to a point of no return, to be unable to help. For more abstract and fundamental fears, I want to emphasize this idea of breaking apart, hence why he’s made of smoke!

It also makes him look like a spirit in a wasteland. In this AU, all he really has left is his survival instincts just to get by one day at a time in a ruined future.

Hmm probably Silver, Shadow, and any character that has a shape similar to a wolf or a jackal

Sonic is probably the hardest character for me to draw honestly haha. Probably because I see him so often that I always feel like I’m getting his proportions and shapes wrong since I want to draw him differently every single time. Alsoo I don’t really like drawing mono eyes skhddj gotten more used to it though now
