Sickness in her children always made her nervous... too often had she lost her little ones to fevers or worse in the wilderness.

Anna smiled at Carrie before stepping back and offering her her hand.

"Big deer... I hunt often. Is good meat. The fur is warm too."

The mention of elk made Anna's mouth twitch, but just for a second. The image of bloodied antlers and blinding white snow filled her mind, but...she couldn't think of that now.

Anna was used to dirty and torn clothes, often wearing them herself long past their time. Still, she wondered where Carrie had been to let her usually neat appearance go.
