At the risk of sounding fucking pretentious we have got to stop building a barrier between 'arts' and 'crafts'

Do you have any pictures of what it looks like when you try it?
I'll ask here since apparently people on reddit aren't capable of reading
How do you do an invisible join WITHOUT creating an additional stitch?
How do you fhdc after a ch1 mid row? Where do you put the hook? Which loop? I just want to know where to put the hook. I know I need to do a fhdc somewhere here. That's what the pattern says. I'm asking where do I put the hook?

Invisible join like when working in the round or like attaching 2 granny squares to each other?

I have a new creation that i must share with you all... Introducing SNAIL TAPE
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is originally based on a 90s magazine pattern I found, which I just had to try.
Tumblr media
However, the pattern wasn't quite right; it turns out that scotch tape dispensers used to be quite a bit slimmer! So i tested a few changes, and below is an up to date pattern. With added antenna of course!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This fits standard scotch tape dispensers fairly snuggly, so if you want a bit more room add some width to C.)
If you make one please attach a picture, so we can see the snail army grow...

Done with 48 hours to spare before I need to submit it for the Craft Expo. Hopefully the weather holds out for blocking and my hands are killing me and it’s past 1am here but this is the first thing I’ve made for myself in over 8 years and I’m absolutely DELIGHTED.
Pattern is Greek Amphora Cardigan by Colourway Knits.
Yarn is by Daffodil Road Artisan Yarn - super soft merino 10 ply in colours Autumn, Fudge, Liquorice and Terracotta.

FIBER ARTISTS, I want to know what yall do the most so let’s do a demographic poll
I know we are all victims of the fiber art rabbit hole and nearly all of us dabble in more than one craft, so please vote for your MAIN one, the one you do the most, the one you can do with your eyes closed, and maybe share in the tag what else you do! I hope I covered most of the crafts.
REBLOG for sample size!

This all day long … Elena Kanagy-Loux's article is right-on. I myself have made it a point in recent years not to share any content that glibly uses the phrase, "not your grandma's " because it's a) lazy and b) dismisses the real fact that grandmothers and older textile artists have worked hard to keep craft traditions alive and evolving, not to mention their immense skills. We should be thanking them and looking to them for inspiration, not mocking them. via @hyperallergic ❤️

<|:^] ˚₊·. I learned a lot of new crochet stitches recently, and as I was making swatches, I decided to make them into a sweater! The way it all came together reminds me of roots or mycelium.‧₊˚𓍊𓋼𓍊𓋼𓍊.࿐༄࿔.₊˚‧₊.
When I wasn't practicing a new stitch, I used a large crochet hook to create looser stitches make it look more like intertwined roots and filaments. I also used a knitting loom to make flowy bell sleeves (the loose tension was unintentional at first, I was still learning that as well).
I used two types of yarn: a dainty, mottled light grey, and a soft, whispy, multicoloured yarn that has a range of light grey to brown. This is the second sweater I've made, and I think I've made progress since last time! ଘ(୨୧ᵕᴗᵕ) .₊˚𓍊𓋼𓍊.₊✩༶⋆
