Born in Jinju, Jea was raised in a well-established household and grew up as a quiet but curious child. She was often found cataloging plants in her halmeoni’s garden or sneaking novels from her older cousin’s shelf.

Her parents own the city’s largest architectural firm—respected, driven, and always in the public eye. Rather than following the family path into design, she pursued her own interest in science and sustainability, earning her Life Sciences degree at Gyeongsang National University.
