One of my 10000000billion boring fantasy pet peeves is where you have a religion that is just Catholicism (or Catholic aesthetics mixed with Protestantism) vaguely masquerading as polytheism via there being like 3-6ish gods. And it Usually accompanies flimsy ass 'there's no/limited misogny!' settings (which are just aesthetically/culturally early modern era european patriarchies except women wear pants and fight with sord) so the Totally Not-Christian Pantheon will have like this neopagan maid/mother/crone shit slapped on, sometimes with Not-God being exclusively this goddess trinity in attempt to convince the reader that this euro patriarchy is a matriarchy (which the author thinks is a form of gender egalitarianism?), sometimes with an accompanying male trinity, and the whole time it remains Christianity on every other possible level. Do you know what I'm talking about.
#ASOIAF isn't the worst example of this because it's not doing the 'trying really hard to pretend this isn't Christianity with an expanded#trinity by making it vaguely feminist' thing but it's an example#ASOIAF is such a mixed bag man. Like I think the worldbuilding with Westeros is like........solid (still very much a mixed bag and I'm neve#convinced that it's a fucking CONTINENT it does NOT feel peopled or diverse enough) but the handling of religion is all around#pretty flimsy. That's not what prompted this post though it's just the most mainstream example I could think of

Did anyone ever like attempt to document and compile the variations of Barney the dinosaur murder ballads across the elementary school system in the early 2000s. Like legit it has always fascinated me as a phenomena and I would love to know if there were like traceable regional variations or what.
