so fwiw I phrased the question a bit differently to Taliesin and Liam based on the vibe of the conversation I was having with them

To Taliesin - Question was asked: "So. Orym and Ashton. What the fuck is up with that?"

Taliesin's Repsonse: Ashton was/is into Orym but realized like they were so damaged and felt it wasn’t fair to Orym to be with them until they dealt with their shit AND ALSO soft touches hurt but firm touches don’t so they are also unsure if Orym could handle that all the time. To which I said, “Orym has two hands is all I’m saying” and Taliesin laughed and said that was true.

-- To Liam - Question was asked: "You’ve spoken about how Dorian has been really crucial to Orym’s healing process, but it did seem like Orym was willing to playfully test the edges of those boundaries with Ashton for awhile too?” Liam's response: By the time things had really gotten rolling with Ashton, Orym realized he’d really fallen for Dorian hard to which I said "and what's not to love about Dorian?" which Liam repeated.

(I meant to say to Liam that Orym had two hands but Liam was so grateful that I'd made him a bracelet with Sprigg's coloring on it that he put it on right in front of me and said it was wonderful and special and I was so overwhelmed in that moment because when I'd started making bracelets for the cast, that was the first one I made so I was so happy Liam liked it.) -- So key Ashrym takeaways - We did not imagine it! There was a mutual attraction that was there at least for a little while and definitely is still there on Ashton's end actively if I'm interpreting what Taliesin said correctly whereas Orym's attractions might be a little more singularly focused on Dorian right now -Ashton likes to be manhandled both in and out of sex (Taliesin asked if they could demonstrate the pressure level on my arm and when I consented, he did. It was nice, it relieved the pain I normally feel in my forearms) -Dashrym or poly Orym who is dating both Ashton and Dorian (but Ash and Dorian are not dating each other) would not necessarily be out of the cards or unreasonable, especially in a post-campaign fic setting

Ok, trying to look at this from Ashton’s point view re their little display for the Bright Queen. If you are someone who is looking for answers about what the fuck is up with you there is some value to raising that question with more than one person who seems likely to be an expert. And if you’re someone who has suddenly decided they are tired of not knowing these answers and are generally not known to be patient, you might try to force the issue rather than waiting to see if you can trust said experts first. And if you’ve grown up in the middle of bum-fuck in Marquet, what do you really know about the Kryn Dynasty anyway?

I mean yeah, your new friend Essek warned you that showing off your powers to the wrong person could mean you end up a specimen being pulled apart in someone’s lab, and yeah he’s from the Kryn Dynasty so he should be more knowledgeable about that than you. And yes he seems really smart and capable and you like him. Like really like him because he’s hot. And he helped Laudna, which carries a lot of weight for you. But he also seems like an overly cautious and easily frightened person. I mean, he asked Laudna to open up her rib cage and then screamed when she did it. And he accidentally turned himself into a goat in Aeor and it’s really hard to take someone seriously after something like that.

So maybe he’s wrong and you really know better? What’s the worst that could happen? It’s not like you have a recent example of one of your best friends leaning into risky behavior that led to a fight that looked worryingly like it would lead to a TPK.

I’m sure it’ll be fine. No consequences for anyone other than you whatsoever. And you really hate yourself so consequences, no matter how dire, aren’t any kind of useful deterrent if you’re the only one suffering them.

Agree that the fact that the gods worked together to end Aeor isn’t really the most divisive thing in Downfall- it is somewhat known already at least by people who’ve read/studied history.

What I’d be concerned/ curious about is the reaction to the confirmation that the Primes let 2/3 of the world die because they were never going to kill the Betrayers, no matter how much damage the Betrayers caused to their children. That they didn’t even entertain the idea when Cassida told them the Factorum Malleus was modified to help their side in the war.

Some may find their actions here understandable and relatable, but others will have the comfort that the Primes’ priority is to protect mortals stripped away from them at the understanding that there’s a limit to that protection.

Loving all the interactions with Allura. She is babysitting 3 adventurer groups and probably even more dumbass wizards, she has a wife who doesn't let her forget to have a bit of fun (and have a little fight), she is called Allie by her friends, she is the more unambiguous Neutral Good of Exandrian wizards. She is the best.
